Under the cover of darkness, she slipped silently through the vents, eyes scanning for guards below. Her heart raced as she carefully lowered herself into the secured room. This was her only shot to retrieve the evidence before they realized she was inside.
"Gosh!" She almost got cut when her phone rang. She quickly tossed her hand into her bag, took out the phone, and ensured it was muffled.
"Maya, you have to wait; this is total wrong timing!" She whispered while trying to maintain a good hiding position.
"Do you sense something?" Lexis asked suspiciously, looking around.
"No," Damon shrugged, relaxing. "Why do you ask?"
"Nothing. It's just that I'm sensing the presence of a someone close by. I have this nervous feeling that someone is watching us!" Lexis said worriedly.
"That can't be possible; this is a new place, and very few people know about this building." Damon responded confidently.
