Sia's Pov
I didn't know where to look. His hand held mine so gently, yet my heart pounded so loudly I was sure he could hear it. The room was dim, the fire's soft light casting flickering shadows around us. The air felt heavy, thick with the smell of burning wood and the fresh scent of rain that still lingered from the storm outside.
As he moved closer, I felt the warmth of his body envelop me, and I tried not to flinch when his hand settled on my waist. It wasn't that I didn't want him to touch me-I just wasn't used to how much it made my skin tingle, my heart race. He was so tall, to be gentle, his presence felt overwhelming. When his thumb brushed against my bare thigh, I gasped, not expecting the sensation. I wasn't sure if he noticed, but my entire body was buzzing with nerves.
