Chapter 5 - Roy's Head-patting Kill

"Oh!" "Mage Guild? I haven't joined any."

Roy shook his head. He had only traveled to this world half an hour ago, and if it wasn't for meeting Erza by chance, he would be completely unfamiliar with this world. How could he have possibly joined any Mage Guild?

"That's great!"

Hearing Roy's words, Erza's beautiful eyes shone with surprise, and her voice suddenly raised, showing her joy. "So, would you like to join our Fairy Tail? Although it can be a bit noisy, it's a very warm guild!"

Erza couldn't wait to extend an invitation to Roy, and her voice was filled with pride for her guild.

"Besides, our guild is ranked number one in Fiore! I promise, it definitely won't disappoint you."

Hearing Erza's words, a thoughtful look appeared on Roy's face as he began to consider whether joining the guild would help him increase his justice points.

After a bit of thought, Roy came to a positive answer.

Joining Fairy Tail, huh? It's not a bad choice.

His system requires him to defeat evil or perform acts of justice that align with his inner desires in order to increase his justice points.

Even though he didn't know what exactly counted as "aligning with his inner desires," he did know how to defeat evil.

Just like how he defeated the spider monster just now, he could defeat other monsters or evil mages.

Although Roy didn't remember much of the plot of *Fairy Tail*, he knew that this guild was the center of the story in the original work. After the plot began, many different villains would definitely appear.

If he joined this guild, it would certainly be very helpful in increasing his justice points.

All he needed to do was follow the protagonist group, and he would naturally gain a large amount of justice points.

Moreover, as the number one guild in Fiore, Fairy Tail must regularly receive many mission requests. Roy could take on tasks like subduing bandits or killing monsters to increase his justice points.

So, why not?

"Then, please take me back to the guild, Ms. Erza." Roy gave Erza a bright smile, indicating his willingness to join Fairy Tail.

"That's great!"

Erza, who had been watching Roy with hopeful eyes, couldn't help but jump for joy when she heard that Roy agreed to join the guild.

Then, realizing she had lost her composure, Erza gave Roy an embarrassed smile.

Erza didn't understand why her emotions were so volatile today, unlike her usual calm and resolute self.

But it didn't matter, as long as Roy agreed to join the guild.

Erza didn't dwell on the matter.

Then, remembering how Roy had just addressed her, Erza pursed her beautiful lips, a generous and cheerful smile appearing on her face. She said, "Just call me Erza! No need to be so formal, Roy."

Roy nodded and smiled. "Alright, Erza."

"Well then, let's get back to the guild!"

Erza's spirits lifted, and she was full of energy.

"Yes!" Roy nodded again.

Then, he saw Erza's face fall, and her entire aura suddenly deflated.

"I'm really sorry. If it weren't for the poison earlier, I could have used the magic four-wheeler to carry you back."

"But now, I can't even use enough magic power to take out the magic scroll. Also, there are no more trains running from Oak Town today, so I'll have to trouble you to walk back to Magnolia with me."

Erza touched her head, her pleasant voice now tinged with a hint of embarrassment.

She hadn't realized it before, but when she tried to use her magic to take out the scroll, she discovered her magic had unknowingly been drained while fighting the poison.

Clearly, as the one inviting someone to join the guild, she should have taken on the responsibilities of a senior. But now she was making him walk back to the guild with her. Erza, you're a big failure!

Thinking of this, Erza lowered her head, her mood suddenly turning very gloomy.

"How about you hit me once!"

Having gone through a dark past, Erza had unknowingly developed a mindset where mistakes deserved punishment.

So, she suggested that Roy hit her as punishment.

"Why would I hit you? Besides, I have a way for us to avoid walking. Don't be upset."

Seeing Erza looking so down, Roy laughed heartily and reassured her.

He naturally refused her request to hit her.

Hitting a beautiful girl, of course, he could do it if he had to.

As long as they were his enemies, no matter how beautiful, he could strike without hesitation.

But right now, there was no need for that!

Erza hadn't offended him, nor was she his enemy, so why would he hit her?

Even if they really had to walk back, he wouldn't hit her! Besides, Roy had his own way to get them back without walking.

"Erza is such a cute and somewhat silly girl!"

Roy, who didn't know much about the *Fairy Tail* original story, had already formed an impression of Erza based on her current behavior.

Then, as someone who had been a head-patting fanatic before he traveled here, Roy placed his big hand on Erza's little head, gently rubbing it to comfort her.

With their height difference and Erza lowering her head, it was a natural gesture.

Moreover, in Roy's opinion, Erza at this moment was like a little sister who needed care, so he couldn't help but perform this affectionate gesture..
