Chapter 15 - CHAPTER 14 - Alex’s Plan.

Mira, one of the heroines with no surname, or at least the ones with their surnames yet to be revealed in the ongoing novel that Sophie had read, was supposed to never speak.

The novel had already progressed to the point when Mira, who was a 16-year-old right now, had turned 21, yet till that moment, she never spoke.

She wasn't able to, or it was just that she preferred staying like that was still unknown, as she wasn't discovered much in the story, but no one had ever heard her voice.

This inability to speak had brought her many troubles in the novel as a beautiful girl who couldn't speak wasn't something anyone would want to ignore, much less the bullies.

It was all thanks to her special physique, but no one knew that—other than Vannesa, that is.

In the whole novel, only Vannesa is shown to know some things about Mira, but that is all.

That, however, changed today.

On the first day of Alex gaining his memories, he was already seeing a change that was out of his calculation—this was the reason why Alex frowned when he heard Mira speak.

But he soon waved it off.

He wasn't a guy like the protagonist of the novel—one who had transmigrated into this world with complete knowledge of everything—who would try to not mess with the plot a lot.

He would destroy the plot if he thought it was a necessary thing to do.

Vannesa, on the other hand, had her brows creased because she knew Mira's past, and she knew that the girl had never uttered a word her whole life.

'So, why now?'

This was what she wanted to know.

Her expression soon returned to normal, seemingly not thinking about it, but her mind was still occupied with the same thing.

Mira was the only one she had seen with a physique somewhat similar to herself, so she wanted to look at every single detail about the changes Mira goes through.

Unlike the original plot, where Vannesa takes Mira in a discipline and treats her as a daughter, in the changed plot, she picks Mira out of curiosity and hope.

She did feel sympathy for Mira, and she would protect the girl, but the main focus she was going to have was finding a solution for herself and Mira's condition with the girl's help.

"W-Why would the attention shift toward L-Lucious?"

So, the moment she heard Mira's question, she decided to let go of the topic for now and think about it later.

For now, her cold eyes turned toward Alex, wanting to see what answer he would give.

She, who had an idea of what he was going to do, didn't really bother asking him that question, but now that Mira had already let it out, then she might as well listen to what Alex wanted to do.

Alex, however, instead of answering Mira's question, just smiled at her, his expression turning a bit playful as he stared at his palm.

'I just need to focus?'

He questioned inwardly, as it was his first time doing it, and although this was the most basic thing, he was somehow really excited to do it.

[Yes, just focus on what you want to do, and since it's your first time, try to blank your mind before you do it.]

Alex's question was answered by Sophie without a second delay, as she had already seen this question coming.

As said before, in the past 16 years, she had done nothing but think of questions and their answers.

She used to make up scenarios where Alex would ask a certain question and then prepare an answer for the said question.

She did so in order to gain experience working as a system.

She didn't want to end up stammering at the moments when Alex needed her the most.

'Alright, love; thanks.'

Alex, who heard Sophie's words and felt her feelings, smiled sweetly as if sending an arrow with cute written over it straight for Sophie's heart.

{Ghhhh!}

Sophie, inside the system space, wearing the same dress she wore at the time she died, was now sitting in a blank white room with nothing but a bed in it while pressing her chest with a pained expression, as if she were really hit by that arrow.

Alex, however, remained oblivious to such things.

He just closed his eyes for a second, removing every single thought from his head, going completely blank, and the next second...

*Woosh*

A swirling mass of black energy appeared on top of Alex's palm; its presence alone turned the atmosphere a bit eerie, as if trying to show the ones in the room that it was evil.

Unfortunately for the poor dark mass of energy, none of the ones in the room were affected by it.

Alex opened his eyes, elation clear in his eyes as he stared at the thing in his palm before he turned to look at Mira, whose expression didn't seem to have faltered even a bit.

But it was nothing shocking for Alex. Mira was a girl who would keep staring at her death in the same way, much less some meager mass of energy.

"You see this mass of energy in my palm?"

So he questioned, eliciting a nod from her.

"What does this bring to mind for you?"

Alex, however, went on, asking another question.

"A-Archbishop's attack."

Mira, still a bit rough with her voice, unable to speak perfectly, answered Alex's question, showing how hard she was trying to speak.

"Yes, what would others assume if they found this around the girl's body?"

Alex smiled brighter as he clenched his fist, making the mass of black energy, which was the death element, break into particles before vanishing.

Yes, Alex was using magic, and he was the one who was most delighted by it, almost jumping in glee but somehow controlling himself.

One of the elements he had awakened was the death element, and yes, 'one of the elements', which meant that Alex had other elements awakened as well.

His question, however, caused Mira to go silent for a while, as if contemplating something before she spoke.

"L-Lucious."

"Yes, Lucious, that will be the first thought that crosses their minds, as he is the one responsible for their sorrow."

Alex nodded his head at Mira's attempt to speak, and now it seemed that she had used up all of her fuel already, making it harder for her to speak a single word.

"So, in summary, we will kill the girl without taking the blame for it, eliminate a person who could become potential evidence, and buy ourselves enough time to erase any trace of our previous actions in the hall."

Alex finally turned to look at his mother, and Vannesa, who knew half of the things Alex was saying, finally understood his intentions, nodding her head lightly.

'Erasing traces...'

This was a very important thing that had slipped her mind.

But no one could actually blame her for that, as she was a mother whose son turned out to be a way bigger monster—in terms of talent—than her.

Although she couldn't show it out in public, she was just too happy to think of anything else right now.

But as soon as the words 'traces' registered in her mind, an image of a certain item colored in black, shaped like a rock, with a red button-like mark over it flashed past her eyes, causing them to sharpen.

Her gaze turned toward Alex, ready to question him about how he knew about the devilization artifact in Lucious's possession.
