[Shanguang wants to be your Tamed Beast. Will you accept her?]
Ash blinked his eyes a couple times before responding to the notification. Everything about the Beast Taming System was very new to him. In his previous world, Ash spent nearly a whole semester taming his first beast, Glowpaw. But right now, the Beast itself offered their allegiance to become his Tamed Beast.
"Are you certain?" Ash inquired. "Will you be able to keep up with me?"
Shanguang nodded eagerly. "My legs are fast! My claws are sharp and tough! I might be small, but I can hunt on my own. You don't have to worry about feeding me, Master. I just… don't know where I should go."
"My journey is a perilous one, little girl. I have no time to babysit a cub. You'd die if you were careless and I will happily sacrifice you as long as it's profitable on my end. Do you understand?"
Feeling intimidated by the phoenix's domineering aura, Shanguang steeled her heart. She's determined to be a weakling no longer.
"I will prove myself useful for you, Master! I promise to get stronger! Better yet, if you see myself as an expendable pawn, I'd be honoured to sacrifice myself!"
Of course, Ash would not use his Tamed Beast as a sacrificial pawn. All of the previous talk was just to test Shanguang's determination.
Ash scratched his chin with his right wing. After a short deliberation, he pressed the "Yes" button on the holographic screen.
"Very well." Ash gave Shanguang a gentle head pat. "I will accept you as my Tamed Beast."
Shanguang then closed her as when a tiny spark of light entered her forehead. Once the light fused into one within her, Shanguang's body glowed brilliantly for a couple of seconds and thus entered Ash's Beast-Taming Space.
The fellow beast who witnessed the phenomenon were agape, it was their first time to see an Immortal Beast enter another beast's chest and disappear.
Ash, however, ignored their noisy chatter, focusing on Shanguang's soul that was being reshaped and cleansed in the Beast-Taming Space.
A few moments later, Shanguang had finally calmed down, accepting her new fate and purposes; to serve and protect the Heavenly Phoenix to reclaim the Immortal Beast Realm.
Afterward, the notification rang again in Ash's head.

Ash rounded his eyes wide, he didn't expect that Shanguang had so much potential within her tiny body. On top of that, Ash could tell that Shanguang would grow really fast.
Satisfied with the summary, Ash summons Shanguang back to the real world. The once dishevelled fur of hers was no longer. Lustrous golden brown fur now adorned her body from head to tail with a distinctive stripes pattern that covered every inch of her body equally.
By the time she opened her eyes, everybody could tell that she had a bright mind that inhabited her small frame.
"How do you feel, Shanguang?" Ash inquired.
"I feel… Wonderful! I have never been this energetic before! It feels like I could even storm the sea and flip a mountain! Hehehe!"
"Splendid." Ash smiled inwardly. It's actually a tad awkward for not being able to express his feelings since his facial expression was very limited.
"Let's head to the hunting ground, Master! I can't wait to test my new power!"
"Sure." Ash brought the cub under his wing. "But, what should we do with these cowards?"
Sensing the bad omen that lingered in the air, Ash knew that the Earth Rank Immortal Beast who were standing on the side grew jealous by Shanguang's sudden glow up. They also wanted to be blessed by him, yet they had no intention to put themselves into servitude like Shanguang did.
At some point, a male Rabbit Beast whose size was twice bigger than Ash walked closer, he then kowtowed before Ash's feet. Meanwhile, the other Rabbit Beasts were biting their fingernails, afraid that their fellow beast comrade might offend the young phoenix.
And thus the Rabbit Beast said: "Oh, reverend phoenix, would you be so kind as to bless me with your gift? Errm, you see, I have a wife, and dozens of growing kids. I want to become stronger to protect my family."
Ash couldn't even care less about the Rabbit Beast's family circumstances. What would he gain for helping this pretentious wretch anyway?
"For the sake of your family, you claimed?"
"Yes, o, lord phoenix."
"I am sorry. But I can't grant your wish."
"Pardon?"
"Your family is your burden to carry until your last breath. But, don't you worry. I will ensure the safety of this valley as long as I'm here. Until then, you need to grow stronger on your own. Besides, this little one needs to be trained properly before I bring her along."
Every Rabbit Beast sighed in relief. Not only young and powerful, but the phoenix was also wise and well-spoken unlike those tyrants who only care about plundering their homeland until nothing was left behind.
"Ah… this valley is saved."
"Praise The Sun! Oh, praise the sun! We will no longer need to worry about our kids being preyed on for the time being until they grow up."
Ash turned his back and slipped away from the crowd while he had the chance.
"Shanguang, lead me to your hunting ground, quick! I have enough being fawned on by them."
"At once, Master! Follow me!"
