Chapter 4 - Facing truths

Celestra turned away from Ma'am Ariella and looked towards the front where Bora Calyndor or Celesta's mother spoke out, making Celestra listen intently. "We will fight them back and go to their land!" Bora yelled out, making the chatter go still before erupting into cheers. Someone shouting out will raise their hands and other clapping, but of those that did that, there were still the younger vampires who had rarely or never been outside the clan walls, and to be faced with the chance of fighting scared them, making their faces twisted with despair.

The crowd continued their chatter as both Isiah and Bora walked from the front, going towards the main house that held all meetings, presumably to discuss a plan moving forward. Ma'am Ariella looked back at Celestra while she fanned herself with her black hand-held fan. "Lord Isiah had come baring the clan bad news." She said it dryly, not showing much emotion.

"Tell me! What did Sir Isiah report?" Celestra quickly jumped in, feeling anticipation and wanting to know what she missed during the meeting in the courtyard.

A clinking was heard as Ma'am Ariella slammed her fan close against her hand and looked at Celestra moving her head higher. "Noble vampires from the Rosera Clan have been coming into Calynrina." She said her voice was a bit more low but indifferent.

Celestra's eyes widened at the news, gripping the silver locket that was around her neck. Celestra couldn't help but let her mind drift to Blairda, the thought of vampires from another scaring her and her heart aching with the loss of her friend.

Ma'am Ariella eyed Celestra and noticed her hurt expression and sighed and put the fan she held in a small pocket slip in her regal black and blue dress, and looked up more, lifting her black feathered hat again. "Worry not!" Ariella said dryly as usual but still in a more comforting tone and continued, "This isn't very different as old times; the chief won't let her daughter be in distress, so don't worry." Ma'am Ariella lifted her right hand, patting Celestra's left shoulder, making Celestra look up at her.

For Celestra, it bothered her that the other clan members saw her as a weak member who needed to be sheltered being the walls of the clan, but more than that, she knew her inability to fight and defend herself. She sighed, letting go of her lock.

Turning to look up at Ma'am Ariella, Celestra spoke. "And what will you do?" Asking the noble lady. Ma'am Ariella let go of Celestra's shoulder and touched her golden blonde hair before speaking. "I'll be left with no choice but to fight!" She spoke strongly different from her usual dry and uninterested tone, her once brown orbs glowing indigo with power.

Celestra nodded slightly, understanding that though Ma'am Ariella was often soft spoken, she was still a fighter willing to go out and risk her now peaceful life. giving Ma'am Ariella a nod, Celestra spoke one final time. "Then I will fight too," she said and walked away from Ma'am Ariella, leaving her standing there in the chattering crowd of clan members.

Fight? Fight who? Celestra questioned herself, her face turning red as she walked away. Ugh, I thought I was cool when I said that. But suddenly she didn't take me seriously? Celestra questioned her action further, but it was too late; she had to walk away, her cheeks flush red.

Moving back threw the crowd Celestra felt the collar of her dress being pulled. She turned around, wondering who it was; her face was still slightly red, but when she turned, she was met with the face of her sister Umure.

Umure wore an annoyed and uninterested face, wearing a simple brown and black dress, her figure slender, and her skin pale, all while she had her usual shoulder-length hair style.

"Mother would like to speak to us. Follow me." Umure said suddenly as she turned fast to leave, speaking with an annoyed tone before turning away and starting a fast pace toward the main home that they both lived in, located at the center of the town.

Just as fast as Umure appeared, Celestra had to quickly start into a jog, taking a moment to process her sister's words before finally going after her and heading towards their home, but as Celestra tried to keep up with her sister's tone, she started to ask various things on her mind.

"If there was an important meeting for all the clan members, why wasn't I woken up?" Celestra quickly jogged, making her breath turn heavy as she asked. "What is the Rosera clan doing in Calynrina?" Celestra further asked, now able to keep a relative pace to her younger sister. "What does Mother want to speak to us about?" Celestra asked a third question, this action making Umure stop in her tracks, Celestra now standing beside her also stopping.

Umure turned with an annoyed and defeated look, and looking at her sister, she spoke out. "Mother will explain all; be patient." Umure said to silence her sister and then continued, "Your not being left out." Umure further explained and once again started to walk, passing the white rose bushes that lined the courtyard.

This explanation silenced her, making her no longer argue as she once again had to jog to keep up with her sisters pace, but this time she didn't ask any questions, and she had lots of anticipation over what their mother would speak to them about.

They passed various other members from the clan being given slight nods as they got the acknowledgment for many members. Celestra made sure to give a bow back while Umure didn't turn to even look at them, let alone stop to talk. But just as Celestra struggled to keep up with her sister, she also found that they had quickly gotten to the center of the tone of the main big home that housed the chief and vice chief along with their family, but it was also being used as a conference place and office.

Celestra quickly approached after her sister and walked in, going down the long hallways and taking a right. Umure pace became slow when inside the home, only strolling as Celestra turned the conner and was met with her mother, Bora Calyndor.

Though Celestra had expected to see her mother, she was still startled to run into her in the hallways. Bora's face was tough and seemed to twitch with annoyance and anger as she turned her powerful gaze at Celestra and Umure.

"You two hurry now. Let's make haste and not waste time." Bora said seriously and watched into the room, whose door was open; it was the room to the meeting room. Celestra turned to Umure, trying to read her expression, but Umure was blank, her face uninterested, before quickly walking in after their mother. Celestra let out a sigh and clenched the locket slightly before deciding to walk into the room.
