Chapter 2 - First Clash

21st Century

Somewhere in Shanlin City—a bustling metropolis filled with twinkling lights—a grand villa stood proudly, sprawling across acres of lush, manicured land.

Situated in the city's most exclusive and sought-after neighbourhood, Silverbrook Haven, this estate commanded a value that only the wealthiest elites could even dream of affording.

Surrounded by greenery and fortified by a team of elite security personnel, the villa was impenetrable. Guards patrolled the perimeter with unwavering vigilance, their eyes sharp as they scanned every inch of the property for the slightest sign of intrusion. No one dared to approach, let alone cross its threshold, without the explicit command of the formidable owner.

The villa's presence loomed over the city, an emblem of unparalleled power and influence. Its towering walls, landscaped gardens, and lavish architecture marked it as a place where only those with unimaginable wealth or status could ever hope to set foot.

The city throbbed with life, but tonight, a storm was brewing, dark clouds rolling in like a foreboding omen. The air crackled with a tense energy, heavy with anticipation, hinting at the chaos about to unfold.

Inside the grand villa, a tall man, standing at least six feet, stood under the shower, the warmth of the water contrasting with the fierce storm building outside. Both hands pressed firmly against the wall, the water poured over his powerful, muscular frame, highlighting each defined line of his six-pack abs and the broad strength of his shoulders.

His dark hair was drenched, droplets clinging to it as they slid down, tracing the sharp angles of his face—a narrow, perfectly defined nose, a jawline chiseled and unyielding, high cheekbones that seemed carved from stone.

With his eyes closed and head lowered, he looked like a figure sculpted from power itself. Even in this private moment, he radiated an undeniable strength, an aura that could command a room with a single glance. It was the kind of presence that demanded respect and silence, as if the storm outside could not dare to compete with the intensity he carried within.

Suddenly, a flash of lightning illuminated the room, and he opened his eyes, alert to something that stirred in the periphery of his awareness.

He turned his head toward the door, and what he saw sent a jolt of disbelief through him.

A woman leaned heavily against the door, her eyes closed. She was draped in a wet red gown that clung to every contour of her form, the fabric glistening as water dripped steadily from her hair.

The striking sight of her took him completely off guard; the veil she wore obscured her face, deepening the air of mystery around her. She gasped for air, her breaths coming in shallow, panicked bursts.

The storm outside intensified, the wind howling like a pack of wolves. A surge of rage built within him at the sight of this unexpected intruder.

No one dared to enter his territory uninvited.

With swift, decisive movements, he closed the distance between them in mere seconds. He wrapped his hand around her neck, feeling her pulse quicken beneath his grip.

The woman's opened her eyes widened in shock as they locked onto his. In that instant, she looked into his devilish dark eyes—eyes that could strike fear into anyone who dared meet his gaze, they burned with a fierce intensity, a gaze that could instill fear in the bravest of hearts.

In that moment, he noticed something about her that caught him off guard. Her emerald green eyes shone brightly, illuminated by the flashes of lightning outside. He had never seen such striking, enchanting green eyes, and they held an intensity and fire that mirrored his, momentarily stalling his fury.

For a moment, the world around them faded away, leaving only the intense pull of their locked gazes—a clash of worlds, a meeting of fates. Thunder boomed outside, signaling the start of something inevitable.

Unbeknownst to them, hidden in the forgotten corners of time, an ancient book—sealed within a locked, dust-veiled box—began to pulse with an eerie glow, as if awakening from a long-forgotten slumber.
