His eyes, twin points of purple light, tracked the faintest shifts in the trees, waiting for the leader to strike again.

'Temporal acceleration,' Alex muttered inwardly, ignoring those words as he increased his speed by moving his time faster. He was well aware of the difference; it was the reason for his seriousness.
