Chapter Nine
Sylvie tried her best to not let Greg's words deter her liveliness, but there's this shaky feeling attached to his words that stuck onto her ever since he said it and left.
Is someone gonna be after her life now that she's returned? Or worse, come for her babies? Or was he just pulling that stunt because she didn't allow a conversation to hold between them?
A lot of things ran through her mind, and it was obvious throughout her lunch break with Troye. He had tried to know what went wrong with her mood, but Sylvie never spilled and would just divert his attention.
Their break was soon over and she returned back to her office still full of glum.
She had just sat down by her desk when the landline provided on her table began ringing, the sudden shrill sound almost jerking her out of her seat. She glanced over at Mikel, to see whether he got bothered, but his head remain buried on whatever he's clicking away on that computer.
He never left the office, he just keeps ghosting her presence to the point of not even reacting to when she opened his office door and walked in.
Sylvie grabbed the landline and answered the call, "Hello?" She spoke into the phone.
"Kindly relay to MA that he has a guest with the name, Aaron Sins down here at the reception claiming he has an appointment with him." A male voice spoke back.
"Uhm… oh.. Ohkay," she hadn't even finished answering yet when he ended the call.
Sylvie trailed her gaze back to Mikel, how was she going to relay the message to him when he made it clear that she mustn't speak to him unless he gives her the permission to.
He really must have had it worse with his wife's betrayal, I mean they were married and he was deeply in love with her. She recalled back to her days with them, when she worked for them as a maid.
Mikel was such a sweet man that he wouldn't do a weekend without treating his wife to exotic dates and dinners, he'd shower her with expensive gifts for she was a stay at home wife for him.
The wife has a collection of gifts from Mikel that Sylvie always helped her neat every Saturday, the set has golds, gems, crystals of her favorite colors. Mikel really loved her.
Just like how she loved Dylan, there's nothing she wouldn't sacrifice for Dylan's happiness then. She believed he was her soulmate, and then she left he was just using her, that he actually never loved her.
He broke her, but she handled it better compare to Mikel who decided to hate on every living female on earth because of what one did to him.
And now she has a message to give him but doesn't know how. Is this also the man she was going to tell about his kids, she hasn't really think much about it.
However, looking at her situation her head couldn't help bringing it up. He's definitely deny them, and sack her; if anything, that's the one thing doesn't want.
Left with no choice, "You have a guest downstairs with the name Aaron Sins, he claims to have an appointment with you. Should he be sent up here or?…" she indirectly spoke to him. She said what she had to said without calling for his attention, but saying it out loud for him to hear.
She glanced at him to see him finally pulling his head off from his computer to look at her, his cold eyes locked hers quickly in a deep gaze, "Were you talking to me?" He questioned in a raspy tone.
Sylvie had lost herself in his gaze, albeit it was cold but still fill with allure. He was a sight to behold, how could his wife fumbled a man like him? Good looking, tall, sexy, and rich.
Has he always looked this handsome, or she was always blind to his attractiveness because she was in love with her shitty ex.
"I asked you a question, hence the right to answer me and speak to me," his snappy voice jolted Sylvie out of her trance.
She blinked, looking away all flustered. "Yes.. uhm.. yes… I got a call from downstairs telling me to tell you about a guest of yours who claimed to have an appointment with you, he goes by the name Aaron Sins."
"Go on out and meet with him, take him to the conference room, and tell him I'd join him there in the next few minutes," he instructed, going back to what he was doing.
"Noted Sir." Sylvie instantly pushed to motion, walking out of the office and making her way downstairs.
Thanks to her tour with Mikey, she's familiar with some places in the company. She was quick to locate the reception as it was around the company's exit and entrance, but she met more than one receptionist behind desks.
"I really am not liking this job so far," Sylvie muttered to herself silently as she walked up to one of the receptionist.
"Hey, good afternoon. I'm from Mr Addams, I'm here to escort his guest for his appointment with him, please where is he?"
"Who are you?" The guy quizzed in a disgusted manner, coming for her unprovoked.
"Mr Addams new personal assistant, so if you will, kindly hand his guest over to me." Sylvie flashed him a smile, doing her best to remain courteous.
"Since when does MA hire bitches," he mouthed in a low voice, but audible enough for Sylvie's ears. "Well, there he is," he gestured at the well fitted man sat by one of the executive chairs provided at the reception room.
Sylvie without saying anything else to him walked away and went to the guest, "Good afternoon Mr Sins, apologies for keeping you waiting. I'm Sylvie, Mr Addams newly hired personal assistant, and sent here to escort you to the conference room where your appointment with him will hold," she civilly articulated, peaking at the man's sides to see hefty men by his side.
Ugh! What's with rich people and guards?
"Interesting, please call me Aaron. Shall we?" He curved a flirty smile, standing up as he gestured for Sylvie to lead the way.
Sylvie feigned ignorance to his smile, and proceeded to taking them away.
"Sylvie darling, I hope you wouldn't mind me complimenting what a beauty you are," the man complimented from behind.
"Thank you Sir," she responded, albeit a little confused on why the man would be showing admiration.
They arrived at the conference room, and Sylvie told him to wait that Mikel would be with him in a second. She doesn't know if she'd be allowed to stay in the room with them while they discuss, but Incase she would be, her job mandated her to note down every important points made during the meeting.
She excused herself, rushing back to her office to go grab her pen and notepad. She arrived at the sight of Mikel packing up, and probably coming to them.
"I'm here for my pen and notepad," she informed, even though he wasn't asking.
He just stood there and watched her ran to her seat, picked what she needed. Just when she was leaving, her phone began ringing inside her handbag.
She turned back, took out the phone and stared confusingly at the screen. She was hesitant in picking the call.
"Hello?"
"Hello, please you must be Sylvie Richard, the triplet's mother. I'm calling to inform you about something that happened here-"
"What happened to my kids!" Sylvie yelled into the man's sentence, fear immediately masking her face.
