Dalton grabbed Aiden's whiskey bottle and took a large gulp to calm the intense anger coursing through his veins. He then tossed the empty bottle into the sink.
"You didn't take your antipsychotic medication. Do you want to be admitted to a mental institution?" Dalton snarled at Aiden. "You swear you won't kill again."
Aiden's deranged, maniacal grin vanished, replaced by fear in his blue eyes. "No! No! You promised not to take me to that crazy place! You promised me!" Aiden screamed, his voice filled with distress.
"Crazy place?" River laughed incredulously. "Aiden, you're crazy. Crazy people belong in crazy places," he spat at Aiden.
River looked visibly disturbed. Dalton felt sorry for him.
"What is going on here?" Oliver emerged wearing a puzzled expression.
River took Aiden's phone from Dalton and handed it to his twin brother.
Oliver's eyes widened as he stared at the horrific image. He drops the phone with trepidation and lunges at Aiden.
Oliver grabbed Aiden's shirt collar and slammed him against the wall. "You killed again! You promise you will stop killing people! You promise us all," His eyes trembled with rage as he hurled the enraged words at Aiden.
Despite his gentle nature, Oliver can be scary when he is upset.
"I only murder evil men who hurt innocent people." You should be grateful to me for eradicating these wicked men from the surface of the earth, " Aiden shrieks at Oliver
Oliver lost patience and punched Aiden. "They are still human beings, whether they are good or bad. Killing people is the worst crime!"
Oliver let Aiden go and ran his fingers through his hair, frustrated. He looked over at Dalton. "He needs to be admitted to the psychiatrist's hospital right away," his words were firm.
Dalton gives him a nod of agreement.
"No! No!" Aiden screams in protest. "Come on, guys, don't send me to that place; this is the first man I have killed in six months; cut me some slack. That hotel owner is a terrible man. I discovered underage girls tired up in his penthouse. So I had to kill him. I tried not to. I tried because I promised not to kill anymore. But I could not fight the urge. Do you know what it's like for me, huh!" He screams out in anguish.
Oliver reached out and hugged Aiden. "Bad men deserve to die, but each time you kill these men, you lose yourself. You plunge deeper into this madness. The more you become a monster." Oliver's voice shudders as he speaks. Tears well in his eyes. He was having a mental breakdown. He wanted to save Aiden from this dark path. And it killing him inside.
Aiden tightly embraced Oliver. "Please, don't send me to that awful place. I promise to be good. I promise not to kill again, please, I need to be with you guys. I can't be all alone in that mental institution." Aiden teary eyes reach out for Dalton.
Dalton watched his two brothers wallow in misery, causing severe pain to ache in his heart. He hates to see his brothers this miserable. He wishes he could take their pain away.
River, who has been observing quietly the whole time, said. "Okay, why don't we use this solution? Aiden can see a new psychiatrist. He doesn't need to be admitted to the mental institution. You know he might kill himself if he gets separated from us."
Oliver and Aiden pulled apart and stared at Dalton, waiting for his response because he has the final say.
"Okay, I will find you the best psychiatrist. " Dalton said to Aiden. " Hope you don't drive him away like you did with the previous one." He warns.
"I promise I won't, " Aiden clasped his hands together and grinned.
"And you will take your antipsychotic drugs?"
Aiden nods.
Dalton didn't dare to hope because he knew Aiden would kill again. He is only hoping Aiden doesn't go on a killing spree that will get him caught, and he might end up in the electric chair.
"Oliver, are you okay with this solution?" Dalton asked.
Oliver sighed and said. "This will do; I will personally ensure he takes his drugs and attends every therapy session with the psychiatrist."
"Okay, we need a drink. Sadness doesn't look good on your faces." River said lightly and left to fetch another bottle of whiskey.
River came back with two bottles of whiskey. He took a glass from the kitchen cabinet and poured a glass of whiskey for himself and Dalton. He plunges the other bottle to Aiden.
Oliver doesn't take Alcohol so he was left out.
"Maya made this strawberry shortcake, it's great. Help yourself with it," River sliced a piece of the shortcake and served it on a plate. He added a dessert spoon and gave it to his twin brother.
"Whoa, Maya is a great baker," Oliver exclaimed as he took a bite.
"You should have tasted the lobster Ravioli it was so good. Unfortunately, I finished it up a moment ago, " River said.
"let's go to the dining hall; it has been a while since he hung out in there," Aiden suggested.
They moved to the grand dining area, which is so big that it can also serve as a banquet hall.
The dining hall has elegant wooden panels, grand chandeliers, and a long polished table.
They sat opposite each other. Aiden and River drank their whiskey and chatted, whilst Oliver ate his strawberry shortcake in peace.
Dalton left his glass of whiskey untouched on the dining table as he answered important work emails and did important calls.
When Dalton was done with business-related calls, he made a personal call. He needs to get rid of the hotel owner's dead body. He dialed the number of his crime boss friend.
He picks up on the first ring. "Marcelo, I need another favor," Dalton tells him through the phone.
They talk for a few minutes, and Dalton ends the call.
"It's done; Marcelo agreed to get rid of the hotel owner's dead body," Dalton informs his brothers.
Oliver shifted uncomfortably in his seat whilst Aiden let out a sigh of relief. River, on the other hand, poured himself another glass of whiskey, pretending he didn't hear what Dalton said.
"What did you do with the underage girls you found in the house of the hotel owner you killed ?" Dalton threw the question at Aiden.
"Well, I found a big van and made the oldest teenager among them drive herself and the other girls to the police station." Aiden nonchalantly answered.
Oliver's eyes spark with intrigue. "You rescue those girls! You are a hero!" He beams at Aiden, finally realizing the positive effect of Aiden murdering that man. He saved those poor girls' lives.
Oliver's praise made Aiden's head swell with joy. He did a little dance in his seat.
River rattles Aiden's hair playfully. "Are you Batman or Superman?"
Aiden pulled his head away. "Don't group me with those lame superheroes. I rather prefer the Joker."
River huffs. "You prefer the Joker because he is crazy like you are."
Aiden shrugged. "That is why he is the most popular Villain. People love crazy people like me and him.
River shakes his head. "Maniac"
Aiden ignores him.
"Did the girls see your face?" Dalton suddenly asked with concern.
"No, I was wearing a mask," he replied.
Dalton felt relieved. If the girls saw Aiden's face, the police would start an investigation and discover that he murdered the hotel owner. He can pay off the police, of course, but he wishes to avoid any messy situations. He already has enough on his plate.
Two hours later, Marcelo, the crime boss, called Dalton to inform him that he has disposed the dead body. The atmosphere was engulfed with gloom as the brothers sat in torturous silence, unwilling to talk about the dead man.
Suddenly, they heard a sound and turned to see Maya at the threshold, dragging the IV drip beside her.
"Hi," Maya says, waving shyly.
