"Young Master!"
"Young Master, they told, you summoned me!"
Not long after the two young men left the guest room, two figures entered a spacious room almost simultaneously. One was bald, and the other carried a sword at his waist. Both looked like servants. They spoke in unison to the two young men inside the room—none other than Han Fei and Lee Zhong, who were resting in Lee Zhong's room.
"Finally, you're here. We were about to grow roots while waiting!" Lee Zhong spoke impatiently, directing his gaze at the servant with the sword at his waist.
"Hmm... Hmm." Han Fei nodded in agreement, his gaze shifting to the bald servant. He added calmly, "Listen to brother Lee Zhong carefully. He will tell you what needs to be done."
"Yes, Young Master!" the bald servant replied, as if to confirm that he understood.
As the bald servant turned his attention to Lee Zhong, Lee Zhong spoke in a commanding tone, "Listen carefully—I will only explain this once. I expect everything to be carried out without a hitch!"
"First, the two of you need to deliver a message to our brothers. Tell them to head to the city immediately if anything unusual happens."
Noticing the confused expressions on the servants' faces, Lee Zhong added, "I know you have questions, but now is not the time. You'll understand soon enough."
Han Fei, who had been sitting quietly until now, reached out to pick up two letters—one in front of himself and the other before Lee Zhong. Handing them to the servants, he said in a cold tone, "After delivering our message, hand these letters to our brothers whose names are written on them. These letters are important."
"Understood, Young Master!" The two servants took the letters, but as they turned to leave, Lee Zhong's voice thundered behind them, "Where do you think you're going?"
"Indeed. We're not finished yet," Han Fei added, his cold gaze fixed on the startled servants.
The servants froze in their tracks, turning back with embarrassed expressions. "Forgive me, Young Master," they said in unison, bowing slightly.
"Never mind. Just listen until the end. Time is short, so I'll be quick," Lee Zhong said, brushing off their mistake. He continued with urgency, "After delivering our message and handing over the letters, you need to return here and inform us. Once you've reported back, your next task is to find four sturdy horses and tie them up in the Lu family's garden on the southwestern side of town."
Hearing this, the servants exchanged puzzled glances as if to say, 'But why? What does that have to do with anything?'
Noticing their confusion, Lee Zhong scowled, "If you have questions, ask them now. This is the second and most critical part of your task."
Seizing the opportunity, the bald servant asked eagerly, "Young Master Lee Zhong, do you mean the Lu family that perished during that exploration two years ago?"
Lee Zhong was about to respond when Han Fei cut in, "Yes, precisely. Their house must be in ruins by now."
The other servant, the one with the sword, looked at Lee Zhong with a serious expression. "Young Master, should these horses be ordinary, or do they need to be Earth-Horses?"
Lee Zhong shouted with anger. "Are you stupid, or are you trying to make a fool of me in front of brother Han Fei?!"
Terrified by his master's outburst, the servant stammered, "No, Young Master! I only asked to ensure there's no mistake. I mean If we tie up ordinary horses and it becomes an issue, what should we do then?"
"Ahh... You're deliberately testing my patience, aren't you?!" Lee Zhong roared, his anger flaring. "All you need to do is find Earth-Horses and tie them up. I don't care where you get them or how!"
Seeing Lee Zhong's growing frustration, Han Fei interjected, "When you take the horses to the Lu family's house, make sure to tie them somewhere out of sight. Handle it quietly, so no one notices."
Turning to Lee Zhong, Han Fei noticed his companion was still angry. He decided to take over. "I'll explain the third task," Han Fei said.
"You need to arrange for a sturdy horse carriage, pulled by four Earth-Horses. It must be ready within an hour," he instructed, ignoring the servants' shocked expressions as if to say, 'Again?'
As Han Fei raised an eyebrow, clearly expecting an answer, Lee Zhong's cold, stern gaze bore into the servants.
After allowing the servants a brief silence, Han Fei broke it with a question. "Do you have any other questions?"
The two servants exchanged a quick glance before the bald one scratched his head nervously and asked, "Young Master, we'll have the carriage ready in an hour, but how much time do we have to tie the horses at the Lu family's house? Finding eight Earth-Horses at once will be difficult, even for us..."
Han Fei turned to Lee Zhong, silently waiting his input. After a moment's thought, Lee Zhong answered firmly, "The horses must be tied up at the Lu family's house by midnight—right when the commotion starts. No mistakes will be tolerated."
"..."
The room fell silent for a moment before Han Fei clapped his hands twice to grab their attention. "What are you standing around for? Don't forget to take the badge! Go!"
Bowing slightly, the two servants quickly turned and ran out of the room after taking their master's badges from the table.
As the servants left, Lee Zhong let out a deep sigh, "brother Han Fei, do you think those two fools will manage to pull this off?"
"Don't worry. They'll get it done. Even if they fail, they'll return after delivering the message, and we'll remind them of the second task. None of this is a problem," Han Fei replied with a weary sigh of his own.
"Hahaha!" Lee Zhong chuckled briefly, glancing at Han Fei. "Brother Han Fei, I guess I've been too impatient these days. I get angry so quickly. But you're right—what's the harm in explaining it again if necessary, eh?"
Seeing Lee Zhong's smile, Han Fei returned a faint one of his own. "Not at all, brother Lee Zhong. I think it's just the weight of the responsibilities we're carrying that makes us this way."
After a brief pause, Han Fei sighed again, "anyway, let's hope they find the Earth-Horses without any trouble."
