Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

It was cold, did they have become night. All that was heard was fire and explosions going off in the background.

We received intel from our scouts that there was a containment facility where innocent prisoners were being kept.

Taking cover behind the barrier that Emma, one of my most trusted companions, made with her shield ability, I shot at our enemy forces using a high tech laser gun that I made within. Matter of seconds with my own ability.

In this world, well, at least in the country of Oresas, there is this serum at the every citizen in Oresas is given the choice to take.

This serum was called NanoFlux. An artificially engineered serum that grants people abilities like never before.

NanoFlux is the reason that our country was ahead of everyone else in the world by at least a hundred years.

Envied by the rest of the world, Oresas has the highest population rate due to people wanting to move here to for the serum.

However, with every good thing, there is always a downside.

Choosing to take the NanoFlux means trading away your freedom as said people cannot leave the Country by any means.

Those born in Oresas were given a choice to take the serum.

My parents...they didn't take the serum, and as a result.

They...were dealt with. By him.

"Lucas! We retrieved the last of the prisoners!" said one of my other companions on the streamline network. A Network used to create seamless communication, created by one of my guys, a tech wiz due to his NanoFlux ability.

Pressing down on the small button on my ear piece, I spoke, "Gotcha. If all the prisoners are safe, then we should get out of here." I informed my team. My gaze then shifted over to Emma who was firing away at our enemy forces.

"Emma! We're going!" I shouted, trying to outclass the volume of the gunfire.

Emma looked over and nodded. She then withdrew her gun and dug in her pocket, pulling out a mini disk like platelet which she threw on the ground between us.

The disk grew a bit in size, big enough to stand on. The front of the disk displayed a little number one on on.

Leaning closer, I switched the number to the number two by turning the small nob that the disk was connected to.

"Alright, it's set for two people." Emma nodded then spoke, "You should get on first, that way my barrier can hold up." said Emma, the barrier keeping out the bullets that shot out of the guns out enemy forces were using.

Nodding, I stood up and got on the disk. The disk glowed light blue then in an instant, my surroundings shifted to that of an abandoned warehouse. Our less then savory base. It's not in the best condition but it does it's job.
