A month has passed since Tsume has become a member of Wraithborne and their reputation in the underworld has slowly grown. It started off them just hunting bandits for funding but after hitting off some bandits that led to finding gold mines that were held up by the cult of Malakar and the three of them working together destroyed the whole mineshaft. After that time, we see Soren's dad who is in his office at his house writing a letter to his dad's best friend, the king of Aceberg. While writing it he never really trusted letters to normal massagers and while his son is still young sending him on a small messenger quest like this will do good for him to leave the city and make friends, he understands that it's hard to make friends when you are behind your parent's shadow. Zane knows that Soren is falling into the background of irreverence. However, to his unknown that is just how his son wants to be seen. An irrelevant noble son.
"Hey maids can one of you bring my son here?" Zane asks one of his staff workers to go retrieve his son. Some time passes and we see me standing in front of my dad who is sitting behind his desk.
"Alright son I feel like you're ready for your first time out the city." Zane says.
"Really?" I am ecstatic. I am forced to just be Wraith here and cannot do my work anywhere else if I can broaden my horizon that will help eventually.
"Yes, I have a message to send to someone and I don't trust the guilds messengers with such a personal message." Zane says a bit serious about it.
"Who is it to? Also, where will I be going?" I now have my fist in the air thinking yes, I can leave for a bit.
"It's to an old friend of my fathers… the King of Aceberg." Zane says.
"Woah I always forget that Grandpa was friends with the king. He must be strong."
"Yes, they were friends but that's old history. I can only trust my own son with this message, and it will be a 2-week journey, you will travel to Arcane on carriage then take the train to the capital. It is a city of pleasure and fun mostly because of the considerable amounts of casinos and vacation locations. Once you restock at Arcane, you will head straight for the capital, who knows you may even see your sister there to.
"Of cours. I Do not want to stay cooped up here in this port city forever dad I cannot wait till I turn fifteen and go to the royal academy but ill be fine with this."
"You will not be alone I will hire escorts for you and even send some housekeepers to help you out. Even though I have standards these women are still combat ready." Zane smirks at knowing how capable his housekeepers are in the field and how strong their last magic techniques are.
"Which ones are you going to accompany me? I hope it is Rebecca she has always been a nice housekeeper. If I remember you told me that when I was born, she was the one who let Ruian know I was born." Soren says in a thinking motion.
"Yes, while I don't have a hierarchy for my maids, I would say Rebecca is the strongest and one of our most loyal to the family, so she'll be in charge on this escort." After saying that he speaks into an intercom and says.
"June could you bring Rebecca here I have a mission for her. Also tell her to be combat ready." Zane says into the intercom which the housekeeper June replies.
"Yes, Sir right away." June says.
A few moments later Two ladies walk into the room. One is in a typical housekeeper outfit who has short white hair. Braided in a ponytail who has a curvy figure, but you cannot see it cause of the large housekeeper outfit. The other woman is wearing a black kimono with flower cherry blossoms patters flowing across horizontally a sword that looks like a katana that she wears on her back that has a black sheeth to it with a pink dragon pattern that looks like an Asian type of dragon. Rebecca is slightly older then Ruian at 20 years old she. Her family immigrated to the Ace kingdom when the Zane family did, so they are both from the far East of an island nation called Taiyokuni. They were both on the same boat journey. While zanes family joined the military part of Ace kingdom because of their military family with the king cause of Sorens grandfather. Rebeccas family stay close to the port city of embers and became adventures strong ones Rebecca is a A class ranked adventure. She has long black hair normally, but she has them tied in bun hair styles, brown eyes, and a strong demeanor to her.
"Master, why have you asked me to be battle ready?" Rebecca asks while bowing her head.
"I have an escort mission for you. You are to escort my son to Aceberg to deliver a message to the king-san. Of course it will be an A rank escort mission." Zane smirks at that last request.
"A simple A rank escort mission fuck yes I'm bringing medicine just in case." Rebecca smirks. "Ill glady take this mission. Its my honor to protect your son. As a housekeeper of this family its my duty as well." Rebecca says it is a formal manner but inwardly she was thinking about how much alcohol she needs to pack. While this is going on Soren is staring at his boss, housekeeper Rebecca.
"So, this is what an A class adventure feels like I wonder whos stronger an adventure or a trained Ace knight who's under the kings word." I look at Rebecca and can see her Aura is strong, it is nearly double her size, but I think if I were to spare against her seriously anonymously, I could take her.
"Wil it just be us 2 on the journey?" Rebecca asks.
"No, I will hire some adventures from the guild for a C rank escort quest as well so about seven of you will do so two carriages. Ill leave it to you two, you will be leaving the city in 2 days get packing for a month journey on horse carriage." Zane says.
"OH, right it's so weird I hated how the developers of the game were never consistent with the technology in this game sometimes the school system and buildings look modern we even have fridges and microwaves, but they really don't want to give us cars god dang it devs." Soren thinks about the many inconsistencies with the game that he played, which is the world he lives in now.
"I probably could fly there within one day with magic step." Time to play background characters. "Ill be in your care." Soren bows to his housekeeper and Rebecca smirks. "You don't have to be nice your technically my boss." Rebecca replies." That is no fun I hope we can get along on this journey. It will be boring if we are formal all the time. Soren smirks back to Rebecca." I guess your right" Rebecca says.
2 days go by and at the entrance to the port city we see two carriages with eight people. The 5 adventures that Zane hired for the quest, Soren who is wearing sandals relaxing shirt and sweats the developers also like to incorporate modern clothing in the game after thinking of it they weren't consistent at all with anything they dropped in the game only magic system was the main thing they were consistent with. The other person standing next to Soren is Rebecca and the last person standing is Zane. To See his son off.
"Alright everyone is everyone ready for the 2 weeklong escort mission?" Zane asks." Yes sir." One man says who looks like he was tired after sleeping in he has knight armor on beside his head, and he has an axe. He looks like someone who would be a tank in a video game. His name is Axlorn and hes a C rank adventurer who has spikey read hair and knight armor. Beside his head he looks like the boss of the other four, he is in his mid-twenties. The second person to speak to is a lady who looks like she is also in her mid-twenties. She has blond hair, black eyes, and a staff she does not look like she has any muscle on her, but she is wearing a wizard coat covering her head with star patterns she has a soft speaking voice. "Do not worry if anyone gets hurt, I will heal them with my Ultimus magic healer. She is mostly a healing type adventure, but she has a dagger that has a bleeding effect on her safety. She is also a B rank adventure.
"Of course you will Susumaine you're the best healer in the guild." A man smaller than Axlorn says. He has two daggers on his hips, and he has short green hair, wearing sunglasses, sandals, shorts, and a dragon shirt. A C rank adventure says named Bane who also has two red daggers that have bleeding effect on them. The other two adventures are quiet, but they nod.
The main point of this journey is the travel to Arcane so we can take the train there up to the royal capital the train does not come out here. It takes about 4 days to travel on carriage to Arcane do 2-week journey does not sound to out laddish.
"OK then be safe now everyone." Zane says then he turns his head and walks back home about a day into their journey. We see Soren on the carriage road inside the horse carriage playing poker with Rebecca who taught him how to play, he is also playing with Axlorn and some other adventures. While playing poker he can sense a bandit up ahead he is about to signal to Rebecca that there is an enemy but suddenly the enemy is no more he no longer sense the bandits Aura so that means it got killed.
"Hmm I wonder what killed the bandit even though I have a pretty good idea on what it could be." I placed a new card down. We cut away a few seconds ago where we see the bandit grabbing his pistol ready to fight but a blur pounce on the bandit shredding it to pieces and then just as quicky it disappears in the forest.
"AH ha I finally won see bring it." Rebecca says showing her cards in a victory formation. That also means she can get a drink of her medicine's sake." You sure do love your Sake do not you Rebecca." Axlon says in defeat of losing that poker game. "You're damn right I *hick up* one night at a pub I broke the record for most shots cough." Rebecca coughs after taking a drink of Sake. "I remember there were rumors that some lady drank 15 shots before passing out at the pub I thought that was Impossible, but I guess that was you." Axlorn says. "You're damn right I won free Sake after that." Rebecca says but she starts thinking more seriously.
"I felt a spike in magic presence right now after the bandit died, I think we should be more careful from now on there could be more trouble up ahead or it could be that group of ruffians who has been causing havoc. *Hick up* I have heard rumors of that person who free the kids on the boat is extraordinarily strong" Rebecca says to herself. The others continue to play poker in the horse carriage and Rebecca even goes back to normal after winning her third hand.
"God damn Rebecca how are you this lucky?" Axlorn says pissed he lost some money. "Hey, what can I say I guess I got a good poker face." Rebecca smiles and gulps down another drink or sake.
The following day while on the road the group of adventurers start to feel a large group of magic Aura coming together. "Hey Rebecca, do you feel that large amount of magic forming over there? It feels like there a group of monsters up ahead." Axlorn, who sticks his head out of the carriage points out. Rebecca, who is in her kimono, says. "Yes, I do it feels like 50 bandits I wonder why they are in our way?" Rebecca says. To keep up his act as someone who is not strong Soren acts very scared in this situation.
"What should we do? We should retreat, there is no way we can fight and win against fifty bandits that are criminals. I say nervously acting. "Don't worry about anything your safety is my number one priority plus your like a cousin to me even though we aren't related our families both come from Edo country so we gotta look out for each other." Rebecca says, smiling and grabbing her katana. That matches her clothing. In the other horse carriage Axlorn yells out "Hey everyone gets ready it looks like we have company." When he says that we see the 4 other adventures start to act Susumaine grabs her staff and robe, Bane pulls out his 2 twin red daggers ready to fight and the 2 other adventures we haven't seen also get read to fight it seems one of them is a nimble fighter and has a short sword while the other one has long sword.
"Just stay back sir." Rebecca says that then she grabs the black sheath that is holding her katana. "Everyone I want you all to stand back I need to practice, it's been a long time since I've been in a fight maybe 2 years, I may be rough around the edges." "The A rank adventure is going to fight?" Bane asks.
"It seems so I've heard of Rebecca she was offered one of the knight positions right away she didn't even have to go to school, and most knights have to graduate at the royal academy so to be offered a position there one must be truly gifted with the sword." Axlorn says that rumor he heard of someone getting offered the job, but they denied it for whatever reason.
"In a land where, cherry blossom is blooming there lies a pink dragon one who never ages, one who always protects that land from any threats. It also strikes down any who dare confront it." Rebecca says that line then as she pulls her sword out of her sheath you can see it fully, on the sword is a pink dragon while its feet touch the hilt of the sword. The hilt itself is pink while the handle is a wrap of pink and black scales.
Rebecca puts two hands on her sword and as she gets ready to fight the bandit group starts moving in and rushes straight at the group. "Ryujin Giri" Rebecca does a horizontal slash with her sword, and you see a pink slash wave that is shaped like a moon crescent, and it cuts into the bandit army killing fifteen instantly. She then enters the army, and one bandit tries a left-handed punch, but Rebecca easily does not even think dodges and kills that bandit with an upward slash. Four more bandits try to gang up on her by all jumping up in the air to stomp on her. But she uses Earth magic to create an earth wall blocking it and turning the corner of the wall, she sees the four that try to kill her and instantly kills a four having green blood drip on her. She then uses another Ryujin Giri attack and kills ten more bandits making the kill count now up to thirty bandits dead. After seeing their initial army destroyed by one woman the rest all start to run away into the forest after seeing they stand no chance in hell against the force there were dealing with.
"Wow you made them run away. Your awesome Rebecca." Soren shouts out.
"She sure is that is an A class adventure for you. I could not even fathom what those in the S class are like if she is a monster they must be devils." Axlorn thinks to himself. "Are you hurt anywhere? Susumaine runs up to Rebecca to check up on injuries.
"Yes I am, I'm hurt that I'm sober now and I need my medicine now." Rebecca says that and walks past Susumaine and wraps her arm around Soren. "Victory." Rebbeca cheers with me wrap around one arm and sake in the other. Sweat marks start going down the adventure's heads.
"She really is something else." Bane laughs at Rebecca anticks. After those bandits were dealt with the rest of the horse carriage ride went uneventful. Then after a few more days' journey across the horizon we see the beautiful city of Arcane pleasure capital of the country and of the entire world because of how many people come here every year even though the capital city looks like 18 century London that is only because they wanted to that way. The city could have skyscrapers but that does not look stylish in the people's eyes. The elites of the country love that architecture style of building. So, because of that it became a trend in the capital. But in Arcane they wanted a more modern style. They discovered steel recently in the past 2 generations and now this is the result, but they do not call it steel in this world it is called Steeliam they consider it an ore like hydrogen.
As the 2-horse carriage approaches the city in a clearer view. They are mesmerized by the city design and how huge the city looks.
"I heard the city had tall buildings, but I never thought of anything like this." Rebecca says sticking her head out of the carriage looking at the Steeliam buildings.
"Yes, when Steeliam was discovered about 70 years ago they realized that Steeliam was perfect for tall buildings since its strong we can now build high tall buildings." Susumaine says shes always been fascinated by the towers. As they approach the city there are walls surrounding the whole city and the city size is the same as in modern day Vegas. They approach one of the guard stations that allow people to enter the city. As they get there, they must show their credentials and their reason of staying in the city most of the people who come here just say they are here to party, but for them they are only here for a restock then they will be on their way again. However, they will have to stay a few days, so after checking into the city and being passed on by the guard they go to a hotel for the night and sleep in.
"It seems your room will be on floor 5." Rebecca comes from the hotel with two pieces of paper and two keys. "Here is your key to your room I hope you will be on your best behavior here If anything happens I I will have a room right next door. So, I could be here instantly if you need help." Rebecca says seriously.
"You sound so serious right now." Soren jokes. "Your protection is my job so of course i'll be serious here if I was on vacation I'll probably already be at the pro adventure fighting ring placing bets on who I think will win." Rebecca smirks.
"I guess your right in a way." I say trying to act nervous about sleeping with someone.
"By the way what to do you think of the city so far Arcane?" Rebecca asks.
"I love it, it looks beautiful. When the group was at the guard post the knight in charge gave him a map of the city. It looked like within the heart of the city is called a redlight district. It has very tall buildings everywhere, ponds with fire breathing ducks. They even have magic shows if you want to buy tickets to those you could. But the main attraction to the red-light district is the distribution of gambling that goes on there. There are a lot of casinos, and there are knights and adventurers magic fighting going on. Instead of boxing it looks like they like to use magic for fighting. But the big attraction is the number of drugs that go through the light district. It seems when it is nighttime the city really comes alive.
As Rebecca gives Soren his key they walk inside the inn and Soren see's a desk and some couches he sees panting of the past king and the current king the man who was friends with his grandfather back in the day. He sees a firepit too, he looks up and sees beautiful chandeliers hanging down. In the other room there are double spiral stairs that go up to the other floors and on its right is a hallway and on its right is also a hallway that has other rooms. All Soren says about this place is this place does not look cheap. The two of them walked up to the room so that they could unpack. They finally get to their room, which is floor five, room 10, and room 11 Soren is floor ten. He opens the door, and he notices that there is a small room on his left that is the bathroom. If he continues to walk, he will see one queen size bed a desk and a couch on the other side of the bed. He notices the clear window. It feels like it is getting hot in his room, so he wants to let out, so the air goes to open his window and after a long week of traveling he goes to bed. But only after a couple minutes of resting on his bed he feels a thump land on top of him. So, he opens his eyes and to his surprise no one sees Tsume.
"Hello Tsume, how did you get here?"
"Hibana told me to come and protect you on this quest." Tsume says shaking her tail.
"Good job so far I guess you were the one who killed that bandit I sense a few days ago." I say he is not surprised at all.
"Yes, it was a threat to you master and all threats needs to be put down." Tsume says in a serious manner.
"Good job so far." Soren says as he pets the top of his Beastkin friend's head.
"So, what are you doing here in Arcane?" Tsum asked in an incredibly happy mood. "Hibana never told you anything when she said to follow me?" Soren asked Tsume who is currently messing up the bed.
"NO Tacca only gave me orders to just follow you and keep your safe sir."
"Oh, yah they gave each other code names."
"That girl she still needs to work on her leadership skills she gives very blank orders."
Soren smirks at the code names they gave each other one night all three were just in a room planning on finding out where the cult of the Malakar members are hiding but in order to hide their own identity Soren decides to call Wraith Hibana will be known as Tacca and Tsume will be known in the organization as Dahlia all flowers so far and then a black rose as their symbol.
"Well, Tsume since you're here now you want to sneak out with me and go explore the rest of the Arcane city, I love cities will tall buildings."
"Sure, boss let's go!" Tsume says as if she is about to break the window open.
"Wait do not break that window you will make to much noise." Soren uses his slime ability to go to the window and open it. As he opens it, he notices that the time says 11:00 PM.
"Perfect timing that should give me plenty of hours to go explore Vegas I never got to in my other life so let's see the similarity of the 2 citites." The hotel they are staying at is about 5 blocks away from the stirp which would take a hour on a walk, but these 2 have slime suits on so they uses the physical gifts the suit gives them to jump from the window of the hotel and rocket it into the air covering the distance pretty quickly. They land one of the skyscrapers that has great blue neon lights trying to illumaite itself among the dark sky if one were to look at the skyscrapers they would see 2 figures in hooded outfit fall from the building and rocketing down towards the ground but you don't hear a splat you hear a conversation from the 2.
"Wow boss the suit really helps when you travel. I could make it here in about five jumps if I use my normal strength." Tsume says walking with Soren around the strip of the city where it seems like all the fun of the city during nighttime happens. You see wagons everywhere and horses carrying them and on top of them is men and woman in rich outfits perfect for a night at the town. Soren and Tsume are a kind of stick of wearing casual outfits one in a shorts and shirt, while the other is in a casual form of the slime suit, so it has flower petals around tsume.
"Hey Tsume, why don't you take off the slime suit and just have your normal outfit." Soren says as they walk by tons of people who look drunk happy or on drugs. You can see one person on a wagon who suddenly makes his head move down and he has something in his nose.
"Is that flower frost?" Soren is interested now. When he played Chronorealsm in his previous life the devs said that there was a drug like coke in their world. There were allot of drugs in this world that are like my previous one.
"Flower frost?" Tsume asked a question. "Ah its something that you shouldn't take ok if you ever hear anyone offer you flower frost always deny it that's a lifetime order by me ok." Soren says that and Tsume nods the wagen that took the frost already was gone so they kept on walking the strip. As they come across another building it reads Casino.
"I'm Curious as to what a casino from this world looks like."
"Want to go in?" Soren asks Tsume.
"I would but there are knight and adventures everywhere I do not know if we are allowed in. Tsume asks about spotting all the potential threats in the area.
"Don't worry we always invite ourselves in." Soren says that as he looks up and sees one of the windows in the building open. "What do you mean?" Tsume asks curiously.
"Follow me." I teleported me and Tsume to the top of the building. Once they get to the top Tsume ask the million-dollar question.
"What are we doing up here for?" Tsume now wants to know what's going on.
"You see that window on the 2nd floor." I say as he points down towards that window.
"Yes." Tsume nods her head.
"Good don't miss it." I say as I run to the edge of the tower and backflips off the tower and starts crashing down.
"Master!" Tsume looks over the tower to see her master free falling all the way down until. I use magic in my body and pull all my magic down towards my feet and with that magic I stop myself from falling just enough so that I can roll into the window.
"He just used magic to stop the momentum of falling down is there nothing he can't do?" Tsume is shocked at what she sees she does not think she is ever seen that.
"Well master has expectation for me as well." Tsume runs and jumps off the top of the tower too and while it takes her a little longer to get the magic going, she stops herself from crashing to and she also rolls into the building.
"I wonder where we are?" Tsume gets up, looks around, and starts to smell something bad.
"Eww what's that smell?" Tsume says that covering her noise.
"It would seem we are in the room where they keep all their cleaning supplies." I looked around no wonder why the window was open. I laugh.
The two of them leave the room and what they see is a long 90-degree hallway with red carpets and blue walls, one wall has painting of what looks like a former king and the other wall has painting of people in suits. If one were to go straight ahead it would be the card room where people play blackjack poker and all other gambling games the other room the one where if you turn right and walk down, it is full of nothing but slot machines and other games. That is where all the normal and common people gamble. Most people do not normally play card games that is preserved for the rich. Those who can buy a bunch of chips to spend. The common people would normally have fun at the slots. While thinking about which room I wants to go into first, he hears cheers on the room straight ahead of himself. The card room is having allot more fun at this hour.
"SO Tsume you want to see how card games work?" Tsume is confused as she follows Soren toward the Card room. The card room itself is a spacious room with purple carpets with diamond patterns covering the whole floor. It has golden yellow walls. It has a dozen or so tables of certain games, it seems like blackjack poker twenty-one and roulette are just some of the games that are played here.
He looks right at all those normal gambling games, and he sees games that could only be played here because they are magic based games like magic guessing to see what the owner of the table type magic will use. If you guess he will use fire magic, you win if you guess wrong you lose. Off to the distance of the tables you can see a crowd forming at one of the tables, it is a twenty-one table.
"YA he het 21 again!!" Someone in the crowd says.
"That's 1000 Royal bloomcoins." The worker says as he hands one hundred chips to a man at the other end of the table. The man smirks and speaks.
"All in…" he pushes the chips all back at the worker who then takes the chips and starts shuffling the cards. He puts one card in front of himself and then he hands the man a card. He then does it again. The cards the dealer receives are a king and eight spades. So that means he is at 18 A king and queen mean ten points while if you get an Ace, it could be 10 points or one. The mysterious man gets a queen on his first hit. And a five on his second.
"Hit me." He speaks. Then the dealer hands him the card and it reads for 6 years. The dealer busted by having twenty-four…
"21…. Congratulations, you won ten thousand bloom coins. You are surely lucky tonight. sir" The worker says. "Wow who is he? He certainly has luck for days." An audience member says while watching the twenty-one games.
I go up to the table to see whats going on and on the table next to the player is a stack of chips which are equal to ten thousand bloom coins. I's eye does widen in shock after seeing someone win so much money.
"Lady luck never is that virtues on one person his luck must go down from here." As he tries to see who it who is winning that much money, he cannot see his full face because he is wearing a mask that covers his upper face that is shaped like a fox. The man with the masked notices a kid has somehow gotten into the casino floors.
"Hey, who let that brat in?" the masked man says that, and all the attention goes to I who must think of a plan quickly to not get thrown out.
"Uh I'm a VIP Son a noble who attending Arcane I got a city pass to explore anywhere in the city as I see fit." I lie through my teeth. The lie worked because of how nice my clothes are. I turned my slime coat that I wear as Wraith into a suit and tie outfit made of dark blue slime fabric.
"So, you are. Do you know how to play twenty-one?" The masked man smirks. "I do but I only have 1k bloomcoins to bet I don't nearly have enough as you do sir." I say as he pulls out his pocket that he has 1k of bloom coins he put on the table. "that's fine by me." The mask man hands the dealer enough chips for a thousand bloomcoins. "Let's have a little game of 21 the man says." The dealer nods and starts to shuffle his deck of cards, breaking it apart into a way that no one could count them. He gives a card to Soren that is head down he gives a card to the mask man that is head down, and he gives himself a card that is head down. Soren looks at his card and he gets an Ace of spades; the masked man gets a king of spades, and the dealer gets a queen of hearts.
"Hit me." The mask man says and then the dealer gives him a card which is queen which means he is at 20. The two of them look at Soren. Who sighs.
"Hit me." Soren says and the crowd, goes ecstatic that the man who has been winning all night might just won again." Wow he at 20 he is going to win." A crowd person says. "Soren, I hope your lucky today." Tsume says.
The dealer gives Soren a card and it is a king and the dealer gives himself a card which is a 9 so the dealer is at 19 the masked man is at 20 and Soren could either be at 11 or 21.
The dealer looks at the masked man "Hit or stay?" The dealer asks.
"I'm staying." The mask man says.
The dealer looks at Soren "Hit or stay." The dealer asks again. Soren grins. "I'm staying." Soren says confidently. "Alright players flip your cards. The dealer flips his cards which is nineteen, so he is out then the mask man flips his cards at its twenty, so he is out. Then the whole crowd looks at Soren and they all wonder if Soren won or if he lost and in dramatic fashion, he flips his cards, and it is a king and an Ace which means he won.
"WOW 21 on the dot the someone finally beat the champion tonight." the crowd erupts in cheers that the undefeated twenty-one player finally lost. The masked man gives off a sigh.
"Well, I guess you can't win at everything, and this is lady luck telling me I should stop." The masked man says.
"Aw you're going to quit when you lose one game?" A drunk crowd watcher says. "Unlike normal gamblers I know when I peaked, and this will be my peak." The masked man says. "Besides someone with luck greater then my own is a worry some deal I'll have to keep him in mind moving forward." The masked man thinks.
"Wow congratulations on winning." Tsume says as she high fives Soren the crowd that was once circling the man who kept on winning finally disbursed like a bubble the moment he lost. The only people left were the dealer Soren Tsume and the mask man. "I'm sorry to steal your rhythm by winning." Soren says sheepishly rubbing the back of his head laughing.
"No worries young man I was going to lose eventually that's how gambling works gambling wouldn't be fun if you always win then there no point to it." The masked man says that then gets up from his chair.
"Dealer sorry for making me your only customer tonight here a little something for your troubles." The mask man hands him a chunk of bloomcoins 1k in total. "Wow thank you so much sir. Beside it was fun seeing one person win the entire night." The dealer says holding on to the chunk of change he got.
Soren however was narrowing his eyes.
"Normally when you win that much you must have done some terrible things in your life to get lucky. The least I could do is ask for his name." Soren thinks to himself. "Sir before you leave could you tell me your name." Soren says.
"My name? Why would a noble kid want my name?" The man asks. "it's more for my sake" Soren replies.
"Oh, is it now…" The man thinks. "Well, if you want to know my name is Shroud." All you can see is his short red hair and his grin he gives out when he says his name.
"Shroud…" Tsume is confused she had heard that name before but cannot remember where.
As he says his name, Shroud leaves the room leaving it just the three of them. "Dealer I think we should get going, let's go Tsume." Soren says he and Tsume leave the room with all the poker tables. They go back to the L corridor where they first entered the room building.
"We have about 1 more hour before we have to go back to the hotels before she wants to suddenly wake up and come check up on me and if I'm gone that'll really piss her off." Soren Shudders at the thought of upsetting his maid/combat expert.
"Let's check out the other room!" Tsume says. Throughout the rest of the time, they had an enjoyable time at the casino, but the time came and went, and they had to go back to the hotel before they were caught sneaking out. They were able to get back on top of the roof of the building easily and using the slime gear they both shot out of the building in the direction of the hotel. While they were going back to the hotel Tsume was thinking of something.
"Shroud I've heard that name before, but I can't remember where." Tsume thinks. As they reach their hotel it is when the light bulb hit Tsume. They finally land at the hotel, and She says." Shroud that right. Hibana said that one of the ten cult members was named shroud I cannot believe we let him slip. Ah man Hibana going to kill me." Tsume says with her hand on her head in a panic motion.
"Don't worry about losing him I put some slime magic on him before we left, I knew he looked suspicious but to think we would actually run into one of the cult members here in Arcane what luck lucky me." Soren says. "So, do you plan to go after him right away? Also how did you guess he was a cult member?" Tsume ask confused.
"He was winning allot and normally someone with that much luck crashes and burns he crashed when my luck out won his so based on that I new he was some bad guy." Soren says that as the two of them jump into the room where Soren was staying.
"So Tsume where are you going to stay?" Soren says he is getting ready for sleep. "With you boss!" Tsume replies. "Theres not enough space here on the bed for you to sleep." Soren says. "Its fine I'll sleep there on the couch." Tsume points to the couch.
"Well, that is fine, but you better wake up early I do not want them noticing you. "Alrighty Tsume saying raising her hand then the two of them went off to sleep and the following morning we cut the the room next to Soren which has Rebecca snoring and has sake in the next. She was not going to wake up last night and found out Soren went out.
"Ugh its morning already? Rebecca says waking up groaning she rubs her eyes, gets dressed in her battle outfit and she has her sword ready. Even though she became an adventurer instead of an Ace knight. Knights who are apart from the military. Rebecca still attended the academy that Soren sister is at the Royal Aceburg knight academy where they train you in politics and swordsman ship. Rebecca was top of her class when she attended, and she hopes that while she's the the capital she can help Soren sister who is already training to be an Ace Knight.
"Heh another day of bothering Soren. Speaking of which I hope that brat is still in his room it will be a shame if he tried to sneak out." Rebecca thinks as she gets ready, walks to her door, and opens it and head to the room next door TO Soren room and since she has a key, she lets herself in and to her surprise she sees Soren is in his room still sleeping. She smirks then she has an evil grin.
"Hey brat we got to get going so get wake up already." Rebecca bonks him on the head, and he does wake up to that. "Ouch what the hell?" Soren is now bruising a lump on his forehead. "What the hell was that for?" Soren asks with a scowl on his face. "Come on that was funny." Rebecca says laughing.
"Hmph Sure it was." Soren says rubbing his head. "So why did you hit me Its still morning?" Soren says yawning. "Well, I want us to food and get the other adventures and head out for the capital. Soren when you grow up do you know if you want to be an Ace knight or an adventure?" Rebecca asks to try to make small talk with Soren. "I do not know yet my whole family beside my mother was or is trying to be an Ace Knight. So that is in my pathway." Soren says that as he gets out of bed. Some time passes and Soren is currently in a horse carriage with Rebecca and the rest of the adventures that they hired. At least they think Soren is with them he is currently using a slime clone; a clone of slime that can do most things he can do but cannot use magic or any physical abilities that the main body has. The reason he is not with them right now is because he is with Tsume on the other side of town hunting down Shroud.
"Man, this guy likes to stay in the best part of town, this hotel dwarfs the hotel we stayed at." Soren is looking at a 5-star hotel. With water streams shooting out of the lobby and just walking in the room everything is tinted gold even the registration desk is covered in gold it has a red wall and a lavish staircase. It has floors and Arcanes most famous and Wealthy stay at this hotel perfect for a big-time criminal boss a cult of veil member.
"SO, are you positive Shroud is the 10th seat of rounds in the Malakar?" Soren says that while covered in his slime gear from head to toe and his partner Tsume is also wearing a slime suit but hers is more battle ready. Soren has a hoody covering his head and he has a smiling slim mask with flowers covering his face. The pattern of his outfit is flowers, red flowers that match his Dark blue slime suit.
"So, Wraith do you need my help here? Fighting shroud, I to would like to participate in the hunt." Tsume says licking her lips in anticipation. "If you want to deal with the fodder cult members that's fine by me Tsume." Wraith. "Can you tell where shroud is at?" Tsume asks, sniffing the air, trying to pick up his scent.
"Yes, I do I can sense my own magic on floor 6." Wraith says this and rushing the first floor of the reception room and goes straight for the stair. Tsume is right behind him. They run up the stairs past the 2nd to the 3rd and 4th. On the sixth floor where shroud is staying, he has about ten or so men standing outside of the floor standing guard. And they are staying hearing commotion from the stairs. One of the drawers is their sword ready for whatever is coming. What comes after him is a blur of dark blue and then behind the blur is a claw stabbing straight through the mans chest killing him.
"Let the hunt begin." Dahlia says as she pulls the claw from the dead body using her ultimate magic Claw magic followed that up with slime gear and that combination is not one you want to fight against. Soren laughs at the sight.
"Man, she really lives up to her Beastkin tribe what the name they give her race? Ah yah Feraliths, from what I have read they are a might makes right race of Beastkin where only the strong lead the tribes." Soren thinks to himself as he sees his companion slaughter the men Shroud put in charge of keeping himself safe.
"Have fun hunting Dahlia ill go on ahead." Soren says that then he shoots forward towards the door he feels his magic at which means in this room will be Shroud a truly evil man who tries to hide himself among the normal a man who blends in with humanity even though he is lost his own humanity a long time ago. Inside the room with Shroud we see a desk that has a mask on it the one he wore to the casino he's currently looking himself at the mirror you see a man in his late 20's early 30 with a scruffy beard brown eyes and on his left eye is a giant X tatoo that symbolizes 10 in roman numerals. He is currently grinning right now because in one of the rooms the bathroom is a tied-up human.
"Even though Geto failed at bringing me experiment for the veil I have found one here. I think the cult will be happy." he grins evilly, and the person tied up tries to talk but Shroud slaps that person with his back hand sending them flying back. Outside of his room you can hear swords clashing with other swords which get Shrouds attention.
"What is going on? Can't the guards shut up?" Shroud is wondering what that noise is outside when suddenly outside his door he hears a crash and the door keeping him from being exposed to the hallway is now completely blown open. What shroud see is a young man who looks to be five'4 only because he is 8 years old by Shroud does not know that. He sees the Dark Blue coat's attire with flower patterns covering his coat, a hooded figure and a smiling mask with flower patterns surrounding the mask. A dark blue sword with a flower hilt.
"You I have heard of you. The Cult warned me about someone whos been snapping at us recently. We do not know your name, but you have been a hassle." Shroud says that as he reaches for the desk with the mask and opens the desk and pulls out a sword. The sword is tinted black and after he unsheathed his sword black magic starts covering his body.
"In a shadowless deep in an ocean without a floor evil always lurks around this world this city. In schemes of darkness he conspired against kids to quench his own thirst of power and desire to try to be from 10 to 1 he carved at a city at its residents he who has twisted thoughts and a venomis mind a flower bloomed to stop that he from going deeper into the darkness he, he who has fallen into a downfall will be saved by Wraith." Soren says that poem about being saved by your enemy and walks towards Shroud who uses a sword slash called Shadow travel a slash a darkness magic and Soren easily dodges that slash and charges Shroud slicing up words when his sword was down cutting Shrouds chest.
"Damn how did you dodge my Darkness magic? I can control and manipulate darkness. I have never lost a fight. I am a cult member, one of the strongest members of one of the strongest organizations. No way can I lose to a bunch of newcomers. I will not stop I will win I will have everything!" Shroud rages and his darkness magic starts to shoot out everywhere and he jumps from the door the other side of the hotel room and his magic alone cracks the wall of his room and completely breaks it open allowing his to jump out from the hotel landing on top of a bakery next to the hotel roof top. He thinks he got away from the mask man, but he did not a dark blue blob forms next to Shroud and a sword appears from it striking shroud in his shoulder.
"I wonder." Soren thinks as he pulls the sword from Shrouds shoulder.
"Ugh I will not be stopped here. Not here. Not by the likes of." Darkness just completely swarms the top of the building and Soren gets in tangled with the darkness too.
"Kuroana." A Finale magic technique used by Shroud, the expert in darkness magic.
"Finally with the bleed effect of my sword I could start to easily kill this man. Huff huff huff." Shroud is now tired after using his finale technique Kuroana, but he thinks he won since he surrounded Soren in complete darkness. He uses the darkness to launch dark spikes in the sphere at Soren who easily dodges them all using his magic eyes that allow him to see magic as an energy he has weaved and dodge.
"I think I've humored him enough." Soren thinks to himself then he swings his sword once which break the darkness sphere surrounding him and he points out his hand and razor bladed slime spikes shoot out of his hand rushing straight for Shroud which cuts and slices him up he loose a arm a leg and one goes in the heart killing him.
"Phew that is over with. I wonder why they wanted him dead much." Soren says as he retacts all his slime and heads back to the hotel.
Back at the hotel Tsume kill the final soldier by using a slime sword cutting him in half. It a brutal sight seeing her covered now in blood she lives up to her race as a brutal killer.
"Wow Tsume that was interesting." Soren says as he looks around at all the dead bodies.
"Yes, boss it was a good hunt number 10 of the cult is no more a fun one can we eat food?" Tsume ask with both hands up.
"I would love to, but I got a carriage to catch up to will you be ok with returning to Embers by yourself?" Soren asks.
"Yes."
"Ill seeing you back home then." Soren says patting her head. He then thinks to himself." I saw someone else in the shrouds room. I should check that out that could be my treasure for all this and Arcane is a big metropolis i doubt my carriage would have made it to the main gates by now." Soren looks at the direction of the hotel, then he disappears.
Later, in the room the Shroud stay in Soren jumps through the wall that shroud destroyed. In that room there is tied up and gagged.
"So, I was right Shroud was the only kidnapping those kids back at the port city. I wonder why?" Soren thinks. As he walks towards the person who looks no longer the same age as him around 9 years old with long brown flowing hair bangs that go down to her eye blue eyes that look devoid of life. She is wearing black jeans and a shirt that has multiple assorted colors on them that has no patterns to them.
"Hello." Soren says as he uses his slime magic to cut the rope and tools that were binding her together.
"Who are you? Are you with them?" The girl gets into a fighting stance.
"No, I am not with shroud." Soren says waving his hands is a denying motion.
"Ugh." The girl grabs her head then falls to one knee.
"Ever since I woke up 4 months ago, I don't know who I am or where I came from, I just knew that I didn't like that man from before." The girl is confused she does not have amnesia she completely does not have any memories up toward 4 months ago.
"Do you know who you are?" Soren asks. "No." she says.
"Another case." Soren thinks to himself. As he does this, he covers himself back into his slime suit. "My name is Wraith a rock that crushes the darkness and it looks like you were affected by this darkness because you have no memory of your past. The cult was using you, for what? We still have not found that out." Soren says. "Cult? What is the cult?" The girl asks confused.
"The cult is an evil organization that is built on staying in the shadows. You will not hear about the on the radios or papers, but they are the ones in charge of those papers and the people who run the world they are in charge they are bent on kidnapping people right now." Soren says he has a fist out.
"Those bastards. How can they do this? Its wrong." The girl says as she punches the floor.
"It is but I'm forming a group to fight against the cult called Wraithborne" Soren says this as he puts on his mask going back into Wraith.
"I want to join you." The girl says.
"It'll be tough we will fight society that doesn't know the truth and they will hate us for knowing the truth." Soren replies.
"I don't care we need to stop them from doing anymore harm." The girl says swiping her hand in anger. After she requests to join there is a long pause from Soren who did it intentionally to build up the tension.
"Alright you'll be my 3rd in command of Wraithborne." Soren says with three fingers in the air.
"Yes, I now have a purpose." The girl says.
"What is your name?" Soren asks.
"My name I want to abandon that name I want this life to be my new life fighting against the cult of Malakar it is the right cause. Can you give me a new name?" The girl asks.
"A name huh? Its like I am gathering a pack of wolfs giving names to all of them." Soren thinks.
"Trillium. It is a beautiful flower that symbolizes love and has three petals. Soren says as he reaches his hand out to trillium who takes it.
"Trillium… I like it. As Trillium grabs Soren hand Soren's slime suit starts to ingulf Trillium covering her in a complete cocoon. Then after a couple of minutes of their magics synching together Trillium comes out of the cocoon. Wearing dark blue slime gear but for her she can change the color of the gear all she wants thanks to her own special technique magic like how Tsumes claw special technique gives the suit better striking distance Trilliums suit helps her change colors. If she wants to wear all-black gear, she could.
"I knew I was right to recruit you to my group." Soren smirks.
