I laid myself lazily upon my bed as I scrolled through an endless catalog of distractions on my phone.
No friends, no motivation, and no work to give myself a sense of significance.
But in the end, it never really mattered to me.
After all, all these ideal things are just distractions to make yourself feel alive.
Your career? A distraction.
Your family? A distraction.
Truthfully, having nothing to do scares me. What am I if I have nothing to do?
Yet here I am, being a useless burden on my parents. I got bored of being 'perfect' at academics. And frankly didn't care if I failed.
Granted, my parents look down at me with disdain as they reprimand me for having no motivation to work or study.
Letting out a sigh, I got bored of thinking of myself.
I won't force myself to dwell on this much longer.
My eyes landed on a comment section of a novel I was about to read.

Turning off my phone, I thoughtfully decided...
I wasn't reading that.
A few seconds later, I heard a knock on my bedroom door.
'Hm?'
Before I could reply, an older female voice came from the other side.
"Hey, take the bus to your grandmother's. She wants you to do some chores at her house."
Replying in a quiet 'okay,' I dragged myself out of bed. Putting on a hoodie and slipping on a pair of worn sandals.
After 10 or so minutes I finally reached the bus stop.
The air was cold and reflected each breath I took. The only sound out here was the constant hum coming from nearby traffic.
Taking out my phone, I scrolled through the catalog of novels that could potentially distract me for a bit..
5 minutes...
10 minutes..
15 minutes.
Constantly look at the time on my phone. It's been 15 minutes since I arrived at the bus stop. And that useless thing is late.
Sighing and rubbing my temples, I thought to myself.
'This always happens!'
'Huh?'
Just as I was about to complain more, a large black bus appeared next to the curb. Stalling right in front of the bus stop. I observed as the black glass doors slowly slid open.
'Did the city change the bus design..? Whatever.'
I shrugged the odd feeling off me as I stepped onto the bus.
Sitting in the left side of the bus, I took out my wired headphones and plugged them into my ears.
The ride went on for a few moments before my eye caught the digital sign on the front of the bus.
[NEXT STOP UANNE]
'Ah.. That's not my stop.. '
I blinked as I reread the sign, my anxiety growing faster as the bus sped up on the road.
Hesitating, I turned my head around to inspect the bus. All the seats were empty.
Realizing this, my heatrate increased drastically. My hands shook as I slowly took out my headphones and put them away in my pocket.
Standing up, I carefully treaded towards the bus driver.
"Excuse me sir.."
No response. I tried taking a closer look at him but his face was partially obscured by his low-brimmed hat. All I could note was his short black hair.
Gently tapping his shoulder, I tried again.
"Sir.."
The bus started to move faster. Panicking, I grabbed onto the bus drivers seat and looked up at the front.
'Shit..!'
'What the hell? Is this maniac trying to kill me?'
Before I could do anything. The large bus slammed right into a large truck and several other cars in traffic.
-Screech!
I felt my consciousness go out. Desperate, I extended my arm towards the bus driver. Yet, the small light I had left was quickly running out.
Sprawled on the floor of the bus. A strong pain came from my abdominal area. Touching my stomach, my hand soon became covered on blood.
It felt like I was about to die..
.. No. I was going to die.
-Pant Pant Pant
'Not like this.. '
Noticing the bus drivers hat not so far in front of me, I crawled towards it.
'Please..'
Just as my hand was about to make contact with the hat, everything changed.
Suddenly I wasn't bleeding anymore.
I wasn't in that damned bus either.
My body felt lighter, and I laid on back on a rather comfy surface.
"Is this heaven?" I spoke out loud.
As soon as I heard my voice I covered my mouth.
'Huh? Who's voice is that?'
