Fujima arrived at his school during lunch time and made it for his afternoon classes. He went straight to the teacher's lounge to find Mr. Takamura was already standing in front of the room. They went up to the rooftop of the school to make sure that their talk was private and free from any eavesdropping.
"Considering that you are already here for the afternoon classes means that you've done your task for today."
"Yes sir. I bet that politician is already peeing his pants right now."
"Good. But we still have a lot of work to do. Stay sharp."
"Yes sir."
After their talk, Fujima went down first to avoid any suspicion just in case that someone would see them coming from the rooftop, not that anyone actually did. Fujima went to his classroom and found most of his classmates were eating lunch, especially Ken who was eating a yakisoba bun once again in his seat.
"Oi! Wyou're hwe're Fyujimwa!" Said Ken who can hardly be understood as he greeted Fujima while chewing his food.
"Don't talk while your mouth is full. That's bad manners you know and you might hurt yourself."
Ken quickly finished his yakisoba bun and would've started talking to Fujima but Mio got ahead of him and approached Fujima while pouting.
"Why did you skip morning classes?!" Said Mio, the class president, with her arms crossed and her eyebrows frowned.
"W-w-well, I paid for the electricity bill early this morning but the line sure was long so would you please forgive me?" Said Fujima.
"I can't believe that the only person that can make the phantom rose this submissive is our class president." Ken thought to himself while holding back his laugh.
"You sure are suspicious, Fujima-kun. I wonder if you're telling me the truth or just making dumb excuses. I will watch you closely. Remember that. I can't let one student of this class act like a delinquent and fail his studies. Tell me the truth!" Demanded Mio.
"We have a quiz later in biology after lunch right? How about this, if I score higher than you, you believe everything I say and apologize." Suggested Fujima with a smirk on his face.
Ken was surprised as to how Fujima was acting like a child getting all agitated by their class president. It sure was a sight to watch for Ken.
"Sure!" Said Mio as she walked back to her seat.
"That sure was a spectacle to watch. You can't believe how hard I was trying to hold my laughter."
"Shut up Ken! I'll show her that I'm not dumb and slacking off."
"I can't believe that you have a side like this, you're still a high school student like us after all. It's refreshing to see you act this way."
"Shut up."
Ken laughed after his little fun teasing Fujima.
"So? Was your so-called electricity bill errand actually an errand for a mission."
"Yeah. But I can't let you in on the details."
"Yeah. Just let me know ahead of time so I can cover for you when the class president asks."
"Thanks, I would greatly appreciate that."
"She nagged me so much earlier trying to get an answer from me as to why you skipped the morning classes. I guess she's interested in you."
"Impossible. She only wants all of her classmates to do well so it would reflect on her being a great class president." Said Fujima pouting like a child which Ken found funny.
"You know that's not true. It's either she's interested in you or concerned. She's just that type of girl."
"Whatever you say."
"But wait, what?!!! A quiz?!!" Ken freaked out and started cramming everything he could but made no significant progress.
A few minutes later, the bell chimed that marked the end of the lunch break. Fujima smiled like a villain as if looking forward to the quiz about to come. The reaction of the other students were signs of despair except for Mio who looked just as pumped up as Fujima. They are looking forward to this duel after all.
The Biology teacher Mr. Hoshina arrived and instructed the class to take away anything from their desks and only leave their pens in it.
"This will be the first quiz in our subject this school year, so I hope you studied and do well on this."
The test papers were handed out. Fujima and Mio smiled at the same time, almost creepy as if they were linked. Unlike those two, Ken looked like his world was about to end. Ken is not actually dumb but he is also not smart. Average is what you may call him. He would do average on quizzes and exams that is barely enough to pass but he would always pass. But this time is different. He totally forgot about the quiz and spent all night playing video games.
The quiz starts and the two are in a duel while Ken is in distress with his own soul. You could see his soul coming out of his wide opened mouth.
"Hehe, this sure is easy!" Fujima and Mio thought to themselves.
After a few minutes of answering, the time ended.
"Time's up! Pass your papers to the front." Said Mr. Hoshina.
Mio looked back to the seat of Fujima and smiled sarcastically and found him also doing the same.
"You'll get your results tomorrow." Said Mr. Hoshino before leaving the room.
"Why do you look like that Ken?" Asked Fujima.
"I'm doomed. I'll be thankful if I even got a point on the quiz." Said Ken, his head facing flat on his desk.
The next day, Fujima and Mio looked excited as if they were kids who were looking forward to a Christmas gift while the other students were on the edge of their seats.
"Just to lighten up this extremely disturbing mood you all are giving, I would first announce the highest scorer for yesterday's quiz. With a perfect score, it was Mio."
Mio jumped out of her seat and looked at Fujima with a smirk.
"Oh there actually is another one who got a perfect score, it was Fujima. Good work you two. Continue to do well in your studies."
Fujima also stood up and smirked at Mio. You can see lightning coming out of their eyes as if shooting at each other.
"I'm a failure. I'm a shame to the family. Kill me now Fujima." Said Ken.
"Don't overreact. It's just a quiz. Just do well on the next ones."
"Help me Fujima, please? Tutor me!" Said Ken tearing up and grabbing Fujima by his legs.
"Okay sure sure! Just let go of me now!"
