Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 The Other First Side

Gina Lopez went to the bathroom first, while James Brown went over to chat with Jonathan Lopez for a bit. Jonathan was busy tending to his flowers on the balcony. James didn't understand any of that, so he just stood nearby, admiring the plants.

When he saw Gina come out, James went into the bathroom, casually closing the door behind him. Then, he sat on the toilet. Men typically stood to pee, but for number two, they naturally had to sit.

However, before James could do anything, the bathroom door suddenly swung open. A woman walked in, wearing a tank top and skin-toned leggings, rubbing her eyes and completely unaware that there was a man in the bathroom.

The girl just came in like that, and James was so startled he didn't know how to react. What was even more surprising was that the woman was walking toward the toilet while reaching to take her pants off!

James was so shocked he jumped up, not even having a good look at the girl's face, but he knew for sure it was Gina Lopez's sister, Sandra. He never expected their first meeting to happen like this.

"Stop!" James shouted loudly, quickly covering his eyes. He had to do this, or he would be in big trouble. However, Sandra had already pulled her pants down slightly.

"Ah!" With a scream, Sandra finally saw someone in the bathroom. She dashed out like a whirlwind, slamming the door shut behind her.

James hurriedly pulled up his pants. He was too shaken to continue and probably wouldn't be able to use the bathroom again even if he wanted to.

He tidied himself up quickly and exited the bathroom, only to find Gina glaring at him with displeasure at the door.

James looked awkward, saying, "I was in the bathroom... and she just walked in. I suppose she wasn't quite awake yet."

Jonathan Lopez and his wife came over at this moment. Hearing what James had to say, they also saw that he had indeed gone into the bathroom first, so they knew it wasn't his fault. With an extra person in the house, and since Sandra hadn't met James before, such an incident couldn't really be blamed on anyone.

"Well... I'll just go wash my face," James said, feeling uneasy in the awkward atmosphere. He quickly turned and went back into the bathroom.

When he came out again, Sandra's bedroom door swung open. A figure rushed into the bathroom, leaving behind a comment: "Slower than an old cow, huh." The voice was clear and melodious, like a silver bell.

Gina walked over then, pulling James back to the bedroom, closing the door behind them. She stared intensely at James, asking, "What were you doing when my sister came in?"

"I was using the toilet, but I was sitting. She came in rubbing her eyes, so she didn't see anything."

"And what did you see?"

"Well, I was stunned, didn't see much. I just knew it was your sister who came in." Of course, James couldn't tell the truth.

Gina's sharp gaze softened to calmness, and she said with satisfaction, "That's reasonable." Over the years, Gina had developed a keen eye and insight, believing she could tell if James was lying.

Unfortunately, she was overconfident. James was highly trained in this area, precisely to avoid being interrogated if caught. Compared to his grueling training, Gina's scrutiny was like child's play. If he deliberately concealed something, how could Gina possibly notice?

The two left the bedroom once more, and Sandra was already in the living room. She wore a floral cotton outfit, with her long black hair tied in a ponytail. Her appearance was identical to Gina's; even their eyebrows were the same – truly twins.

However, James could still tell the sisters apart at a glance because their temperaments differed. Gina, being a boss, carried an air of authority and dignity, while Sandra was a lively, energetic city girl full of vitality.

Sandra sized up James, seemingly not too embarrassed by the earlier incident. She extended her hand, saying, "Sandra, your girlfriend's twin sister. Who would've thought the first meeting between brother-in-law and sister-in-law would happen in the bathroom?"

James shook Sandra's hand and said, "I'm really sorry. I should have informed you of my arrival beforehand, to avoid such an awkward situation, so this is my fault. I hope you won't mind."

Sandra giggled, winked at Gina, and said, "I don't mind, of course not, as long as my sister doesn't mind."

Gina snorted and said, "You got taken advantage of, why should I mind?"

Sandra pouted, then leaned in next to James and whispered in his ear, "Brother-in-law, how do you manage my sister? I truly admire you."

James chuckled and said, "You wouldn't know, but though your sister appears cold, she has a gentle side too."

"Really? I've never noticed. Her face is always stern, as if everyone owes her money. If I were a man, I couldn't stand her."

"You brat, what are you saying?" Gina glared immediately.

"You see, there she goes again. I'm telling you, brother-in-law, my sister is quite a handful."

"You brat, is that how you talk about your sister?" Mrs. Lopez came over and scolded, then dragged Sandra away to make breakfast.

James turned to Gina, laughing, "Your sister really is lively."

"Humph, she never stays put, always making people worry." Gina looked helpless.

James found it amusing. Although Gina was the elder sister, being twins, it was hard to tell who was older. She always acted like the elder, no wonder her relationship with Sandra wasn't so good.

During breakfast, Sandra's gaze flitted between him and Gina. Suddenly, she said with a smile, "Sis, aren't you going to peel an egg for brother-in-law?"

Gina was startled, sensing that her sister might have noticed something. But she reacted quickly, saying, "He has hands; can't he peel it himself?"

"He's your boyfriend, you know. This is just my suggestion, sister. You should be a bit gentler with your boyfriend, even if you're cold to others."

"I just won't be gentle; so what?"

James peeled an egg himself then and placed it in front of Gina, smiling, "I always take care of you, so when will you take care of me?"

Gina saw that James had peeled it entirely by hand and was still holding it with his fingers. She felt a bit troubled inside. She wasn't overly germophobic, but eating something a man had just held felt quite uncomfortable. But sensing her sister watching her with a cheerful smile, Gina could only take the egg, feigning a delighted expression, and took a bite, enduring the discomfort.
