A million thoughts invaded Kai's mind as he looked for Amyla. Ignoring the thump of Gracie's body hitting the floor and the squelching of another victim, Kai turned around.
They had all been transported here by Etyrion, so he figured they'd be close.
Amyla was just a few meters away from him, rigidly raising her arms against the air. For the first time, she actually looked blind to Kai.
"Of fucking course." He muttered before running to Amyla and picking her up.
Ignoring her yelp that quickly turned into a thank you, Kai focused on the surrounding smells to try and determine where the beast was.
Unfortunately, all he smelled was blood. Earlier, all he had seen was Gracie's head suddenly ripped clean off of her body.
Whatever the blue-orange beast was, it left his Komodo's Eyes and Omniscient Nose completely useless.
