"Boom!~"
A massive, invisible wave of energy pulsed outward. The two enormous beasts immediately froze, their eyes glazed over with confusion.
Luffy could feel it—his Conqueror's Haki had worked. And sure enough…
In the next moment, both beasts began to foam at the mouth, their eyes rolling back.
Thud!
The slightly weaker of the two toppled first.
Thud!
The other soon followed.
In an instant, Luffy had rendered both unconscious.
"Ha ha ha ha ha!" Luffy laughed triumphantly. The feeling was beyond words, but…
No matter how he looked at it, knocking out two massive beasts in one go was an incredible rush.
---
Rayleigh's eyes widened. He could sense the power of Luffy's Haki, even from this distance.
On one hand, Luffy's Conqueror's Haki was truly fearsome. On the other…
Rayleigh, as anyone who knew him would understand, could not overlook such a potent display of Haki.
"Luffy!"
"I knew I wasn't wrong about you!" Rayleigh nodded, clearly proud.
Not long ago, at the end of the war, Luffy's Haki was nowhere near this powerful. Yet after only a brief period of training, his Conqueror's Haki had multiplied several times over.
Yes, several times over.
While going from a power level of twenty to fifty wasn't exactly a dramatic leap, the system's enhancements had granted Luffy's Haki unprecedented attributes and force.
Rayleigh felt his heart race, watching Luffy's Haki exceed his expectations.
"Luffy!" he murmured with admiration. "Onward to the peak!"
In that moment, Rayleigh was overcome with emotion, almost as if he were looking into the distant past.
"Roger!" he whispered.
From Luffy's strength, he could sense the spirit of his old friend. Perhaps, just perhaps…
Luffy's power might even surpass Roger's one day.
A wave of happiness swept over Rayleigh.
---
Luffy clapped his hands, glancing at the two beasts sprawled on the ground. It would be a while before they woke up.
"Eat them?" he muttered, curious.
It was strange; he normally didn't have a craving for such huge creatures.
He wasn't the real Luffy, after all.
But somehow, the idea of eating them appealed to him at that moment. Perhaps his inherited body held remnants of the old Luffy's preferences.
Drool trickled from his mouth. He might not have his full strength back, but taking down two unconscious beasts was no issue.
Pulling out a machete, he approached the downed creatures. The machete was something the Empress had left behind after cooking for him recently.
Worth noting, the Empress would occasionally stop by to cook for Luffy, looking after him. Based on his memories, Luffy knew she was a world-class beauty.
Of course, he'd need to see her in person to fully appreciate her charms, as the mental image he held was mostly fragmented memories.
Crack!
Luffy sliced off a hefty chunk of meat, feeling utterly satisfied.
Ah, life was good.
