Chapter 7 - NEXOMORPH

"What..... Is going on?"

The sophisticated Kaiju stood frozen, dumbfounded as he watched the transformation unfolding before him. Ashiro's limp body began to twitch, then convulse, dark tendrils of mist oozing from his skin in dense waves, swirling around him like the smoke of a devouring fire. His flesh rippled and twisted, transforming from the soft, vulnerable body of a child into something monstrous-and entity of pure chaotic darkness.

Ashiro's morphed first, the once familiar and well structured face dissolving into a horrifying void, a pitch-black hold where his head had been, an abyss that seemed to pull all light, even all life, into it's infinite depths. His skin darkened to a sickly, viscous purple, glistened with a slimy, unnatural sheen that pulsed in time. His limbs elongated, fingers twisted into sharp, claw-like appendages that seemed made to tear, to ravage, to annihilate.

"Is... Is this.... The rumored Nexomorphs" The Kaiju stumbled back, mouth agape, as the creature that had once been Ashiro stood before him, exuding a presence of overwhelming malice and hunger. Yet, even as he scrambled, disbelief clouded his judgement, a part of him clinging to the slightest hope that he could control or contain this entity.

But the harsh reality befell on him like a hammer as in one swift, nightmarish motion, Ashiro lunged at him, his clawed hand plunging into the Kaiju's chest with a sickening squelch. The Kaiju gasped, his body writhing as he felt the talons rip into him, sinking deep into his flesh. He tried to fight back, to strike at his abomination, but his strength was drained, his own life essence siphoned into the void of Ashiro's new form.

'How... Is this possible? He took away my essence!?' The Kaiju thought in sheer horror as Ashiro pulled his hand free, and with it came the Kaiju's pulsing, dripping heart, clenched tightly in his clawed grip. The Kaiju's wide eyes dimmed, his body going slack, as he watched his own heart pulse it's last few beats, dark blood pouring from the wound, coating Ashiro's twisted, otherworldly form.

'Warn... the others'

Splaa!!!

With cold, detached malice, Ashiro crushed the heart in his grip, the sickening crunch echoing through the chamber as blood splattered across his slimy, purple skin. The Kaiju's body collapsed to the floor, lifeless, reduced to nothing more than a broken shell in the presence of something far more terrifying, more chaotic, than anything it could have imagined.

But unfortunately for the lifeless Kaiju, it didn't end there for the heart. As Ashiro suddenly placed his now deformed heart close to his head which is filled with infinite abyss. And in not less than a minute, the heart slowly yet disgustingly got absorbed by the Ashiro's head.

Shplee!! Shplee!!

And suddenly, in a speed of light, dark tendrils attached all over the ship itself suddenly extended towards Ashiro in the hopes of restricting his movements while the doors to the heart of the ship suddenly swinged open as several Kaijus both the common types and the ones who brought Ashiro into the place rushed into the hall in groves.

Grrrr!!! Grrrr!!!

Grrrr!!!!

It seems like the Kaijus could recognize who is now lifeless on the floor as they suddenly made really loud and uncomfortable growling sounds while they approached Ashiro even faster. But before both the tendrils and the Kaijus could get to him, Ashiro slowly yet steadily extended his arms at his sides while the world seems to slow down and then, clenched his twisted looking fists.

Bang!!! Bang!!!! Bang!!!

And in a heartbeat, both the tendrils and the Kaijus rushing towards him suddenly exploded the same second as dark green colored blood splattered all over the hall like a bucket of paint being poured all over an unpainted building. But Ashiro didn't seem to care how disgusting that might be as he suddenly turned to face a particular area in the chamber with an ominous vibe all around him.

Grrr....

Grrrr.....

Unannounced, the life forms that were still trapped in the sacs which is hung on the walls of the chamber began to make growling sounds while they began to struggle to get out of the sac. But it seems like it wasn't time for them to be out of the sacs as no matter what they do, they couldn't even make a mark on the sac much less set themselves free from it.

But all this didn't concern Ashiro one bit as he yet again slowly stretched out his arms as the world slowed down in anticipation of what he is about to do. But what he did this time was vastly different to what he did earlier as his head filled with endless abyss suddenly and shockingly began to expand as it consumed whatever it touches, either the lifeless Kaijus and the deformed tendrils.

It seems like the lifeforms in the sac understood what was going on as they became even more frantic in their attempt of getting out of the sac. But everything they did was all for naught as they couldn't do anything to the sacs with their strength alone.

And so, slowly yet now filled with despair, the lifeforms watched as the infinite abyss approached them and inevitably consumed them too. And not long after, Ashiro's head finally consumed the whole heart of the ship. But what he did obviously has consequences.

Boom!!!

The effect of Ashiro consuming the very heart of the ship was for the ship suddenly exploding as dark green blood spread all over the skies while Ashiro was now no where to be found.

...

"What was that?" A girl suddenly asked in utmost vigilance as she looked towards a particular area in a forest. The girl stood out even amongs the dense forest, her sky-blue hair falling in uneven, windswept strands that reached just below her shoulders, framing her face with a hauntingly ethereal beauty. Her dark blue eyes, deep as a midnight ocean, held a glint of resilience and calm determination, reflecting countless battles and close calls.

She was clad in rugged, post-apocalyptic gear—a fitted, dark leather jacket with worn patches, reinforced at the elbows and shoulders with metallic studs that glinted dully under faint light. Beneath the jacket, she wore a gray, high-necked, tactical shirt that hugged her frame, with armored plating sewn across the chest and sides for added protection. A utility belt, laden with vials, pouches, and strange, unknown gadgets, hung low around her hips, while a pair of fingerless gloves gripped her weapon with a steady hand. Her pants were dark and durable, showing signs of heavy use, tucked into scuffed combat boots with thick soles meant for traversing both urban ruins and wild wastelands.

In her grasp was a strange, unique weapon—a hybrid of advanced technology and raw practicality. It looked like a cross between a sniper rifle and a pulse cannon, with a long, sleek barrel that tapered into a series of illuminated blue coils along its spine. The weapon hummed faintly, a low, almost melodic sound that pulsed in sync with her breathing. Its core seemed to contain some sort of crystalline energy, encased in transparent, reinforced glass, glowing faintly with an inner, volatile power that suggested it was as much a relic of the old world as it was a tool of survival.

On her back was a holster for the weapon, adapted with ease of reach and crafted to match her needs for swift, agile movement. She carried herself with a quiet confidence, the kind that only came from surviving the impossible, a figure poised between beauty and lethality, ready to face whatever awaited her in this desolate world.

'Don't tell me we missed it?' The girl thought in shock as she looked more intensely towards that same area in the forest.
