Chapter 275 - Slaughter

Jia Bai asked a pointed question. The surrounding cultivators tensed, genuinely curious about the answer to this question. Li Yang's expression remained calm, nodding and saying, "Perhaps I was indeed influenced by him, but I believe I am walking my own path, and that's enough." Jia Bai grinned, "I hope so. You'd better be the first Li Yang, not a second Chen Xia." Digu held his arms across his chest and muttered softly, "A second Chen Xia doesn't seem too bad either." Qiu Li shot him a glance, "You can keep those thoughts in your head." "Oh," Digu nodded but couldn't help asking again, "Don't you think it's pretty good?" Qiu Li looked at him, unsure how to respond, feeling that ever since the Azure Heaven Sword Sea collapsed, Digu's mind has become increasingly dull. Could his intelligence be tied to the Azure Heaven Sword Sea? Qiu Li really didn't understand, shaking his head and replying, "Even if I think it's good, I wouldn't say it out loud." Below, Jia Bai's expression darkened, likely regretting inviting these two people. Taking the opportunity, Li Yang communicated telepathically with Li Yue, "Did you invite them?" Li Yue touched her head and replied, "I did invite them, and they said they would come, but not immediately." "When then?" Li Yang pressed. "He said he would sleep for a bit and come when he wakes up," Li Yue replied, then smiled proudly, "I definitely didn't want to, considering how urgent it is, so I had him come over to sleep." Li Yang's expression froze slightly before asking again, "Did they come?" "Of course they came." Li Yue proudly touched her nose and pointed behind her. In the vast starry sky, a black coffin slowly floated over, stopping above the Li Family, then went still. No one recognized this black coffin, nor could they sense any aura from it, only finding the scene somewhat peculiar. Jia Bai frowned and asked, "You invited a dead person to fight? That's troublesome. I can't kill something that's already dead." The blue-robed cultivator beside him observed the black coffin for a moment, shook his head, and spoke his first words, "I can't tell what it is; could it be some kind of magical treasure?" "Haha, what magical treasure could it be?" Jia Bai couldn't help but laugh, "It might be a tool for his own end, entering the coffin directly after death, ahead of others." Li Yang also scrutinized the black coffin but saw no movement, so he stopped looking and turned his gaze to the Heaven Mending realm sword cultivator and Huang Chan on his side, nodding, "Thanks for your trouble." "Not at all, I've long been displeased with this Jia Bai," the old sword cultivator holding the Dragon Slaying Sword replied, raising his sword and asking the blue-robed cultivator, "Are you also a sword cultivator?" "Obviously," the blue-robed cultivator replied while hugging his sword. A flying sword aimed straight for his head, piercing through the void, its sword intent shaking the air. "Scary," the blue-robed cultivator deflected the sword tip with the hilt of his sword in front of his chest, laughing. The old dragon-blooded sword cultivator snorted coldly, beckoned with his hand, and the flying sword suddenly reversed, returning to his grasp, spreading intense sword qi, as if boiling blood surged within. A hidden dragon image appeared on the blade! Jia Bai couldn't help but praise, "Using the lives of your own kin to feed the flying sword is indeed a good move. Probably only you have the heart to do such a thing." "I'm not a pure dragon-blooded breed, so it's not much of a big deal," the elder replied indifferently. The flying sword in the blue-robed cultivator's embrace trembled, and he laughed, "Indeed heartless, but unfortunately, this heartlessness doesn't seem to have brought you much power, just average." As soon as he finished speaking, the flying sword attacked again, slashing down and breaking through a kilometer of void. The blue-robed cultivator blocked with his sword, then flicked his wrist, sending the flying sword forward, instantly reaching the old sword cultivator, followed closely by himself, gripping the sword handle and slashing down! One slash carried the power of Kunlun, the flying sword transforming into a thousand feet, seemingly aiming to cut through stars. The old sword cultivator's scales multiplied on his body, and his ancient flying sword trembled, blocking the thousand-foot-long attack with a three-foot sword, snorting coldly, "Lacking force." The blue-robed cultivator ascended higher into the cosmos with his sword, waving and laughing, "It's inconvenient to wield sword techniques below; why don't we go up and settle this?" "Not afraid," the old sword cultivator disdainfully replied, ascending with his sword. This high in the cosmos became the battlefield for the two Heaven Mending realm sword cultivators. What remained was the standoff between Huang Chan and Jia Bai. Digu and Qiu Li watched quietly from the side, having no intention of mediating. They were invited by Jia Bai to add weight to the situation. To truly add weight, they needed to observe first, in case Li Yang had other tricks up his sleeve. Huang Chan stomped his foot, heavenly might surging from his body, snorting coldly, "I felt there was something off about you even back in the Azure Heaven Sword Sea; I never imagined you'd be so problematic after coming out!" Jia Bai sneered, spinning his folding fan, "Back in the Azure Heaven Sword Sea, I had to watch my actions due to various restrictions, feeling quite restrained. Only after coming out did I return to my true self!" "Your true self seems rather meaningless; let me act on behalf of heaven!" Huang Chan roared, his figure flashing instantly in front of Jia Bai, delivering a punch with heavenly might, breaking through the void and landing on Jia Bai's opened folding fan. The green mountains and clear waters depicted on the fan trembled, seemingly unable to withstand the force of the punch. Jia Bai suddenly raised his other hand, lightly tapping the fan and shouting, "Among the mountains and rivers." Instantly, both their figures vanished, and two fiercely battling ink dots appeared within the green mountains and clear waters on the fan. From then on, there was nothing more to see in terms of battle. Everyone began looking at each other, then observing the black coffin that appeared later. None could discern the details of this black coffin and dared not make assumptions rashly. Qiu Li stood above and suddenly said to Li Yang, "Why don't you apologize to Jia Bai to avoid us getting involved and hurting harmony?" Li Yang didn't speak, not even glancing at him. Qiu Li continued persuading, "If you apologize, we'll give you thirty percent of what we get from Jia Bai." "That won't do; you might as well give it to me; I can subdue her right now," Digu started getting anxious. "Go to hell, shut up. Cultivator matters aren't just about fighting," Qiu Li scolded. Li Yang glanced at Qiu Li, staring straight at him. After a while, he suddenly said, "Three thousand years after the collapse of the Azure Heaven Sword Sea, you are the most complicated one."
