Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Just A Bigger Bubble

In a white space filled with all sorts of bubbles of varying sizes and colors, there was a place where no other bubbles would dare gather.

A bubble so big and colorful that everyone who just looked in that direction would bow and hope they could get away.

Seeing everyone else staying away from him, Orion couldn't help but feel a little helpless. It wasn't like he was going to eat them or anything. After who knows how long of being here, Orion had gotten used to the feeling of just being alone.

While there used to be some bubbles that were barely the same size as him, they had long left when the day of light came.

'And would you look at that like, looks like it's that day today as well?' Orion thought as he could see some black holes appear and suck away some of the bubbles.

While most of them tried to resist, they weren't able to and were just sucked up with almost no resistance, no matter how hard they tried.

When he first saw this scene, Orionw was scared, thinking that the same thing would happen to him, but after so long and no black hole appearing to suck him in, he had just given up and simply just slept and absorbed the weird energy in this place.

Seeing black holes starting to disappear, Orion felt like entering a deep sleep again. After all, that was the only thing he could remain as sane as possible after who knows how long.

At least, that was the plan until he felt a specific force.

"No way…"

Was the only thing Orion could say as he saw the Giant blackhole sucking him in.

—-------------------------------

In the capital of the Floren Kingdom, it was a day of celebration as it was the day of awakening.

The day of awakening, a day that would determine your life path whether you were a noble, human or any other creature.

As a world that revolves around Familiaris and magic, to be able to even use magic one needed to have a familiar.

So whether they were noble or not, just contracting a familiar regardless of the straighten, would mean a great future as long as you don't mess anything up.

Today was one of the rare few days both Nobles and everyone else would be gathered in the same room.

"Next in line, please." A voice solemnly called standing being a white stone.

A child nervously came up, reached his hand out, and placed his hand on the stone that would decide his fate for him.

Whether he would stay as a farmer's child and stay as a farmer his whole life, or someone who nobles would even have to bow to.

After a few seconds nothing happened seeing that the Child immediately started tearing up, while he had no idea what was really happening, he still instinctively knew he missed out on something very important in his life.

Such a scene happened almost 100 more times until another child, dressed way better than all the others, came up.

Unlike the last 100, he walked up confidently with a smile on his face.

While it said that the day of awakening is a day where everyone is equal, that was far from true.

It was only equal to those whose parents weren't already beast tamers, as those with beast-tamer parents had at least a 95% chance of contracting a familiar and using magic.

And just as everyone expected the white stone lit up and a black hole appeared on top of the stone.

Out of the black hole came a small cat-like creature with a curved tail, Seeing a new world the creature immediately feeling scared released the power itself.

The yell that came out was a small amount of wind.

"Congratulations on awakening, please take your familiar and walk to the door behind me." The man Covering the awakening ceremony said happily and softly as he spoke to the child.

"Yes sir." The child said happily hugging his new familiar, the moment they touched he could feel something new growing within himself.

Seeing the child walk away from the other children in line could only feel envy.

"Now let's continue next person please come forward."

This continued for the next couple of hours. All sorts of people came forward while most left with a sad expression and look of loss, a small amount passed and soon became contacts.

Most were obviously either nobles or people who had parents who were tamers. And a minimal amount were actual peasants.

As the day was nearing its end it was now the turn for the royal family, as a kingdom with barely 400 years of history and its own sixth king, the amount of royals awakening was almost 18.

While most could barely be considered royals there was one who was in the direct lineage of the throne this year.

Yet no one cared, as she was an abandoned princess who was soon to be kicked out.

For Selene Florent today was a day that would determine her future, if she was able to get a familiar that would mean she would at least have some degree of choice about her own future, but if she didn't today, she would be married off tomorrow to some powerful tamer who came from the peasant class and needed some status.

"It's alright, Miss I'll follow you no matter where you go." A tall busty blonde said she looked at her master how she's served since she was a child.

"It's alright Lyra, even though my mother wasn't a beast tamer, it doesn't change the fact that my father was, so it's at least a 50% chance," Selene whispered trying to calm herself as she saw that it was almost time for her to go up.

Saying a quick prayer, Selene quickly left her carriage followed by Lyra, in front of the church where the royal family gathered.

As the only person in the Main Lineage there, it didn't take long for people to surround themselves around her even though she was known as the forgotten princess.

After some quick pleasantries, the doors of the church opened for them and they quickly lined up with Selene being last.

After all, if a person of the main liege was there, they were supposed to go last as most of the time they awakened something powerful and showed off the majesty of the royal kingdom.

Just as expected everyone in the royal family awakened something, while none of them were attention-worthy or even looked powerful no one would dare judge a familiar since they could grow more powerful and more resources were put into them.

"And now finally, Selene Florent! Princess of the Floren Kingdom!" The Priest shouted as everyone did a half bow.

Walking up to the stone pillar Selene couldn't hope but just wished she could summon anything, even just a rat or a slime.

Anything would do, she honestly didn't want to follow in the footsteps of her older sister who didn't awaken and was then married away a week after failing to awaken.

She could remember the look on her face then as she left the palace.

Touch the stone she feels the cold smooth surface and a hint of worth left there by the past person.

She could feel something, something big, massive, yet she could have some sort of resistance.

"I'm sorry princess, but it-." Yet before the priest could finish he felt it.

And not just him, everyone in the church could feel it.

Before anyone could reach a black hole so big that it looked like it reached the moon appeared.

Yet just as quickly as it grew it shrunk, to the size of a typical black hole and what appeared made the priest get on his knees.

A being only said to appear in books and the history of old age.

A being who was once said to be the pinnacle of power that anything would be able to reach.

The crowd watched in awe and fear, realizing they were witnessing an event that would change their world forever.
