Maya navigates the plush leather seating around her, serving drinks while keeping a calm demeanor as she engages in light banter with the men she is serving. Despite her outward composure, she despises every moment of it due to their flirtations and sexist jokes.
"Maya," Laura calls out. "Mr. Hathaway wants to see you," she informs her.
Maya's eyes quivered with fear; her doom was near. Even though Dalton promised to intervene, his words had not alleviated her worry. She has been feeling like a ticking time bomb throughout the whole day.
"Alright," Maya served her last drink and boarded the elevator to the top floor.
