James Brown, though still nursing some wounds on his leg, would have easily taken care of these henchmen. However, glancing at a distance, Helen Wilson was walking towards him. He immediately started to clumsily dodge and shout, "Help! Help!"
Helen Wilson's past few days had been somewhat indescribable. It seemed like she should be happy, as she was now the deputy director and no longer just a beat cop. To become a deputy director so soon after starting her job was rare in the entire system, to the point that it might make others think she was the offspring of an official.
Yet, she could not muster happiness. Becoming deputy director had exposed her to things she had previously been unaware of, things she found intolerable, and even some matters she believed were unbefitting for a police officer to be involved in.
