-HighBrook Castle-
Nia HighBrook, dressed in a white blouse with a lilac design around the hems, and jeans, with a matching set of gold earrings, necklace, and bracelet. It was not the flashy appearance expected of the first princess, but she was still looking her absolute best. Her golden blonde hair, glimmered with the complimentary jewelry, and the blouse made her purple eyes even more stunning. She was seated at the head of an exquisite dining room table, an empty plate was being taken away by a maid, as Nia's eyes surveyed everyone in the room. Each seat of the table was filled with those most trusted by the princess. She had ordered them all here, late last night with an important request. None would be foolish enough to disobey a direct order. They all patiently waited for Nia to finish her breakfast before given their orders. With the war brewing, everyone had been on high alert, doing all they could for the betterment of their country.
Nia stood from her seat, keeping eye contract with the room, she begun
'As many of you are already aware, we had a major victory against Bayonetta! The ground Dragon was killed, and with that, the constant threat of an attack has ceased. Our people are sleeping soundly now! Yet, the war is still on going, growing uncertain with each passing day. But not for long! Today, the Dragon Slayer arrives in our city, under the guise of an adventurer. It is my duty to ensure the hero's commitment to our cause, and forever change the way of this war. I am destined to stand by his side. To be his wife, guardian and ally. The reason, I have called you all here today, is to help ensure that everything works out perfectly today, with no interruptions.'
After concluding her speech, Nia gave out specific roles and responsibilities to each person in the room. Some were servants, others guards, a few mages, and even a cook and barkeep. Nia saved no expense for today, yet she was still going undercover, meaning that stealth was crucial to her support. Her plan was to first meet with the hero, without him knowing her role in the country's politics. From there she would make him fall in love with her. Some might say finding one person in a city of tens of thousands is impossible, yet for Nia, she was utterly sure in her success. Her future husband will find her, she just needs to make herself available. Their love was fated ever since the day she was born. They would find each other, of that there was no doubt.
The day was beginning, yet for Nia there was no rush. After breakfast, she exchanged a few potential date ideas with her handmaidens, mostly about what to do after they meet, where to have dinner tonight, and what places they should visit when together.
Eventually, the midday was approaching, and the princess adventure began. Following her own hunch, Nia chose to visit one of her two favorite place's she use to visit as a child, The Oracle's botanical gardens. It was a subsection of their Twilight Glade's Garden, known for their twilight trees, who only bloom at night.
She felt it was best to get a grasp of the city, having planned activities prior to 'accidentally' finding the summoned hero, so with the plan set in motion, Nia began her plan.
Making sure, that she was accompanied by her first handmaiden, Elle, a viscounts daughter, while the rest of her protective service was hidden through the capital, following her every step. The two of them got ready together and headed for the garden.
Soon enough, an hour past. Nia felt that as the afternoon was starting, it was time to leave the garden, heading out towards the entrance, Nia overheard a large commotion. The crowd seemed to be screaming and getting out of the way, as a large black magical beast stampeded the street headed for the garden. Being an upper three tier mage, Nia gathered her mana and was ready to make a move.
Yet, the beast was too quick, in a motion almost to quick for her eyes to see the black four legged create leaped into the air, over the fence blocking the garden from intruders. Approaching from her shadow, it got close enough for Nia to feel its breath on her neck right before it… licked her face from chin to forehead. The beast made perfect eye contract, wagging its tail feverishly, just waiting to be pet. Nia stared back into the big brown eyes, understanding it meant no harm.
'Halt, this beast is with me'
Knowing a battle was about to break out, she petted the top of the Wolf Hyrbid's head, while telling the public that she had everything under control. A few people recognized her, while the others noticed the Aura and confidence of a noble. Not wanting to get involved in the affairs of nobles, the majority of the crowd disappeared after her words.
With the attention off of Nia, she focused her magic into her eyes, which grew bright purple and analyzed the beast in front of her.
Ari Adler
Collie Wolf - (Race Extinct)
Upper Tier 4
Affinities: Shadow, Mind, Wind
Nia could only drop her mouth when she read this Wolf's stats. He was potentially stronger than all three magical beasts in Bayonetta, on top of being a 3 affinity beast. Ari was without a doubt the strongest being in all of Tyrn right now. Yet, just as she was beginning to ponder this outcome, a commanding voice came from the crowd.
'Ari!! Ari!! Where the hell did you go!! Come!'
The Collie wolf made quick movements, acknowledging it heard the call, but other than facing the direction of the oncoming voice, the collie didn't move. He was waiting.
Eventually, a young man; with brown hair, green eyes, and dark green armor appeared in front of her. He was tall, and muscular, but not well built. More lean, than meathead. Yet, with a well toned face; and an otherworldly aura; the man looking for his dog walked like he was the only person in this world that mattered. His eyes only briefly locked onto Nia, before taking in the Collie Wolf, who was now doings his best to find behind Nia.
'Ari! What the hell were you thinking! You cannot just go wherever you want. You know better than that. You were supposed to be the leader of your group. Yet, after smelling the first scent to catch your attention, you dart off like you are still a puppy! Leaving Ruby and Ronin alone. I am furious right now!'
It took a little time for Nia, to come to her senses. She was taken aback by the good looking man in front of her, but eventually she caught on to what he was saying.
'Don't get mad at him, he didn't hurt anyone. He was just coming to say hi. He couldn't help it'
The young man finally took his eyes off of the dog, and placed them on her.
'You are underestimating him. He knew exactly what he was doing and the consequences. Ari you need to apologize to Ronin and Ruby'
It was then that two more magic beasts made there presence known. One was a small white mouse, dressed in a kimono and straw hat, the other a black and red raven, perched on his shoulder. It seemed Ari was not his only spirit beast.
Ari's looking sad with his big puppy dog eyes, stared at both of the other creatures and slowly lowered his head, to admit to his errors. He had to meet Nia, when he smelled her scent, it was all he could think about. Ari knew he shouldn't have left his companions, but his urges took over, needing to follow the scent.
With the conversation coming to an end, an awkward silence fell on the group. Nia who observed she was on the outs, needed to keep it alive, but didn't know how.
"Ari, let's go, from now on we are sticking together. We didn't even get the chance to visit the library yet!"
With that, the young man, and his dog started walking in the other direction
"Wait!!"
The young man slowed his step, but didn't turn around
'You wouldn't be able to take your magical beasts into the library! It is forbidden'
With this, the man had a sour look on his face, clearly not happy that his day was ruined.
'Not unless, you go with me! I know the librarian, and he would make an exception if I accompanied you'
Knowing that he had no other option but to agree to Nia, the man nodded his head and said, 'please lead the way, this is my first time in the city'
Nia gave a head nod to her secret service, having them acknowledge where she was going and plan accordingly. After that she took the front of the group and led them north down the populated street. It was then Nia finally got a magical glimpse at the mysterious man
Jason Adler
Middle Tier 1
Affinity: Beast and Nature
Yet, this was all she saw. Nia had grown up mastering her eyes, and with extreme focus, she was able to look deeper, and she noticed two things, one was his affinity was so much deeper and vast than any she had ever encountered, and two, there was a sliver of a connection running straight from her to him…a connection crafted through the summoning ritual! He was the hero!
