The daylight loomed heavy with tension. Adam lay on a rooftop, his breathing labored as he tried to steady himself. Blood trickled steadily from a gash in his hand, the pain a dull throb against the rush of adrenaline. The loose stones scattered across the ground around Gus and Hang began to tremble, then rose into the air as if caught in an invisible vortex.
"Telekinesis attack!" Adam declared, his voice echoing across the deserted surroundings.
