"Crap where's my scarf", Veah mumbles to herself. *Ding Ding* Veah's phone go off. 

 Jada [Girl where you at]

Veah picks up her phone and reads the message. "Damn I needa hurry up". She then replies back and heads to the living room shutting the bedroom door behind her.

Veah [omw see u in a min]

Veah's about the grab the doorknob when footsteps come up behind her. "Girl where you think you going", says Shunda, Veah's mom. Veah rolls her eyes before she turns around. "Me and Jada supposed to be hanging out today". Shunda scoffs with one hand on her wide hips. "Its about seven o'clock, you tryna go be fast huh", says Shunda. Veah sucks her teeth. "Ma we just going to gets some food and head back to her house". Shunda replies, "So yo grown ass wasn't gon bother to tell me nun!". Veah smacks her teeth again, only to further upset Shunda. "Girl you smack yo teeth again imma knock em down yo throat", says Shunda as she takes two steps closer to Veah. "Ma can I just go",Veah's says growing impatient. "How yo ahh gon get there and back?", she asks. Veah's phone goes off again. She quickly checks it. [bkay already here to pick us up girl wya 😤] "I was gon ride my bike down there before it get all the way dark then we were gon ask her sister to take us to get some food when she get off work". Shunda inspects Veah for a second before saying, "Mhmm you better text me when you get there." Veah grins as she opens the door. "Ight bye ma love you" "love you to now git before it gets dark", and with that she watches Veah ride off and then closes the door.
