As Rikka said that, there was a moment of silence as everyone stared at Rikka.
This girl actually took the dialogue I was supposed to say, but what can I do? I'm not the protagonist who's going to get the spotlight all the time anyway.
As the silence lasted Nibutani smiled and nodded at Rikka, I thought this girl would agree to Rikka's proposal.
"That's a good idea, Rikka-chan," she said in an optimistic tone.
"If we can win the sports week, we might be able to prove the value of this club to the student council." She continued with a hint of enthusiasm.
But Rissa who had always seemed annoyed from the start, seemed to consider her older sister's proposal well.
"Sports week? I think this club is more suited to dealing with mystical matters and napping than physical activities."
That was pretty good sarcasm, after all among all the people present here there was no one who was convincing enough in terms of physical activities such as sports.
Of course if I exclude myself, after all with the pure physical strength I currently possess, I can even win easily against ten people in a tug of war.
After all, I am currently a Spirit, a species that is completely different from humans.
Thinking of this, a small smile formed at the corner of my lips, if only this club was really serious about facing the sports week, I think it would be fine if I took a few days to train with them.
After all, if the student council sees how the troubled kids in this strange club develop and manage to achieve at least some achievements, maybe this will give the student council a reason to keep this club.
However, when I look at the faces of the other members, I know this might be a little difficult, I'll leave aside Rikka and Nibutani who seem very enthusiastic, but when I look at how Rissa is expressing I know there's scepticism in her, while Kumin-senpai himself...well, she looks like she's going to sleep anytime.
"So, who agreed to participate in this sports week?" Nibutani asked while glancing around.
Although she seemed to be glancing at everyone, I knew that her gaze was directed specifically at Rissa, if it was Rikka maybe she wouldn't know it, but how could Rissa be as stupid as Rikka.
"What's with that look of yours? I'll go along, okay! After all, this might be the only way to save the club, after all it was proposed by my stupid older sister" Rissa said calmly but there was a hint of annoyance in her voice.
While Dekomori was still as usual, she was waving her arms vigorously.
"Master don't forget me, I'm coming! Since we're going to destroy the enemy together, I'm definitely not going to miss out" she said with a bit too much enthusiasm, I'm even sure that she would consider this sports week as a battle of life and death.
"What about the others?" Nibutani asked the remaining people.
"I'll come" Yuuta agreed without much resistance.
"I think, I'll go, after all this might be my first contribution to the club" I agreed without much trouble like Yuuta, after all this might be a good chance to become popular.
After all, I heard that boys who are good at sports are quite popular among girls, I'm quite curious how it feels to be popular among girls.
"Isn't there going to be a nap?" Kumin-senpai seemed to be complaining, after all he was too sleepy to exercise.
"No, there won't be any sleeping during the event, but you can sleep when it's all over" Nibutani answered Kumin's complaint.
"I won't have any problems as long as I can sleep" Well, it seems that Kumin Senpai will be forcibly included.
Even if Kumin-senpai did not want to participate in this sports week, Nibutani would definitely register her to participate no matter what.
"In that case, everyone has agreed and with this the basic training plan for the sports week will begin!"
When Nibutani said that, everyone present applauded including me.
Sports week, perhaps for others this is the place to showcase their abilities as the best in sports, but unfortunately I have to apologise to them as I will be showing a little of my abilities as a Spirit.
Fufu~ the thought of how I'm going to achieve a landslide victory without any flaws makes me can't wait for this sports week, I think I'm going to be popular soon.
"Alright, we'll start training tomorrow after school. Please be on time!" Nibutani stated firmly. She really seemed like a leader here, despite not being the club president.
"Lux-sama, let's fight together" Rikka grabbed my hand as she looked at me gently. Somehow Rikka's smile warmed my heart.
This girl, she really is very different from the anime she came from, I suspect if I unintentionally affected her overall nature in the past.
"Don't worry, I'll definitely do my best during sports week!" I said with a friendly smile, perhaps I was trying out the bright smile of the Beta harem protagonist.
"Hm" Rikka nodded as she looked at me with a smile.
"Damn!"
Well, where there is light there is darkness, even if Rikka showed a beautiful smile and looked like a cute girl in front of me, Rissa could only grit her teeth in annoyance as she looked at us.
I think I will try to make more beautiful moments with Rikka just to see that irritated expression again.
Meanwhile, Dekomori nodded her head confidently. "Master! Don't forget about me! I will definitely show them Dekomori's true power!" she said excitedly.
Yuuta who had only been an observer since the beginning sighed while folding his arms, he looked at the girls with worry.
"I don't know why I feel like this will only end up with weird things, but at least it can save the club," Yuuta muttered with a slight sigh in his voice.
I understand yuuta's worry, after all, what can be expected from a group of troubled kids? Wait! I'm in that group of troubled kids too!
.....
I'm currently standing in front of the courtyard of a rather secluded convenience store near my house, even though this place is in the centre of the city but somehow it's quite deserted.
Despite all that, this convenience store has remained standing for more than ten years.
I wouldn't be surprised if this place is under the auspices of the Raktatos, after all in the anime it was shown that most of the town or buildings in this town are completely under their control just to organise the best date for Shido and the Spirits.
Wait, then shouldn't almost everything in the city of Tenguu be made specifically to appease us spirits?
Well, thinking about how almost all of the city was custom-made for me or at least that's how it seems to me, I feel a little weird about this.
But whatever happened to the internal affairs of the ratatoskr it had nothing to do with me.
I slowly walked into the convenience store, I hope the part-time job vacancies they posted are still valid.
As I stepped inside I could feel the cool air from the air-conditioning contrasting with the hot air outside, as if welcoming anyone who stepped inside.
The neon lights on the ceiling illuminate the neatly arranged shelves, displaying goods that seem ready to wait for shoppers to arrive despite the fact that rarely anyone stops by.
I'm not going to pass too much judgement on how this convenience store does its marketing and advertising, after all I'm only here for a temporary part-time job that I'll replace in the future if I find a much better job.
It won't matter to me if this convenience store goes bankrupt in the near future.
"Welcome" The voice of the employee who greeted me rang out, I turned my head towards her.
Behind the counter, I could see a beautiful female employee with brown hair, she was wearing a dark green uniform that matched the colour of her eyes, she looked quite beautiful where the charm of a child and a mature woman were still one in the same.
Wait! I feel like I've seen this girl, isn't this girl Nanami Aoyama-san, my classmate? Does she also work here?
I thought she was taking a course as a Voice Actor, but why is she here as a convenience store cashier?
"Eh? Tonomachi-kun?" Aoyama looked at me with a hint of surprise in her eyes, but then tried to smile professionally.
That's a pretty good attitude control, especially now that she's working.
"Hello, Aoyama-san" I greeted Aoyama with a friendly smile.
I walked up to her, seeing that this girl was quite suitable with the uniform she was wearing. But I'm not going to say this directly, after all even if we are classmates, Aoyama and I are not very close, you could say our relationship is more like an acquaintance than a friend.
"Can I help you, Tonomachi-kun?" Aoyama asked politely, it seems that the culture of hard work is ingrained even into the children in this country.
It's not that I have a problem with it, after all I was born and raised in this country, although I still have a slight sense of existence with other places because of that strange dream, but it doesn't take away my love for this land of my birth.
"Actually I saw the post about the part-time job vacancy posted in front, I thought I'd try applying" I said with a hint of shyness.
Come on me, don't be shy or afraid of small things like this, after all this is my first step to becoming much better.
I silently encouraged myself.
Aoyama looked at me for a moment, then she smiled before nodding. "Hm, we are indeed looking for another part-time worker here, I think I can help you to talk to the manager if you want"
I nodded with gratitude to Aoyama.
"That would be very helpful, Aoyama-san. Thank you very much."
"In that case, just a moment I'll call the manager" Aoyama said calmly before he stepped towards the small room behind the cashier.
As I watched Aoyama leave I looked around quietly, if I looked further it seemed that there was only Aoyama here, shouldn't there be other people?
Perhaps they were taking a break?
After a while, Aoyama came out of the small room with a middle-aged woman. She was wearing the same uniform with a friendly smile on her face.
"Welcome. So you're interested in working here?" The middle-aged woman asked me.
I nodded in agreement.
"Yes, I'm Tonomachi. I'd like to try applying for a part-time job here."
"Are you sure Tonomachi-kun? After all, the salary I'm going to give you isn't that much compared to other places" she asked me.
"I don't have a problem with that" anyway this place is close to my house so it would be a good move if I work here.
"If you agree to work here, I think you can start working from tomorrow, we need extra manpower that can work especially during peak hours in the afternoon and evening, but don't worry we will give you overtime pay if that happens, so does this schedule suit you?"
Hearing this, I thought for a moment. The afternoons and evenings might be a little tiring especially when I have to attend club activities, but it seemed like there would be no problem. After all, I was sure I could still make time for the club and other things.
"Yes, I guess that's fine," I replied.
"Good," the manager replied with a satisfied smile. "In that case, we'll give you some basic training and explain our working system. And thanks to your interest in working here, Aoyama-san can you mentor Tonomachi-kun starting tomorrow?"
"Sure, I don't mind at all, after all working with others is better than working alone" Aoyama agreed without much thought.
"Then I wish you all the best, Tonomachi-kun" Saying that, the manager left leaving me and Aoyama alone.
After the manager left, I felt the atmosphere a little more relaxed, Aoyama looked at me with a small smile on her face, but it made me feel a little awkward.
"Well then, welcome aboard, Tonomachi-kun," she said in a rather light tone.
"Tomorrow I'll show you how things work here, don't worry. It may seem complicated at first, but you'll get used to it eventually."
"Thank you, Aoyama-san. I'll trouble you," I replied while scratching the back of my head, a little nervous.
Aoyama giggled. "No need to be so formal. After all, we're classmates, right?"
Well, even if we are classmates we are really close to each other.
I chuckled, trying to get rid of the awkwardness. "That's right. Thank you for your help, Aoyama-san"
She nodded, then looked at me with a curious gaze. "So, why did you decide to work part-time here? I heard from Shido that you've been interested in club activities lately."
Shido and his bucket mouth, I thought he was someone who could keep a secret but it turns out he likes to gossip behind my back.
"No problem, I'm short of money these days anyway" I said.
I'm actually not short of money, but if I calculate future expenses by taking into account Tohka and other Spirits in the future, I will definitely be short of money.
After all, I'm not a shido whose finances are supported by Ratatoskr.
Aoyama nodded as if he understood.
To be honest, Aoyama seemed warmer than I had imagined.
"By the way," I said, trying to continue the conversation.
"I heard that you're interested in becoming a voice actor, right? If you become famous in the future, don't forget to give me your autograph, okay!"
Hearing my words, Aoyama chuckled, her face flushing slightly. "I'm still far from it, but thank you. I want to try to achieve my dreams, even if it's hard."
"Good luck, Aoyama," I said sincerely.
"I also hope you succeed in this part-time job, Tonomachi-kun," she said with a smile.
After that, I nodded lightly before turning back and leaving the convenience store.
