Chapter: The Weight of the Night
The room was quiet, save for the faint hum of electronic devices and the subtle rustle of wings as Sona and Tayo hovered gently near Adam.
The sun had fully set, and its last golden rays had long disappeared, leaving the sky blanketed in inky darkness.
Outside the window, the evening stretched on in silence, the world beyond lost in shadow.
Inside the room, the lights flickered on automatically, casting a dim, artificial glow across the walls.
The light pooled softly around Adam, who sat motionless in his chair. His face was turned toward the bed, his expression partially obscured by the shadow of his lowered head.
Both hands were folded tightly atop his knees as he sank deeper into thought, the weight of the day pressing heavily on his shoulders.
Behind him, the faint outline of his desk and computer sat in the background, an almost forgotten presence in his moment of isolation.
