A piercing scream erupted from the distant, bustling crowd of cave dwellers.
The low crowd seemed to be torn apart, with bodies flying through the air, leaving trails of blood, some even torn apart in the process. The tearing was swift, weapons flashing with cold light, as bodies fell, their lives extinguished in the blink of an eye, like a hurricane sweeping through, creating a scene of panic and chaos.
Boom, boom, boom, boom—
A group of fish-headed monsters charged forward.
"These cave dwellers! How dare they betray us and trade with the human race?!" Ryan roared, swinging his trident, already stained with the blood and flesh of many cave dwellers. The Deep Diver Guard beside him also swung their weapons, charging forward boldly.
In just a moment, Kent had already assessed that this group of fishmen was coming for them. But before he gave any orders, the sound of clashing weapons rang out, and the guard team had already prepared for combat.
The guard team reacted swiftly, but some were even faster.
The gathered water surged, and a figure suddenly exploded forward, like a ghost, charging toward the Deep Diver Guard.
Dozens of bloodthirsty figures collided with the Deep Diver Guard as if a wave had crashed into a rock, the momentum shattering into chaos. The fishmen's roars, cries of pain, and torrents of blood surged with the figure of water, as though opening a dark door to death.
With several muffled thuds, the figure weaved through the Deep Diver Guard, and in her hand, a sharp fishbone stab appeared. She moved between the fishmen, the bone spines flying, instantly taking down three or four of them.
Kent's gaze couldn't follow the movements of the water, but without a doubt, this scene, though bloody, was full of rhythmic beauty. The body of the water flowed like her name, like winding water, moving past the Deep Diver Guard as if they were rocks, earth dams, tree stumps, or wild beasts, always flowing like clouds and water, appearing in impossible places and striking her enemies from angles no one expected.
Rather than a battle to take lives, it seemed like a dance with death.
The Dance of Hidden Killing.
Ryan, charging at full speed, suddenly turned and rushed toward the oncoming water.
With a loud crash, the two figures collided. Ryan continued forward, and the water's body seemed to be swept away by the force of his charge, flying backward, landing a dozen meters away.
But in the next moment, the water darted toward the Deep Diver Guard on the side. The fishmen's double-bladed long spears thrust toward her, but she barely dodged them. The water, like a ribbon, wrapped around one of the fishmen's necks, twisting her body in an impossible arc, her bone spines sinking into the fishman's eye, her body twisting to seize the spear's remaining momentum, stabbing it into another fishman's neck.
She collided with Ryan once again.
Bang, bang, bang—
The battle stretched with astonishing force through the Deep Diver Guard, who desperately tried to block the woman's attacks but were unsuccessful. With every strike, the blood spilled without pause. Some fishmen retreated, but more took their place. The fierce Deep Diver Guard, not fearing death, endured pain beyond human comprehension.
The only issue was that the woman had nearly exhausted her strength, but the enemy...
There were too many of them.
Blood exploded. Ryan's body was sent flying again, knocking down several Deep Diver Guard, but he barely managed to stay on his feet.
He flung off a Deep Diver Guard who had helped him up, blood pouring from his mouth, his neck gurgling as he gasped. He wasn't sure how the previous events had unfolded, but all he knew was that a human woman—who in his past experiences had been nothing more than prey—was now a force to be reckoned with.
He slammed his trident into the ground with a heavy thud and let out a defiant roar. If before there had been a hint of mockery in his attitude toward these human beings, now he was truly filled with murderous intent.
"Kill every last one of them! Not a single one left—" His eyes glinted with bloodthirsty coldness.
The nearly exhausted water half-knelt on the ground, panting heavily. She glanced back at Kent.
Despite being covered in blood, she smiled slightly, her lips moving.
No sound, but Kent read her lips in an instant.
A calm in his heart shattered like a stone falling into water, ripples spreading outward.
"Save me."
Figures flashed past on both sides.
Without needing any orders, the guard team, who had been watching the battle, rushed into the fray.
Swords whistled through the air, like rain beating on banana leaves, and the clashing sounds of weapons filled the sky above the plaza.
The guard team's assault was fierce, with a single charge toppling several fishmen. Fishmen wielding double-bladed spears were sent flying, their spears thrown desperately, but blocked by the giant shield of the Earth Bear.
The fierce and robust Deep Diver Guard, though clad in hard scales, couldn't withstand the cutting and stabbing of human blades. Splitting Blade's giant cleaver swung like a bloodthirsty millstone, cutting down two or three fishmen with every slash. Meanwhile, the small Udo wielded his daggers with lightning speed, targeting the throats and vital organs of the fishmen. The rest of the team, like tigers descending the mountain, revealed their sharp fangs as they tore through the Deep Diver Guard.
In just a short moment, the forty to fifty fishmen in the Deep Diver Guard were thrown into disarray, suffering the loss of several lives. The guard team's charge had only lasted a minute or two, but they had already taken down more than a dozen fishmen. The remaining ones were all injured to some extent.
The team's system of "coordinated combat" began to show its effectiveness. Though the guard team had never fought together in this manner before, they were now cooperating with impressive skill, cutting down the enemy one by one. Ryan had been forced to retreat step by step, his vision blood-red. Seeing the water still half-kneeling on the ground, fury surged within him. With a block to evade a cleaver's strike from Scar, he feigned a thrust with his trident and charged toward the water.
"Die, die, die—" he yelled as he raised his trident.
A shadow suddenly blocked the water's body.
Clang—
