"Here you are," Ancillin said, closing the heavy iron door behind him. The screech of the door seemed to momentarily drown out the chilling screams that had filled the corridor.
As he spoke, drop of blood splattered across his face. He pushed, his eyes narrowing in disgust as he glanced at his brother. "Gosh! Kairan! I hate bloodshed!" He quickly wiped the blood from his cheek, his irritation clear as he took in the scene before him.
Kairan stood with his back to Ancillin, his muscular frame slick with sweat, gripping a bloodied sword. He didn't turn around but let out a menacing chuckle that echoed eerily in the chamber.
Ancillin's eyes were cold as he walked toward Kairan, but suddenly, from his left, a grotesque creature lunged at him. It was the same kind that had attacked Sia-a nightmarish figure with a body in a twisted, unsettling shape, its only features being a gaping maw of teeth.
