"What... what was that?" Claire croaked, her voice hoarse.
"You tried to command him, Claire," Jessica said firmly, stepping back. "You overstepped your bounds. He isn't someone you can manipulate or control. He is our god."
"Our what?" Zara's voice cut through the tense silence, sharp and skeptical. She leaned against the wall, her arms crossed, but there was a flicker of something in her eyes—curiosity, maybe even doubt. "Jessica, you can't just drop that and expect us to—"
"Do you see the flames I just used?" Jessica interrupted, gesturing to her hands, where the faint remnants of the white fire still glowed. "This isn't mine. It's his gift. His power flows through me now. He is the source. The Burning One."
Her words hung in the air, heavy and undeniable. The others exchanged glances, their disbelief cracking under the weight of her conviction.
