Shadow lay sprawled across my bed, yawning as she stared out at the moonlight spilling through the window. I was cleaning my sword with a cloth, frustration simmering within me.
Where the hell is Ancillin?
"It's already midnight, Shadow," I muttered, my patience wearing thin.
She rolled onto her back, her paws int the air, clearly in a playful mood. I sighed, feeling as hint of amusement despite myself. "is this what Sia taught you? To lounge around instead of preparing for battle?"
Her tail wagged excitedly at the mention of Sia's name, but my thoughts remained dark.
What could Ancillin possibly be doing?
Just as I was about to lose myself in thoughts of the impending rescue, Ancillin walking in, a smirk plastered across his face. "Let's go, brother," he said, his tone deceptively casual.
