Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Had I Sparked The Dispute Between The Big Shots?

Oris, hiding behind the trees, witnessed a battle between four beasts and a gigantic tree.

Despite being suppressed, the gigantic tree releases sharp tentacles that attack from above, while other pointy sharp roots attack from below.

All four beasts are in the Soul Germination stage and have undergone their first transformation, similar to Oris. The tree also emanates the Soul Germination stage aura, but its aura has much more depth than the beasts.

"That tree is in the final stage of the Soul Germination stage, but it is still suppressed by those four fellows in the early stage of the Soul Germination stage." Oris watched, entertained by their battle.

As they evaded the sharp roots and tentacles, Oris could see the beast clearly. In the same form as him, there is a bipedal lion, two humanoid bears, and a wolve man. All of these creatures have undergone their first transformation. They resemble a hybrid of a human and a beast.

After some time has passed, the enormous green tree begins to lose even more miserably as the four's flying spears become much more troublesome.

The four can fly and avoid the sharp roots and tentacles, but the gigantic tree is rooted and incapable of evading flying spears. The only way to defend itself is to release additional roots and tentacles to construct a protective shield.

"This is the first time I have seen a conscious tree. Even though I had read about such trees in miscellaneous books left by the venerable Monzinba, it was nonetheless astonishing to witness one in person. I am curious what kind of tree it is and why these four are going toe to toe with it." Oris mumbled as he pondered the actions of the four beasts.

True, Oris has gathered a lot of knowledge over the last two months by reading various books, but reading the books paled in contrast to the knowledge he obtained through knowledge impartation.

"Give up and give us the dryad seed, or I will use my flames to burn you to cinders." The lion beast spoke with arrogance and malice.

Oris eyes widdened with realization. So this tree is the kind that gives birth to dryad seed.

"If this is a dryad tree, it must have its dryad protecting it. Aren't the dryads considered sacred beasts in this world? This is the Empire of Dalmada, right? Why is the dryad tree forced to give out the seed? Isn't this akin to asking it to give up its baby?" Oris muttered his disapproval of the four's actions.

Just as Oris was outraged that these beasts were bullying the dryad tree, the dryad tree shined with dazzling green light, and a lovely elderly dryad emerged from the tree, turning its head to stare at Oris' location.

Oris was taken aback by its actions, "Did that dryad detect me?"

When the four saw the dryad's action, they hesitated to see what it needed to do.

"Fellow cultivator, if you assist me in dealing with these horrible beasts, I will compensate you tremendously. Please, help me!" The aged dryad spoke with the tone of melancholy, its sad voice touching Oris' beast heart.

"Does this dryad want to play games with us?" The lion beast spoke with a frown.

"Young master, it appears that a rat is sneaking around. I can smell it." The wolf beast spoke as it searched for Oris' hiding location.

When Oris realizes he has been discovered, he has no choice but to engage in this situation, but which side should he take?

"Hmph! Are you referring to this divine beast as a rat? Didn't your father ever teach you to treat strangers with respect?" Oris exclaimed arrogantly as he emerged from his hiding location, and he added, "Four guys against one elderly vulnerable tree? Are you not ashamed of yourselves?"

"D-divine beast... it is a unique divine beast." One of the bear beasts reacted with surprise.

"What if it is a divine beast? You are courting death by offending this young master." The lion beast said this while making gestures with his hands.

The lion beast immediately controlled his flying spear, intending to penetrate Oris' neck.

BAM!

Oris reacted quickly, pulling his axe from behind, and smashed the spear aside with it. The spear's flying speed was incredible, but Oris did not pale in comparison.

Oris had a satisfied smug on his face, which ticked off the lion beast the most. "Oh! You can simply block my attack? As expected of a divine beast. What are you three idiots dazed about? Help me kill him!"

Pulling his spear back with the might of his spiritual energy, the lion beast led the assault of killing Oris by pounding him with four spears in succession.

By shooting tentacles and roots at the four beasts, the dryad made it difficult for them to coordinate and disrupted their assault on Oris.

BAM! BAM! BAM!

Oris furrowed his brow in realization as he smashed the flying spears away with his axe, using both physical and spiritual energy.

"Are the people of this world retarded? Using merely the force of spiritual energy to strike with your spear as a flying weapon can never yield the desired results, as long as the opponent is equal to or greater than you in strength. Why don't you just throw your spear with your physical strength and boost it with the force of your spiritual energy? Well, this concludes the free lesson. Allow me to demonstrate," Oris spoke arrogantly as he prepared to throw his axe at the target.

"Nghhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaa!" Orisa roared with force as he threw the axe at the lion beast.

The lion beast, feeling the force and swiftness of the approaching axe, does not have enough time to avoid or fly away. He intercepts the axe with his flying spear while also releasing the life-saving treasure, which surrounds his body with golden light.

BOOM!

The flying spear was broken into two pieces, the superior-grade life-saving treasure was shattered, and the lion beast was split in two in an instant.

"Young master!" The three beasts roared in unison, their faces filled with terror and disbelief.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

Just as the three beasts were still in a frantic daze, the sneak attack of roots and tentacles from dryad tree pierced their throats in unison.

The perpetrator of the first murder was the most shocked. Oris expected to severely wound the beast, but never considered killing him. He had forgotten that the weapon he was wielding was not ordinary. It is a celestial-grade artefact bestowed by the goddess herself.

"I didn't mean to kill him," Oris said as he used his spiritual energy to pull the axe back, but to his surprise, the axe didn't have a single stain of blood on it.

"Master, next time, do not utilize your full strength against opponents in the same realm or lower than you, or they will perish from your one attack." The Divine Mountain Axe nonchalantly explained.

The corpse of the lion beast shone with white light that charged for Oris' glabella. The light was harmless and unavoidable.

"What was that?" Oris asked, frightened. The light had just entered within him.

"Master, that appears to be a trackable treasure. It will stick to the individual who murdered the victim." The Divine Mountain Axe easily explained the situation.

"T-tracking? Who was the person I had just killed? Can the tracking light be removed away from me?" Though it was his first time killing, Oris is unusually quick to adjust to his predicament, but the idea that he is now being tracked frightens him even more.

"WHO DARED TO KILL ONE OF MY SONS WITHIN THE BORDERS OF MY EMPIRE?"

A man's loud voice echoed across the skies, and at the same time, a massive fiery hand came from the sky, charging towards Oris and the dryad tree.

BOOM!

The giant fiery hands collided with a small dagger and dissipated instantly.

"WHO?" The voice of the man reverberated again.

"HMPH! IF YOU DARE TO TOUCH HIM AGAIN, I WILL ELIMINATE YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY!" Another voice reverberated in response to the man's voice, but this time, it was the cold voice of a lady.

"THIS SENIOR, I DON'T KNOW HOW I OFFENDED YOU. THIS BRAT KILLED THE SON OF THIS EMPEROR. ISN'T IT RIGHT FOR ME TO AVENGE MY SON? WHY DID YOU STOP ME?" The man on the other end felt a terrifying aura from the voice, so he responded with caution this time.

Oris and the elderly dryad were stunned by what was going on. They were nearly killed by the horrific fiery hand as big as a mountain a moment ago, and now they hear horrifying voices echoing in the sky. Oris felt like he was listening to two people from different countries arguing from a distance with their powerful voices.

"I WILL SAY THIS FOR THE LAST TIME! IF YOU DARE TOUCH THIS YOUNG BULL, I WILL ERASE YOUR ENTIRE BLOODLINE FROM THE LOWER REALM!" The feminine voice spoke with impatience this time around.

"WHO DARES TO THREATEN MY DESENDANTS?" Another powerful voice of an old man echoed in the sky, shaking the land.

"A-ANCESTOR!?" The voice of the agitated man replied with excitement.

"LITTLE SCHUZUMBA, I WANT TO SEE WHO HAVE THE GUTS TO BULLY YOU IN MY PRESENCE. LITTLE GIRL, DON'T DARE INTERFERE WITH THE BUSINESS OF MY DALMADA EMPIRE."

"OH! A LITTLE UNDYING BODY STAGE EXPERT WANT TO BULLY MY SERVANT? I'VE LONG HEARD OF THE ARROGANCE OF BUGS IN THE LOWER REALM. I WANT TO SEE WHAT YOU'RE CAPABLE OF." This time, the voice that replied was calm and playful, and it came straight from the upper realm.

"THIS... THIS... W-WHAT? T-THIS JUNIOR HAD EYES BUT DID NOT SEE! PLEASE, I WILL TEACH THIS B*STARD, LITTLE SCHUZUMBA, A LESSON FOR OFFENDING THE HEAVENS. PLEASE, SINIOR, BE MAGNANIMOUS." The horrified ancestor of the Empire of Dalmada yelled out in panic.

"ANCESTOR... THIS..."

"SHUT UP, OR I WILL ABANDON THIS EMPIRE AND YOUR STINKING BLOODLINE." The panic-stricken ancestor quickly rebuked.

"SIGH! LITTLE SHAR, I WILL NOT INTERFERE WITH THE MATTERS OF THE LOWER REALM AGAIN. MY PLAN MIGHT BE EXPOSED TO MY RIVALS IF I AM NOT CAREFUL ENOUGH. THIS TIME, I MADE SURE THIS CONFLICT DIDN'T SPREAD OUT. CONTINUE WITH THE TASK I SENT YOU TO THE LOWER REALM TO DO."

"Y-YES... MY LADY!" The replying voice of the lady seemed to be in shock. At the same time, Oris was shocked to hear this familiar voice as well.
