Dalton gazed intently at Maya, waiting for her response.
"I can help you find your father," he offered.
Maya's eyes went cold. "No, don't bother. I don't care about that man. I don't want him in my life. Why should I look for him when he abandoned me when I was a baby " she said icily.
"Okay, if that's your wish," Dalton said, choosing not to press further, respecting her decision.
A sports car pulled up in front of the house. The door opened, and Aiden stepped out.
"There you are!" Aiden jogged over to them.
"Here you go," Aiden thrust a brand-new phone into Maya's hand. "It's the latest iPhone."
"Thanks!" Maya's eyes shone brightly as she unwrapped the phone.
"You got her a phone?" Dalton shot a deadly stare at Aiden.
Aiden pulled Dalton away from Maya's hearing. She barely noticed, as she was too engrossed in fawning over her new phone.
