In ancient times, humanity came across a mysterious portal that led to other worlds where anything was possible. Different kinds of creatures emerged: elves, orcs, dwarves, dragons, and human-beasts. Magic was limitless.
Various plants existed that could aid human medicine, helping people create solutions for numerous diseases. As time passed, more portals appeared, bringing forth monsters from other worlds. This marked humanity's darkest era, recorded in history as "The Eclipse of Humanity."
Humans were forced to learn magic, swordsmanship, and other combat skills. The war lasted a straight 12 years, during which many lost their lives. In response, the government established a society where strong individuals could gather to apply for jobs, known as "Kynigoi," or, in modern terms, "hunters."
During this time, many otherworlders came to Earth to help its inhabitants rebuild their homes and more. Some otherworlders chose to settle on Earth and start families. As a result, half the current population consists of hybrid humans. After 200 years since that era, the portals appeared again, but this time, they sought Earthlings' help, teleporting them to their worlds to become their heroes. Many summoned individuals died trying, but some succeeded in defeating the "Great Evil." Those who triumphed received incredible rewards, such as the ability to keep their powers, strong weapons, and more.
As time passed, technology evolved, and so did magic, growing immensely over the years. Earthlings created a "system" to guide a new generation of "Kynigoi" on their adventures.
Ten years have passed since the creation of this system. The government gathered extensive information about the monsters and established a tiered classification system.
There are seven tiers:
Nuisance Tier: Nuisance monsters are the weakest in the monster tier. They do not pose a significant threat but can be troublesome if there are too many.
Peril Tier: Peril monsters are less complex threats that can often be managed with basic skills. They are typically used for training in low-danger zones.
Hazard Tier: Hazard monsters present a real threat but can be defeated by experienced hunters. Their abilities often include poison and other hazardous skills.
Menace Tier: Menace monsters are formidable threats for inexperienced hunters but can be managed with the right skills and knowledge. They might be encountered in wild areas or dark parts of dungeons.
Calamity Tier: Calamity monsters pose severe dangers to most hunters, often requiring experienced hunters to handle them. While they are not as overwhelmingly powerful as cataclysmic monsters, they are still highly challenging and dangerous.
Cataclysmic Tier: Cataclysmic monsters are apex predators with abilities and intelligence that make them deadly, even to the most seasoned hunters. They are forces of nature, requiring specialized strategies to confront.
Abyssal Tier: Abyssal monsters are legendary, almost mythical creatures with powers that border on the divine. Abyssal monsters are disasters waiting to happen, capable of reshaping the land or bringing down entire continents.
As the government finished compiling this information, they also created a hunter tier system. Each tier comes with different powers and salaries for hunters.
Dragon-Tier: Dragon-tier heroes possess world-shaking abilities, often seen as the ultimate protectors. They can face continent-level threats and wield powers that can turn the tide in cataclysmic battles. Known to inspire legends, Dragon heroes are rare and typically called upon only in the direst situations.
Astro-Tier: Astro-tier heroes are powerhouses capable of defending entire nations from high-level threats. With abilities that stretch across vast ranges, they are tactical geniuses or powerful warriors, often leading large forces or protecting critical regions.
Brain-Tier: Brain-tier heroes excel in intellect, strategy, and battlefield control rather than raw power. They master planning and create complex strategies, outsmarting opponents while taking on key roles as tacticians or advisors in conflicts.
Calamity-Tier: Calamity-tier heroes are powerful defenders at the city level, known for their high resilience and combat skills. They can handle multiple enemies or large threats, often single-handedly protecting cities from devastating attacks.
Drain-Tier: Drain-tier heroes protect smaller towns or districts within cities. They are strong and skilled but lack the large-scale power of higher tiers. They frequently handle local threats and are highly respected by their communities.
Reindeer-Tier: Reindeer-tier heroes defend villages or small settlements. They possess sufficient power to keep smaller communities safe and often serve as the primary line of defense against minor threats, earning admiration from locals for their dedication.
Sloth-Tier: Sloth-tier heroes are slightly above average humans, often possessing minor abilities or specialized skills. They may be new to hero work or focus on smaller-scale issues, gaining experience by assisting with minor threats or supporting more powerful heroes.
There are four powers typically used by hunters:
1. Mystic Arts: This realm of magic encompasses spells, enchantments, and elemental control. Users draw upon natural or supernatural forces, channeling them through spells or rituals to achieve extraordinary effects.
2. Aetheris: Aetheris represents inner spiritual force or life energy. Users harness their willpower, presence, and fighting spirit to enhance physical abilities, sense others, or exert their will. It's a versatile energy that can strengthen both body and mind, creating a powerful presence.
3. Bloodline Abilities: These innate powers are tied to heritage, especially from hybrid or rare lineages (such as human-elf descendants). They include unique abilities like enhanced senses, agility, or specific elemental affinities that arise naturally and grow with the user.
4. Singularity Powers: This special type of power is extremely rare and unique to certain individuals. Singularity Powers are often one-of-a-kind, breaking traditional rules of other powers and potentially growing to unprecedented levels. These powers can be unpredictable but are immensely potent.
Legends say that when the four powers align and combine into one, the world will face a disaster unlike any other. Yet, no one knows whether salvation or ruin awaits...
