"Oh hey!" Emily shouted up at the four fairies in the sky. "Hey Lily! Hey Iris! It's been a while! How's Titus!?"
"It's that one, there." said Iris, pointing. "She is the elf queen."
Two fairies flew down and picked up Sera by her wrists and carried her into the sky. Sera's guards tried to grab Sera, but they were too late, and Sera yelped a few times in the process.
The other two fairies grabbed Sera by her ankles, and the fairies flew off with her, completely ignoring everyone else.
Sera's guards both shouted at the fairies to try to stop them.
Emily dropped her head and let out a long sigh. "Not even a 'hello'. . . do they hate me?"
"It seemed like they were in a hurry." said Enna
Sera's guards were stunned by the situation and Emily and Enna's reaction made it even more surreal.
"What are you doing!?" screamed Sera. "Where are you taking me!?"
"Stop struggling, you'll die if you fall," said Tulip.
Sera tried to calm herself, and stopped moving.
"Ah, did King Titus send you to retrieve me?" asked Sera, coming to the only plausible explanation.
"Yeah, he said to get you." said Lily
Sera let out a sigh of relief.
Sera arrived at the elf village gate completely frazzled, and she fell to her knees when the fairies put her down. Sera patted the ground, deliberately, then stood up. Once again, the gate guards were bewildered, but they opened the gate immediately and welcomed their queen's return.
The four fairies casually strolled inside and Sera followed behind them once she regained her bearings. A couple of guards followed her, and some elves approached Sera with concerned looks.
"Queen Sera, are you okay?" said one of the elves
"Yes, I'm quite alright, thank you." said Sera "Being carried through the air by the fairies was a very thrilling experience."
"Is it true you crowned that human our king?" asked another elf.
"Yes, it's true, but I don't believe King Titus is human. He may be a fairy."
That elicited some significant surprise from the crowd.
"Is it true that he is also the king of the fairies and the amazons?"
"I'm certain that he is the king of the amazons, and it appears he now commands the fairies as well."
The crowd of elves was awed.
"Our new king is truly incredible." continued Sera.
Sera continued toward the palace. Once inside, she asked a guard to take her to Titus, and arrived at his door.
In my quest for relaxation, I ended up practicing magic perception. I guess I accidentally achieved some altered mental state that allowed me to sense magic better, and I quickly became familiar with that new ability.
Apparently, all living things have some perceptible amount of magic within. And, I can sense the magic through walls and solid objects. I have to wonder if this is what it feels like to be born deaf and get a cochlear implant to hear for the first time.
A whole new world opened up to me with this new sense. So, I could tell that someone arrived at my door before she knocked.
