Kai watched as a wisp appeared in front of him, beckoning for him to follow. Amyla stared at her own, smiling as she watched it wave at her. She turned to Kai, somehow knowing exactly where he was.
"Hey, looks like we're going to be parting ways for now. Uh, I've been here for a few years, so I know pretty much anything if you need help." Then she nodded, waved a goodbye, and ran after her wisp.
Left alone with just his wisp, Kai took a second to think over everything that happened.
The girl he met... she was weird. But she was also pure. When he had breathed heavily, remembering when Etyrion had simulated suffocating him, she didn't hesitate to see if he was fine. Moreover, even if she was quiet she always wore a smile.
Similar to Est and his mother, Kai sensed no hostility from her and no reason to distrust her.
