Kai was relieved to find that his martial arts class hadn't lost any students. Not that they had many students to begin with.
The moment he entered the class, he could feel the heat of Kito's stare– almost like he was surprised Kai had survived. Kai smiled, knowing he would continue to be surprised. He wasn't planning on dying anytime soon.
He almost jumped at Anhita's chiming voice. It seemed like she always picked and chose when to speak– and her favorite times were when he least expected it. Annoyed by the fact he still hadn't mastered magical condensing, Kai walked over to the rack with the magical gloves and got himself a pair.
Then he walked back to his sparring partner, looking over to Kito as he did so. Even when Kai looked him directly in his eyes, Kito still wouldn't look away.
