"Brother-in-law, could you tell me some of your past stories?" Emily clung to James's sleeve, giving it a gentle shake, filled with anticipation.
James flashed a toothy smile and said, "You might be thinking too much. I'm just an ordinary person, and I don't seem to have anything worth remembering."
Emily stared into James's eyes and firmly shook her head, saying, "I don't believe that."
With a shrug, James replied, "You might not believe me, but there's nothing I can do about it. When I have time, I'll tell you about my past and you can see if there's anything you'd like to hear. Just don't be too disappointed."
"I won't be disappointed, definitely not!" Emily exclaimed joyfully.
James laughed, "But shouldn't we be going upstairs now? Uncle and Aunt are waiting for us to come up and eat dumplings."
