Chapter 5 - preparation.

As the night wore on the mongol camp, Alinaq and Bardul retired to the privacy of their own tent, the two Mongol commanders pouring over the latest intelligence reports. Bardul's massive frame loomed over the map, his thick fingers tracing the terrain. "This Se La is a cunning one, I'll give her that.

But her pathetic army is no match for the might of the Mongols." Alinaq, his pale eyes narrowed in concentration, nodded slowly. "Yes, yes, the dark witch's forces are weak, but we cannot underestimate her. Her reputation for brutality and tactical genius is well-earned."

Bardul let out a derisive snort, the ground trembling beneath his feet. "Bah, what does a does a mere woman know of true warfare? I shall crush her army with my bare hands and present her severed head to the Khan!" The shaman leader raised a hand, silencing his companion's boasts. "Patience, Bardul. We must approach this battle with caution. Se La's mastery of dark elemental magic poses a grave threat to our forces."

Alinaq's brow furrowed as he studied the map, his fingers tracing the positions of the Solarice troops. If we commit fully to offense it will lead to holes from where the insects may crawl. I have already found the pathways which were being used for ambushes. Bardul's thick brows knitted together in a scowl. "Then what do you propose, Alinaq? I grow weary of your hesitation. We should simply charge in and crush them beneath our hooves!"

The shaman leader raised a hand, his pale eyes gleaming with a hint of insight. "No, Bardul, that would be playing right into Se La's hands. We must adapt our tactics to counter her strengths." Alinaq's expression grew contemplative as he continued, "The key lies in our shamans.

If we can bolster our cavalry with their protective wards and long-range spells, we may be able to overwhelm her forces despite her magical prowess." They will target you as the weak link.

Bardul's lips curled into a savage grin, his massive frame radiating a sense of anticipation. "Ah, yes, I see your plan now, Alinaq. Let the shamans weave their enchantments, and I shall lead the charge, smashing through her pathetic defenses!"it's not the first time my enemies have underestimated me.

The two commanders exchanged a resolute nod, their eyes burning with the thirst for victory. As the night wore on, they finalized their strategy, determined to crush the Solarice forces and bring the head of the dark witch to their Khan.

As the inky darkness of night blanketed the Solarice encampment, Se La retired to the privacy of her quarters, summoning her trusted assassination unit. The pungent aroma of burning ganja filled the air as she reclined on a plush divan, taking a long, contemplative drag from her ornate pipe.

"Well, my loyal dogs," she said, exhaling a cloud of fragrant smoke, "what have you uncovered about our Mongol friends?"

Xu Na, the group's leader and a skilled wind cultivator, stepped forward, her expression grave. "My lady, we have finished our reconnaissance, though we were unable to gather much concrete intelligence. However, wewere able to deduce certain...personality traits about our foes."

Se La raised a brow, her golden eyes gleaming with interest. "Speak, then. Who is the fool we can trap, and who should we avoid?"

Xu Na's lips curled into a sardonic smile. "Bardul, the burly earth cultivator, is undoubtedly the fool we seek. His arrogance and thirst for battle know no bounds." Her expression darkened. "But after a week spent in his company, I can confirm he is a force to be reckoned with."

Se La hummed contemplatively, taking another drag from her pipe. "And what of Alinaq, the shaman leader?"

Ah, him," Xu Na replied, her brow furrowing. "He may appear the simpleton, but reaching him will be no easy task. His senses are heightened during battle, and he is surrounded by a legion of shamans."

With a dismissive wave of her hand, Se La signaled the end of the briefing. "I see. You may go, then. I have matters to attend to."

As the assassins filed out, Se La stretched her lithe frame, a mischievous smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "I guess it's time," she murmured, her gaze fixed on the flickering shadows beyond her tent.

Across the camp, Feng Lai and Jiro stood side by side, their expressions grim as they pored over the latest intelligence reports delivered by Se La's spies.

"Bardul and Alinaq, huh?" Feng Lai murmured, his fingers drumming against the hilt of his sword. "This could work to our advantage, but we'll need to be meticulous in our planning."

Jiro's deep voice rumbled like distant thunder. "Indeed. Bardul's raw power and Alinaq's shamans are a formidable combination, but their overconfidence and lack of coordination could be their downfall."

The two seasoned commanders bent over the map, tracing the terrain and the positions of the Mongol forces. "Bardul will undoubtedly lead the main assault, using his earth cultivation to shatter our defenses," Feng Lai said, his brow furrowed in concentration. "But if we can lure him into a carefully prepared killzone, we may be able to neutralize his advantage."

Jiro nodded, his expression thoughtful. "And Alinaq's shamans will be crucial in supporting the Mongol cavalry. We'll need to disrupt their long-range spells and deny them the ability to bolster their forces."

"Precisely," Feng Lai replied, his eyes gleaming with strategic insight. "I propose we position our archers and wind cultivators along the ridges overlooking the main battlefield. Their arrows and gusts of wind can rain down devastation upon the Mongol ranks, forcing Alinaq's shamans to focus on defense rather than offense."

SE LA then says something which leaves the commanders confused.

But I will handle Bardul myself. You two focus on the shamans and the cavalry."

Feng says my leige how are you going to do it you can't just waltz through the mongols.

"A lady doesn't reveal her secrets," she said, a mischievous smile playing on her lips.

Feng Lai and Jiro exchanged a bewildered look, but before they could voice their concerns, Se La had already turned on her heel and disappeared into the shadows.

"When I think I finally understand you, Se La, you prove me wrong," Feng Lai murmured, a rueful chuckle escaping his lips.

Se la then calls yuhan to her quarters.

may I enter aunty se la. He enters with a calm face as he greets se la.

I won't bite loose up a little you think you can hide from me ( she says Mockingly).

I guess not aunty ( yuhan giggling). So aunty what will be my role in this battle. ( his tone returning to serious).

The enemies know about your secret passage what will you do know my nephew. (She smiles while saying).

Yuhan- sometimes a man has to choose the hard path while I knew it was going to happen sooner or later but my plans don't change. Se la laughs at her nephews confidence.

Well then big man hear this out. As yuhan hears se la's plan his calm face changes to a maniacal smile.
