Chereads / The Undead of Death / Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

Time paased, Jack was still stuck in the battlefield or the previously calm boss room of the dungeon. With its remnants still apparent.

The lich is gone, The adventurers burrned to ashes of blood, The door put down at the entrance blocked by heavy rocks and debrie.

All Jack did at the moment were contemplate his situation and recover from the backlash of switching bodies. Honing his soul and spirit, from being fragile as a bottle, to be comparable to a brick.

At first look on the world, He was not able to sense the supernatural or laws of the worlds and to even grasp them. And even if he knew what the Laws were he wouldn't be able to grasp it. But when he experienced that insurmountable horrors within the hands of death, in its infesting hands surrounding his soul and erasing it from existence.

He gained enlightenment from it. Reaching a new plane of existence where he could muster and interact with the laws, but he was still limited to the Human standard.

'Such wonderful experience, i hope it never happens again... Though it did come with some enlightenment... '

Remembering how each strand of his consciousness were stripped at that moment, it felt ethereal, something that he could only ever experience once in a lifetime. The feeling of unending death, holding his throat tightly enough to let him experience the endless swarm of larva devour him alive.

Innately Jack had a very deep understanding of laws beforehand, but what came after his enlightenment was a whole new realm. Completely rewiring his mind to understand the concepts better.

He could only dream of the day he will be able to use such laws, as he is an undead that had no prior medium to cultivate.

Lich: An Artificial Undead made from the supreme magus body and understanding, slowly turning one magic to deathly manifestation. Till the magus itself turns himself to an undead creature.

The system prompt came, answering his doubts furhter more implying the possibility.

'Even if the Lich's body is compatible to cultivate laws, but how would i even manage or store them... '

Artificial Lower Lich

Enhanced manifestation.

Innate Law: Law of ???

Intial Law: Law ???

The system shunned his doubts once again, The darkness shone from the interface as Jack read it.

'Innate Law? Initial Law? Why is there even a question mark? Shouldn't it be a given for the system to understand them? '

Against Jack's retort, The system couldn't show any more information.

'Unless i have to comprehend them for it to show up? '

Innate Law: Law of Comprehension!

After the system gave out its last prompt for Jack, it turned silent and did not continue guiding him by bread crumbing the idea it was giving.

A long while after the System stopped answering. Jack finnaly caught on it, as he began to understand himself a bit more with each question that he had for the system.

'If you're not giving me what i need, Then what's the use of even having you... '

Time passed again. Jack didn't have any epiphany afterwards the initial confrontation with the system, even after what he did.

Rummaging trough the bodies, he saw that some of them has yet to die or lost thier lost, seemingly trapped in the charred and ruined body of thiers. But as Jack took the chance to possibly gain experience by double killing them.

The system didn't prompt anything, only silence from the void as Jack screamed.

'Is it because i wasn't the one to kill them? Or is it that the system doesn't have that feature... What a kind of system is it, I don't even know what it does... '

The system continued to play and ruin Jack's logic from the impression of the world was INFINITE WORLDS. Each tweak of his logic lead him to lose his memory and heart slowly.

Time passed. For an Undead, Time was nothing but an illusion of motion between the different states of existing, from birth till one's death. Everything is nothing but an illusion.

And Jack was not exempted by this type. He was far from being human even way back when he was one, as he lacked common morals and human emotion to even understand society. Resulting him to be seen as an eunuch by others and his friends, a closeted person by nature.

'I have already gone trough everything, but why isn't there any prompt? Is Law of understanding that meager that it give me nothing... On the other hand, i really didn't do that much when I think about it... '

A monotonous hell. Time passed yet nothing seemd to change, The flora grew and flona give birth to another, but nothing happened.

'I can't waste my second life just standing here! '

Unable to accept his fate of being secluded from the rest of the world, he sat cross-legged and entered his soul to continue refining what was once broken.

'If i can't leave, Then no one can! '

He pleaded, engraving an oath deep within him. Unknown that such statements would entail in his fate changing forever.

Time passed. Jack's complacent feeling had not yet to leave him, as his continuous torture of silence took over...

10 year cultivation!

30 year cultivation!

50 year cultivation!

70 year cultivation!

90 year cultivation!

100 year cultivation!

In his deep state. Jack couldn't notice the building prompts from the system, his senses dulled from reality as he sunk to the unknown abyss.

'What is the existence of everything in itself against the death and life of its being in time, over grace under faith? but transcendence. '

The law of Comprehension dwelled well within Jack's mental soul, going over the skeleton figure manifestation, The light that guided him out of his endless suffering grew stronger as the skeleton change.

Slowly reverting to its old self, from the lich to his old body and the figure he had when he was human. An amalgamation of figures shared the body, conversely changing thier state from one another.

Forming a collective soul, The three personification of Jack continued to harness the thread of light that dwelled in his soul. And over the time that Jack sat trough the ball of light containing his essence or existence identity, it had gone trough ever stage of his life, phasing his memory to become more clear than what it was, harnessing all the concepts he may have comprehended along the way.

Lower cultivator undead!

Enhanced manifestation!

Innate Law: Law of Comprehension!

Initial Law: Lesser Law of Death! Lesser Law of Understanding!

Two new formed Laws have been Cultivated by the three Spirits around the ball of light. Though it may have been lesser grade, but it was enough for him.

Law of Death, Garnered from the repeated Death and personally experiencing the gnawing Larva of Death.

Law of Understanding, A lesser Law compared to Comprehension, Garnered from the seclusion within the Dungeon.

'Two law's, yet nothing of use. Befitting for an undead, but a typical impression of the world or a compatibility against my kind, But understanding? Where did it even come from, if it is from comprehension then its understandable... '

As Jack continued to think, he finally regained consciousness, while feeling the burden he had previously gone.

'I'm back to where i was before, But better! '

The Lich's firgid gold body turned to ashes, molting by time and constant Spiritual refining, scattering its golden skin around Jack.

Reborn a new, The sensation around his whole body is now more coordinated than before, developing a more flexible movement and alert domain around him.

Yet for some reason, Jack, who had been cultivating crudely by his own understanding of cultivation, felt comfort like no other. As if connected to his surroundings with even the smallest change in the air vissble to his eyes, with a hinge of glow around everything he feels.

A stream of lines simmilar to the endowed enlightenment brewed around him, waving ineach movement that he made. Simmilar to flawless movement, The strain of moving his body significantly reduced.

Suddenly He froze.

'Could cultivation really be this easy, Or am i just innately good. But there's still the system, maybe I'm just boosted and should stay humble and continue to cultivate... '

But he still held on the thought of it being all by himself.

And Just as he ended his thought, a surge of energy dwelled well within his body Cruise fiercely, surging trough his body.

Jack stabilized himself, but at a cost of him Lossing consciousness. The subtle energy that phased him were simmilar to the one he experienced before.

'Not this again! '

Unlike his the one before, Jack immediately gained consciousness and soon got back up.

With the first thing he noticed was the strange prompt from the system, darker than most color the screen reflected the abyss unlike any other.

Undead Beast Taming System Awakened!

'Undeas beast Taming? That's fill in words... But why would such systems be with me of all people? I'm more alone than a secluded rock that has been thrown in to the ocean... '

However the system proved him otherwise, as beams of light surrounds himself and hundreds more in the dead bodies in the battlefield.

but even with his two Laws that governs assessment of anything under the heaves were not able to see trough the light. Mystic floating light above the dead, and also one around himself.

'But why is there no light in my body and some of the adventurers? Is it souls? Or even life force? '
