Chapter 13: Cannonfire and Fury
The minor demons descended upon human lines, met by Ragtags' fierce resistance. Gary's crossbow and Nadia's shortbow picked off stragglers; Ava healed the wounded soldiers. Elian coordinated the defenses.
Cannons boomed, shredding demon ranks. The Ragtags seized the momentum and charged into the ranks of minor demons
While they were busy dealing with the minor demons a spear like object logged into the cannon and destroyed it.
The Demon Captains Vorgath and Xarath targeted the cannons, destroying artillery with their infernal powers.
The right flank faltered under constant minor demon attacks. The Central guards wavered and were about to be breached.
The left flank which stabilized, plunged into chaos.
The demon captain Vorgath landed in front of Gary and directly pierced his heart, Gary unable to react just stared into the demons eyes and fell to the ground, while his body was burning Vorgath feasted on his heart
Elian filled with rage charged at the Vorgath but suddenly the earth cracked and Elian fell into the pit, ava fell on the ground and sobbed.
Nadia came near ava and protected her from the minor demons, mark shot an arrow at Vorgath but was stopped by Xarath,
Well human it's your turn to die Xarath said in a malicious manner,
Xarath walked slowly towards Mark who was stunned in his spot and when xarath reached him he said human pup you have a very special gift join us and ascend the Tower we will give you unlimited power and gifts.
Mark who feared for his life almost in a hypnotized manner agreed and joined the demon faction of Envy.
Soon the demise of the ragtags spread in the army and the Morale plummeted
City Lord Vikram know for his glave skills(Glave master vikram), donned his armor. Commander Orion joined him.
Vikram charged forward into the battle his glave slicing through demons. "This war ends now he declared!"
With one stroke, Vikram beheaded the Demon Captain Vorgath and few other Captains.
Commander Orion annihilated the minor demons along with the support of their royal knights and few other soldiers.
Many soldiers shouted in unison

The Major demons sax and rex seeing their soldiers getting slaughtered became enraged and converged on lord Vikram.
"Your city will burn," they snarled.
Vikram stood firm and pushed them back, Orion came to his side. "We'll defend our city, to the last breath."
Sax yelled "you humans should kneel before our lord and submit to him as his servants, or else you will face his Wrath."
The battle reached its climax.
All the soldier along with the remanants of the ragtags retreated back into the city and watched the upcoming battle from the top of the city walls.
Mark already on his way to fort Hellmouth did not look back and joined the demons.
Elian woke up in a dark pit where no light could reach and heard a voice.
