Apocalypse school

October 31, Halloween.

Two students were going to college to get to their first class.

"Ok, what's a scary movie or show you think you could survive?"

The one talking was Zex; he was a black 19-year-old, about 5'7, skinny even though he was fed all the time, with pale white locs the color of snow,

locs that dropped past his eyes.

"Z, I gotta go with Scream all the way, man, the villains are normal people with a knife I just need a gun and somewhat good aim. "

The one that just answered was Nova, Another black man the same age as Zex, about 6'4, skinny buff from playing baseball for the last 5 years of his life, and pitch black hair styled into an afro. Nova was also Zex's best friend since the 1st grade.

" Ok, Nova, you never shot a gun in your life you would miss every shot."

"don't underestimate me."

"Ok, but hear me out though I would kick the shit out of Chucky. "

"That would be a great answer if he didn't have an army of dolls and some humans." 

"damn, your right."

The two held this conversation into their first class of the morning sadly, it was calculus. It was 10 AM, and everyone was dressed up for Halloween except Zex and Nova. Most of the students were wearing horror movie costumes, superhero costumes, and anime cosplay. Zex was wearing a dark black hoodie with Ghostface holding a knife on the front. Nova was wearing a blood-red hoodie, and in the middle, in black text, was Happy Halloween. They both went to their favorite seats in the back of the class. The professor walked into the class he was a white man standing at about 6 feet. The professor began the lesson just like normal.

Having calculus in the morning sucked for Zex. After all, he could never focus because he was off of no sleep. Most nights were spent playing games until about 2 AM, which was not good for his sleep, but he did not care. Today was a bit worse he was about to pass out mid-class, and the only thing keeping him awake was Nova nudging him awake.

"Z, were you up late at night again," Nova whispered.

"Yeah, I was stuck on a boss for way too long," Zex whispered.

"Come on, man, you know there will be a test on this. "

"Yeah, I know."

"Just make it to lunch you only have 2 hours to stay awake. "

"Ok, but if I go to sleep, pinch me."

"Ok, imma enjoy it, though."

Zex laughed under his breath, trying not to be too loud.

Leaving class felt like heaven for Zex, mostly because it was time for lunch, plus he could sleep. Zex and Nova stood in line, waiting for the lunchroom to open. Zex looked over to see a taller woman, about 6'5, walking more accurately, she was more limping than walking. She was dressed as a zombie, be it no sleep or not, she looked wat too real, even having fake blood all over her mouth.

"Hey, Nova, that's a cool costume, right."

"Who."

"That girl in the entrance."

"Oh yeah," both ended up looking at the woman.

Other people must have noticed because a random student walked over, most likely to complement the woman's costume. 

"Hey, that's a cool outfit-" The student didn't get to finish their sentence the woman bit into the student's neck.

The woman ripped out the student's larynx. The student grabbed at their necks as they fell to the ground in a pool of deep red blood. Another student went up to the student, who was lying in a pool of blood.

"what the hell, Jack, please tell me you're playing a joke, right?"

Before the other student could get back up from looking at his friend, the woman grabbed and bit a huge chunk out of the student.

"What the fuck" Zex yelled as he took a step back. 

The students began to run away from the woman in all directions.

Both Zex and Nova stood in horror as more than 75 people who looked just like the woman started to limp down the entrance. 

"Z, run," Nova yelled to Zex to get both of them to run to somewhere safer.

They both turned back to start running, only to see a bloodbath of more than 100 students and over 200 zombies.

"Where do we run to," Zex asked. 

"Run to the first class, you see" Nova replayed 

They both ran into the horror, dodging the zombies eating the people who were their classmates. The first classroom was the music room.

"Nova on the right," Zex yelled.

They both went up to the classroom, opened the door, and entered the classroom.

"Z, give me something to block the door," Nova yelled.

Zex chair from a random desk in the class and pressed it up under the door nob.

"Nova, what the hell was it that those people were eating other people?" 

"Z, I don't think those were people normal people don't bite out someone's vocal cords." 

"Are we safe in here?"

"I hope so, man."

Nova proceeded to turn the light off and sit to the right of the door. Zex sat right next to him. They both sat in darkness, hearing the chaos happening just outside the door, screaming, running, and the sound of blood and guts being stepped on. The horror of the new world has just begun for Zex and Nova.
