Damon descended from the third floor to the second floor.
He strode towards the public convenience. He didn't even know what took him there. He was not feeling pressured or had any need to use the convenience. onfused and eminently downtrodden, he ascended back to his office on the third floor.
"You should have known better than this, Damon! You've longed for this divorce to come, but certainly not in this way! You have to do something, Damon; you just have to do something! You cannot hand over the company to her just like that!" He scolded himself as he paced back and forth in the tiny space in his office.
Putting his head down and scrubbing his hairs with his hands, the door flung open.
"And what are you still doing here? Sorry, don't get me wrong, I mean, why are you looking worried as if this was not what you've been hoping for?" Sabrina asked annoyingly.
"Sabrina," he said softly. "Please, I beg you in the name of all you hold dear to gently carry yourself out of this office before I'll be forced to bundle you out by myself!" He declared with a surge of frustration and anger in him.
Sabrina remained adamant and must accomplish her mission of coming to that office before she'll leave.
"I'm not going anywhere! Damon. Just take a look at my dress. Today of all days that I decide to wear this expensive dress is the day your stupid wife would decide to embarrass me publicly."
"Well, that's by the way."
She bent and supported herself with her two palms on his table and whispered to his ears, "Just a quick reminder. Ensure you get me another diamond ring before you'll finally pack your things out of this office, because that is the only compensation for my dress that has been spoiled. Or else, you have me to contend with!"
With fury clearly evident in his eyes, which had suddenly turned red, he grabbed her tightly by the wrist and warned, "Sabrina, I just lost my job and marriage because of your nonsense attitude; don't push me to the wall more than this, because you'll not like the outcome!" He said it softly with scary eyes and a menacing tone.
Even though his act of cheating was deliberate so that he could get a divorce, his intention was to ensure that he would render her bankrupt before that would happen.
Now, how would he face Maya at home? To worsen his frustration, all the funds he had been syphoning from the company were invested in his mistress.

"Go back to wherever you are coming from! I only want to see you here when you're ready to get your stuff out of this house!" Maya yelled from inside when she was tranced out of her sober moments by a persistent knock on the door.
"Maya, it's me, your sister!" A tiny feminine voice echoed.
"Isabella?" Lexis called out softly but loud enough for someone at the door to hear her out.
"Please, hold on. I'm coming." She said calmly with her voice devoid of frustration and instantly ran into the bathroom to wash her face.
"Be strong, Lexis. You don't have to let that young girl out there know that you're depressed. She practically draws her strength from you, so you must not let her down." She scolded herself when she looked at her blurry eyes in the wall mirror, which had been heavy from crying, as she tries to manage wearing a faint smile before she'll appear before Isabella.
"Hey, Isabella, welcome!" She said she opened her hands to embrace her sister in a hug.
"You never told me you were coming," she queried softly.
"Sorry, I was lonely at home, so I decided to pay my sister a surprise visit." Isabella explained gently.
Maya smirked. Forcing a faint smile on her face to show that she was overwhelmed by the visit.
But the phrase 'surprise visit' got her mood to change.
She immediately remembered that the condition she was in at that moment was caused by a surprise visit. Her countenance began to change gradually as she recalled the moment her husband's secretary' walked in with her mini skirt and a V-neck shirt, exposing part of her boobs.
"Big sis, are you okay at all? You look pale, and your voice." Isabella paused.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Lexis answered wittily.
"Sis, you're not fine, I insist!" Isabella was not convinced by her response.
"What about Damon? It's been a while since I last saw him," Isabella added.
She could sense that something was wrong, but she can't picture clearly what it is.
"Probably business," she guessed inwardly. But she was certain it could never be a family problem. It was known by all their family that Maya was the luckiest lady among them all, marrying an angel in the form of a man.
"Do you care for a drink?" Maya tried to shy away from her kid sister's incessant questions by changing the conversation.
While trying to keep her heartbreak hidden, her phone began to ring persistently.
"Excuse me, Isabella." Maya said and quickly headed to the room.
"Damon, you can come to this house only when I've obtained the signed papers from my lawyer, or when you decide to bring it by yourself!" She declared softly to the person on the other end of the phone and hung up the call immediately, without waiting to get even a 'hello' from the caller, ruffling her hand through her hair
"What a fuck! What am I hearing?" Isabella questioned inwardly while she still thought of a better approach to use. She had followed her, not prepared for what she just heard.
Isabella took a heavy breath with her mouth wide open in disbelief.
"Damon, I said..." Maya tried to yell when the next call came in but paused when she heard a different voice.
"Maya!" The feminine voice came out shrilled on the other side of the phone.
Maya got startled and took down her phone from her ears, only to realise that it wasn't Damon's number.
"Maya, what is happening?" The person on the other end of the phone asked calmly.
Already exposed and seeing no way to hide her condition anymore, Maya burst out into a soft sob.
"Lexis, I'm divorced! I'm divorced!! The bastard just cheated on me!" Maya lamented over the phone.
Lexis Sinclair had been Maya's loyal and best friend for decades. She's probably the only one Alexis feels comfortable sharing life challenges with.
"Perfect plan!" Lexis said to herself and smiled.
"Oh no!" Maya exclaimed, sounding deeply sorry for her friend.
"I'll be at your house right away, Maya." She said over the phone.
