Paula was shocked, you can't sincerely describe her surprise as a shock because she felt more than that. You know a situation where you stare at a particular person or scene for some time and the next thing you see is a void space, you get totally lost, not seeing or hearing any sound.
That was the exact way Paula stood before her educator, she was lost, with nothing to say or do. Her mind was blank, no thought was even crossing it, she just stared perplexed at the discovery.
"Disculpe?", she managed to say finally.
"You dare lie to me over and over again? I don't even know you, I just met you for the first time and you try . . .. . . .", She was still struggling with the right words to say when Dalton cut in.
"I'm not lying to you, Paula. . . And I can never do that", drifting from her, he made her sit on the couch.
"What is all this?", Crying now, "Can.. .ca. . . Can you . . .please help me. . . Understand?", she pleaded drying her face.
"I just told you, we . . ."
"I'm not some fucking hombre lobo, I can't be a werewolf, never!", Agitated, she stood to her feet, "The people you saw in my house are my real parents, they have no tires with werewolves neither I'm an afflicted one", drawing in more strength
"My Pa. . .", She was still speaking when Dalton snapped, he was angry already "
Your Pa didn't tell you the whole truth about yourself, . . . . . . . about your family", he demonstrated with his hands, "Can't you see?", He lowered his voice.
"See what?", She snapped feeling irritated.
Drawing very close to her as usual he started, "Don't you hear voices in your head, not your other self, a clear different voice telling you everything you need to know at all times!".
Laughing hysterically, seeing the changes in her face like she had just been open to some misterio.
"Voi. . . . ce", she said shakily looking at him like a prophet, "Pa, told me they are sounds in everybody's head", she added letting down more tears, "Ma, didn't even tell me", she whispered.
" You don't have to feel betrayed, it was for your own good. . . Left for ya Maama, you wouldn't have known until you leave this planet", spreading his hands, "which can't be possible, huh. . . . . . you have to get used to the fact Paula".
Looking up at him, "I don't have anything like the wolves, it's normal to hear voices, I could be something else", Paula said refusing his revelation.
Smiling weakly, "What have your Ma said since the invasion of your village?"
Her Ma, has said nothing concerning the plundering, she was always sitting inside crying her heart out, and that must be the reason she treated Marcus harshly. Paula stared in total denial, the people she referred to as family for years now seemed to her like strangers, unrecognizable ones at that.
"How do you know all this?", She asked, eager to know more.
"I'm the Alfa, the only true leader of the werewolf clan. I know everything, I see and hear all that ordinary humans can't see nor hear", throwing his hands to his back .. . . . . . "your ma was a naive young lady who got her entire destiny stuck with a werewolf. She sure doesn't like the outcome, so she behaves coldly towards your Pa"
The deeper the revelation the more annoyed and betrayed Paula felt. She never knew all these things had been going on, not once had her parents mentioned things of this nature to her, not even jokingly.
Dalton continued after waiting for her to comprehend the painful truth, "This is the prompt for your supernatural self, it will be the only key that can unlock the padlock to the hidden strength in you", sitting back.
"Why didn't my Pa tell Ma about his true self", Paula asked dismayed.
"She would leave, she has to stay and give birth to you", He answered refusing more details.
"Another would have done that, isn't . . ."
"She was destined for it, nothing can change destiny even if it is delayed".
"What does my Ma have to do with this?", She asked again not wanting to leave off details.
Taking a deep breath, "Your ma is from the ancient Baker's family that rebelled against the then clan, . . . . . . simply put, she is an Omega", getting up again, he dived more.
"You see, the Omega, your Ma's family rebelled against the dynasty and ran from the village before anyone could catch them. After several years of search, they were caught and brought to the Alfa who ruled a brutal judgment on them and their generations to come"
Without blinking she questioned further, "What was the decree"
Drawing in air, he put his hands in his trouser pocket, turned his back to her, and moved towards the window looking outside, "They were stripped of their powers, making them like humans, and every first female child born of them were to birth the Beta. This is made possible by a decreed marriage to a true wolf, in that way they can attain their powers again".
Looking through his shoulder, he saw how quiet Paula sat listening, and he went on, "After which they were acclaimed, Excommunicado in other words, 'exiles' ", his voice dropped in conclusion.
Wow...hahaha...what an excellent dynasty, an authoritarian one at that", getting serious all at once,
"I'm sure they acted on their right before the king flexed his veto power on them", Paula added angrily.
"You say no such thing because you know nothing", Dalton yelled angrily.
"After so many hash decrees why did the clan keep them still, huh. . . Mr. Know All", she accused breaking down in tears.
Dalton stood still, with his hands in his pocket controlling the anger before it shone bright like a diamond.
"You should open your mind to this, it's even bigger than you think", taking his seat with his hands covering his face he let out in frustration, "It is coming back again, this time, it's much bigger, and faster", he signed heavily relaxing his back to the chair.
"They weren't totally free because of the secret the dynasty needed to protect. Even after wiping their memories, it can return one after the other gradually".
Paula just sat on the floor with her back to the bed frame crying.
"We need you", Covering a large pace in a few minutes, he went to Paula, holding her hand "We. . . need. . . you . . .Paula, Please"
Since she had been with him, it was the first time he heard him say 'Please', she looked at him deeply surprised,
"I know, I know", smiling and nodding his head, he said again " Paula por favor".
This time he meant it and she knew it.
"Who am I", She asked quietly looking into his attractive eyes.
"You are one of the seven people destined to change the adversity of the enemy", seeing her quest for more info, he added "It is too enormous, I can't say them all here and now"
Nodding, she stubbornly asked again," Perdoneme, who is the enemy".
"The Vampires. . . .", he answered, lifting her to her feet, "I know you have so many questions but we need to leave now, let's go to ya place".
They had been in the room for too long unaware of the rushing day. It was getting dark already and driving to the town would take hours so, Paula decided to remain in the suite.
Dalton didn't accept the decision at first but after several persuasion, he accepted and locked her in the room not sure of what might happen to her, in his absence.
Immediately Dalton bounced out of the room, Paula went swiftly to his luggage and started searching for what God knows what. She removed his dresses one after the other, going through them carefully, she spread them out expecting to meet a weird book or anything relating to a werewolf.
That should keep her busy all night.
Back in the town, Dalton returned past the time for the curfew as predicted, his other agents were already at their point. He first of all went to Marcus to assure him that Paula was safe before heading to his boss who was already angry staring with some deadly eyes.
"I'm late, I will just catch up with the rest in the woods", he said running into the woods.
Henry couldn't say anything, he just stared at him knowing his unapologetic boy so well.
The wait in the woods was a tough one, everywhere was dark and silent as usual, the men were not scared for any reason. They brought out their drinks sat on the floor and drank heartily, roasting the rodent they caught from the bush.
"I don't believe in this werewolf phenomenon bro", one of them said, hitting Dalton on the shoulder. He was obviously drunk.
"It's not the doing of the werewolves, they just got mixed up in this somehow", Dalton explained calmly.
"Hmm.... ...you think so?", He asked lying down on the bare floor.
All the men had slept apart from Dalton, none of them believed in the information they were given and just drank their night into sleep. Dalton standing up, moved around casually, with his hands in his pocket.
"The full moon is in four days", he said looking at the moon through the leaves spread over it.
Just then, a creaking sound from the woods came fast to his hearing, he could hear sounds from miles off. Turning swiftly he went to where the other guys were, and behold a scary-looking Vampire stood holding one of them up, staring with a scary smile at him.
Before he could move to rescue the sleeping piece of shit, he had deep his fangs into Max's neck, soaking the blood from him. Max moaned in pain before dropping dead. He turned pale immediately.
Venting his anger, Dalton chased the vampire with all the werewolf energy he had in him. The vamp was fast and tricky, which he expected and so he channeled in all his strength.
The reports he got were true then, the vamp clan was arranging something that would send their world to extinction. They killed people in the same format they did at the drawing of the full moon, he promised to kill this one in particular to send a challenging accepted message.
Throwing him to a wood, he pressed his neck against it before breaking it. Lifting him with just a hand he pressed his belly against his sword which he held with his other hand.
Being sure of the self-recovery ability of vampires he severed his head out with just a swing of the sound. The body landed loudly on the pile of fallen trees, waking his companions.
"This alone will tell that vampires are the perpetrators", he said sheathing his sword.
