Chereads / Affair With My Ex's Billionaire Father / Chapter 9 - Never Forget Me

Chapter 9 - Never Forget Me

I was still shaken by the events of the night. After Milo let me go, I didn't waste time running as far away from him as I could. I hated crying but I couldn't control myself.

What had I done for the universe to punish me like that?

Milo was more dangerous than I thought. I didn't know what I expected from a man who was named 'Death'.

"Take me to my friend's house. I have some things to get from there." I said to Boris. He looked at me through the rearview mirror and said, "Milo–"

"Milo will understand. Does he want me to stop seeing my friends too?"

Boris sighed and drove to Zoya's apartment. Her father owned a string of apartments and she lived in the penthouse suite of one. I had the code for her apartment.

I needed to speak to her urgently. Everything was getting so overwhelming and I didn't think that I could handle it alone.

Fuck the non-disclosure agreement. What Milo didn't know wouldn't kill him.

When I realized Boris was following after me as I went into Zoya's building, I turned to him and glared.

"Wait in the car. This is a secure building. Nothing will happen to me."

Clearly, he was assigned to be my bodyguard. He tailed me everywhere

Finally, Boris relented and stayed in the car.

As soon as I got to the penthouse, I unlocked it and stepped in. Zoya's spacious living room came into view. I didn't see her anywhere and the penthouse was dark.

It seemed like there was no one home. Just when I thought to turn around and leave, I heard moans.

Zoya was screaming like a wanton woman in pleasure. A man's groans could be heard as well.

I thought she was engaged to a man from the Sicilian mafia that she had yet to meet. She wasn't supposed to have company. She hadn't told me anything about a love interest.

Realizing her sex life wasn't any of my business, I started to leave.

"Oh God…Ivan! Fuck me harder!" She screamed. "Yeah, just like that!"

I froze. That name.

There was no way Zoya would do that to me. She wouldn't sleep with Ivan knowing how badly things ended the last time I saw him.

I had to see for myself if it was true. I made my way upstairs where they were having sex. I contemplated just leaving and assuming I didn't know anything but curiosity got the best of me.

I clutched the door handle and opened her bedroom door. Sure enough, Ivan was on top of Zoya thrusting into her like there was no tomorrow. Her nails scraped his back, leaving a trail of blood in their wake.

I stood there watching them like a creep until Zoya spotted me. She pushed Ivan away hurriedly and tried to cover up.

She grabbed the nearest robe and put it on. She looked guilty as fuck. What she didn't know was that I didn't care that she was sleeping with Ivan. I cared that she would get caught by her father and get married off to an old man.

I cared that Ivan was nothing but a jerk who would eventually hurt her.

"I–It's not what it looks like…"

She got off the bed and walked towards me while Ivan lay on the bed without covering himself up. He was smirking.

"There's blood on your neck, Em. What happened?" She deflected and asked.

I touched my neck and sure enough, there was blood there. Dried blood. Milo must have left stains when he grabbed my neck with his bloody fingers.

It was a good thing I had on a black tank top. Otherwise, he would have left a bloody handprint when he grabbed my waist.

"It's not my blood."

"You've been crying…" Zoya said. I couldn't tell if she was trying to distract me from the fact that I had caught her fucking my ex or if she was genuinely very worried about my well-being.

I feared it was the former.

Grabbing her hand, I pulled her away from Ivan's earshot and glared at her.

"What the fuck is he doing in your house?" I asked her.

She looked away. I could tell she was getting ready to lie or cry so I wouldn't confront her.

"Answer me! You promised me you would stay away from him two years ago. Can't you see? Ivan ruins everything he touches."

"He has changed–"

She was cut off by my sarcastic laughter. Surely, she wasn't that naive. That man was not capable of changing.

Ivan had texted me a night ago talking about how he missed me and he made a mistake by leaving me. He wanted to meet and see where things would go from there. I had ignored him and he had resulted in fucking my best friend.

He was a two-timing bastard who lacked empathy–just like his father. There wasn't anything he could say that would convince me he was a good guy.

"Don't mock me. You and Ivan broke up two years ago. I have every right to sleep with him. You and I both know you never had feelings for him."

"After how he and I ended? Do you want a repeat of two years ago? Zoya, he is nothing but trouble and you're inviting him back to ruin our friendship."

"I hear you but he and I are just fucking."

"If your father finds out–"

"He won't and you won't tell anyone about this."

I shook my head and started to walk away. I couldn't deal with her drama. She lived a privileged life where she didn't have to worry about anything. I couldn't say the same for myself.

"Em! You didn't tell me why your clothes are bloody!" She yelled as she came after me.

I stopped and turned.

"I can't believe you would sleep with him after what he did two years ago–after what you did. Why would you betray me with him twice, Zoya?"

She looked down with guilt. Just as she was about to speak, Ivan showed up behind her and kissed her neck. He held her in his arms as he looked me straight in the eyes.

"Don't be jealous, Emilie. I choose Zoya, not you. Just like I did two years ago."

I shook my head at him. He was trying to make me out to be a jealous ex-girlfriend.

"Glad to see you haven't changed one bit," I spat at him.

I turned around and left. I didn't even reach the reception before I got another text from Ivan.

It said:

I'm never letting you forget me.
