Ashiro's eyes snapped open as he jolted back into consciousness. His body felt heavy, his mind sluggish, and his chest ached as if something inside him had been torn apart. Blinking rapidly, he realized he was lying on one of the long couches in the bunker's living room. The dim light which was set in the room flickered faintly, casting uneven shadows across the room.
As his gaze adjusted, he noticed his teammates gathered in one corner of the living room. Lady Naga stood apart from the rest, her expression unreadable yet solemn. She carefully took Kaguya's shield, still marked with the claw marks from the Terradrake that had taken her life, and hung it on the wall. Her hands lingered on the shield for a moment, her shoulders tense as though bearing the weight of an unbearable loss.
