Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The lucky encounter

That night as Elias looked at the moon a thought came to his mind;

"Its time to test my best project" he said.

In the very heart of the slums in the town of Silverfall Grove in the the western kingdom of Eldoria , where hope was as rare as the cleanest water and shadows swallowed every dream alive, two siblings age 10 and 6 years respectively, Leon and his sister Kyle huddled together in the chilly night, their breathing shallow and their spirits all but doused. For a change, the night was uncommonly still, as if even the world held its breath for what was about to unfold.

Suddenly, through that stillness, under the watchful gaze of a full moon, a silhouette in black descended from the sky. Svelte, his body seemed to defy gravity, like it was being held from an invisible string. His all-black outfit was uncommonly chic and glowed with bits of moonlight, further adding to his mystery and power. The shadows running behind him were long and dramatic, almost otherworldly in their aspect-as if he had stepped right out of the pages of some noir novel.

Leon's eyes, wide with a mix of awe and fear, leaned in and whispered to his sister,

"there's someone here."

Before them now, with grace, landed Elias Hawke, the man who had yet to earn the title of "The Demon of Science." His keen eyes looked around the desolate surroundings, finally coming to rest on the frail forms of Leon and his sister. He knelt down, awesome and reassuring at one and the same time, and spoke with a voice which could speak volumes of secrets.

"You both have potential," Elias whispered,

his eyes locking onto Leon's.

"A potential that the world has yet to see. Come with me, and I will show you a path which you never dreamed possible."

With that, Elias extended his hand, a saving grace from their desolate fate. Leon and his sister, sensing power and conviction in this mysterious figure, clasped his hand and stepped into a future that would forever change the course of their lives.

He stood in his secluded mountain lab, the dim light of flickering mana stones casting eerie shadows upon the walls. In front of him lay , Leon who possessed an uncanny affinity with mana. The boy was the perfect candidate for his next experiment.

Elias carefully prepared the nano machines, each one powered by a microscopic mana stone and enchanted with a spell that would siphon mana from the host when their power waned. The intricate web of machines in the syringe like tube in his left hand shone with an otherworldly ghost light as he turned them on.

"Leon," Elias said

 in a chilled, authoritative tone,

"this is something else, something beyond what you could have ever dreamed of. Rest assured, though, your potential will be magnified beyond your wildest imagination."

Leon nodded, his eyes fearful wondering what was going to happen next . He trusted Elias, regardless not knowing him, but one thing he was sure was that this crazy man who plucked him out of obscurity was his ticket towards greatness.

"MWAHAHAHAHAHHA" laughed Elias

"its time".
