We fly back to the moon Sulis III. Darrin is dropped off with the Stellar Flare, so we had back to the capital to see princess Cadence. My hope is she might shed some light on our discovery before I confront Stella. We arrive at our destination back at the castle. Melena and Soul are waiting at the base for us. After we land on the nearby pad we walk down the long hallway into the main area. Marcus is beyond excited, oohing and aahing at all the murals on the walls and windows. I, on the other hand, was on edge. Whispers crept into my ears as we walk down the halls. We are surrounded by Sultarian Defense Forces and they are armed to the teeth, but I can't help but feel an extreme danger around me. My heart beats through my chest. The world grows quiet, forcing me to take everything in. The sun starts to set into the mountains. The city starts to light up allowing its light to pass brightly through the windows. Melena walks ahead and opens the door for us.
We nod, thanking her and she leaves along with Soul, who waves to us as he follows her back. We cross through the doorway into another set of doors. The doors behind us close, allowing the doors in front to open. As we enter, the room opens up, enormously. It is completely empty and shaped into an octagon. The roof is entirely made of a glass material, and the gas giant Sulis is in full view, doubling as a major source of light. In the center of it all is Cadence, laying on the floor and staring into the sky. She moves a little as the doors close behind us, shifting her head for a better look at who's there. She sees us and smiles, jumping to her feet and coming to greet us.
She wore another white dress. This one was short, at least up to her lower thighs and it was made from a material I was not familiar with. It shimmers in the light from the gas giant above and has a kind of floaty motion as she moved around. She had a holster strapped to her back with her sword located inside of it.
"Demi. It's good to see you." she says
"Likewise, ma'am."
"We are still working on the Meklar situation, so currently I don't have anything for you yet."
She turns her attention to Marcus. Immediately, her entire demeanor changes. She locks onto him, biting her lip as she observes him from every angle. She was so close to him she was practically breathing on him and he was extremely excited by it.
"And who might this handsome gentleman be?" She asks.
"Marcus Jones, ma'am." He says.
"Interesting. And what do you do around here?"
He laughs a little as she circles him and places her hand on his chin, pulling it towards her.
"I'm a pilot. I specialize in ships that are very large and powerful."
"Really? Have I seen any of your ships?"
"Maybe, I can show you sometime, if you'd like. Many of my passengers have said they are very fun to ride."
"Is that right, skyboy?"
They were all over each other at this point. Cadence was whispering something in his ear as he proceeded to run his hand up and down the back open part of her outfit. I couldn't hear the conversation but whatever it was made Marcus giggle before she kisses him and backs away. She then turns her attention back to me. Marcus was left so flustered and excited he couldn't react or say anything for a few brief moments.
"Sorry about that." She says, "I didn't expect you to bring someone so delicious here."
"Delicious?" I ask.
"We'll talk again soon. Ok skyboy?"
Marcus nods as she winks to him.
"Now then," she continues. "What can this lovely princess do for the both of you?"
"First, I'm sorry about your-."
"-Don't!" she says. "I always have plans for this sort of thing. Don't worry your cute little face about it."
I told her about my investigation about my father and how it led into a path of lies and secrets. She shakes her head in disappointment upon hearing this.
"I'm so sorry Demi." she says.
"That leads me to the next part."
"What do you mean?"
"We did some digging and found a scientist that was kidnapped some years ago. Turns out he was a part of the investigation your father was looking into."
"Really?"
"The man claimed that he was kidnapped by...Varamount Industries."
Cadence's eyes light up. Visually I could almost see the wave of thoughts going through her head.
"Va-Varamount?"
"Yes ma'am."
As Candence sorts her thoughts, Marcus returns to his senses, standing next to me as we talk. Cadence then turns her attention to him again.
"How much do you know?" she asks.
"As much as you do ma'am." Marcus says
She turns back to me.
"And do you trust him."
"With my life."
"Good. We don't want to confront her yes about this, we need more information. Where are you with that?"
"I have a contact who is looking into some recordings from my father. I haven't heard from him yet."
"Good. Keep at it. Let me know if anything changes."
"Yes ma'am."
Marcus and I head for the door, but not before being stopped again.
"Before you go." Cadence continues, "Keep this between us. I don't want anyone outside of this room know about it yet."
"Ok."
