Naruto jumped down the platforms to fight the marionettes that had spawned on the ground alongside Dante.
Dante used them as test subjects for Ifrit. The marionettes fragile bodies couldn't handle the explosive power of the gauntlets shattering them into pieces.
Dante look at the gauntlets with a hint of joy and excitement. He felt a excited shiver down his spine.
"This...things...ROCK!" Dante roared and a small ring of fire burst out around him releasing a bright flash. Naruto shielded his face from the light to protect his eyes. He onky dropped his arms when the light finally died down.
"Really Dante?" Naruto deadpanned at Dante caressing ifrit like it was a baby.
Dante looked at Naruto with eyes shining, not bothering to hide his excitement.
"What?! This devil arm is awesome! They remind me of the gauntlets I used to have."
Naruto rolled his eyes at Dante's childish antics.
And I'm supposed to be the kid'
"Let's just go" Naruto finally relented, having seen enough.
"Okay" Dante nodded after managing to get his emotions back under control.
The two of them leisurely made their way towards the exit.
They had just stepped outside the door when they heard thunder boom in the dark skies. They look up to see streaks of red lightnings converged together at one point in the sky before transforming in a giant demonic bird-Griffon.
"What a flashy entrance" Naruto shook his head at the Griffon. What was with demons an grand entrance? Are they really that desperate for attention?
Dante also nodded in agreement. A few of those lightning had nearly struck him.
Unaware of their already growing disdain for it due to it grand entrance the Griffon gently landed on the edge of a building. Red lightning flashing around it body. It glared at Dante and said.
"You! Are you the human, the son of Sparda who challenges the darkness Mundus?"
"Seems like you are already getting famous around here, Dante. You might be a celebrity in the underworld already" Naruto jested as he stifled a laughter.
Dante rolled his eyes at him before returning his gaze to the demonic bird. "Flock off, feather face! or you can stick around and find out the hard way!"
"Insolent!" Griffon roared sending a bolt of that pierced the ground between them. Naruto's gaze moved from the smoking hole in the ground to the bird that had already taken flight.
"I'll take that as a yes" Dante smiled as if he had expected that, after all, demons are very proud creatures. His eyes locked onto the bird making it way over to them. His held the grenadegun in his hands and said.
"I wouldn't have it any other way."
"Die!" The Griffon's body crackled with lightning as it dove down from the sky like a meteorite
Naruto and Dante jumped out of the way of the griffon's dive. It crashed into the ground creatimg a huge crater and kicking up dust clouds but it missed it targets.
However, the Griffon didn't look disappointed that they managed to dodge it attack, instead it flew back up the sky and prepared to dive again. Dante noticed this and used his grenadegun to prevent it from doing so.
"Cover for me" Naruto shouted before charging at Griffon with purgatory which radiated a faint red glow. Naruto had added the nine tails chakra to it to increase it damage Output. The griffon not being a fan of close combats used it wings to send out a gust.
"Shit". Naruto cursed when he saw the gust of wind charged at him. As he was already in it range, he could do nothing but brace himself before he got swept away by the gust of wind.
Dante continued to use his grenadegun to keep the griffon at bay not giving it the chance to attack. It seemed to work as the griffon was slowly pushed back. Not finding a chance to attack the griffon flapped it wings and flew to another part of the arena to reposition itself.
The Griffon released a lightning orb which descends to the ground. The orb unleashes two beams of electricity that spread out to each end of the arena before snapping back together like a pair of scissors.
Naruto and Dante sensing the danger jumped up in the nick of time to avoid the attack. Naruto felt goosebumps all over his body as the lightning had missed him by a few in. It had even singe part of his skin.
"That was scary!" Naruto's heart skipped a beat as he could still feel the residual lightning coursing through his body.
Unfortunately he didn't have enough time to relax as the Griffon glides forwards in the air with it wings positioned in a downward "V" shape, releasing clusters of lightning balls underneath it as it carpet-bombs the arena in a straight line.
Child's play
The attack was natural easy for them to dodge since it was done in a straight line. The grenadegun in Dante's hand never stopped shooting.
"Is that ok you've got feather brain?!" Dante taunted at the Griffon's sorry excuse of an attack.
"Die, humans!" The Griffon bellowed and huge bolts Lightning rained down from the sky all around the arena.
"Be careful!" Naruto shouted out a warning to Dante as he remembered how painful it was to even be singh by the lightning but unfortunately he wasn't able to heed his own advice as he was hit by an enormous bolt of lightning.
